They were a bloody disgrace, going down like tenpins. Blatant cheating and as you said that ref was a sh*tbag. A lot to be said why hardly any of our refs are selected for European or wold games as most are just not good enough.
From a defensive perspective, you’re right. Coming up, shipping goals I would say is always the biggest concern, and we seem to be managing very well thus far. In that regard, the system is working splendidly.

Of course we have cause for optimism, the boys and TF have done brilliantly , but there do seem to be some truths occurring, that need to be addressed or at least appreciated.
1. Finishing. Some predictions said 3-1, understandably. Yet I think the likelihood is we’ll score on average 1 a game and hope our defence stands strong. In regards to Bryan, his chances weren’t easy, but his finishing IS a big concern ( ever since first day against Birmingham leafy season) full stop.
2. Energy. I love this group because the commitment is second to none. Yet conserving energy to ensure ‘ fruitful spells’ across 90’ is something I think we’ll adapt to.
Overall no huge complaints, top marks. Yet optimism for the future doesn’t mean we can’t pinpoint early warning signs
They've won 3 out of 4 matches, ok you might argue they were against us, Burnley and Watford but they are organised and difficult to break down with two superb midfielders in Trossard and Bissouma & a tactically astute manager. I don't think there is much wrong with the quality of the league we find ourselves in either to be honest.
I've not got the impression on here that people are saying Bryan (for example) should have scored a HT. I feel the majority are saying that in the PL if you're presented with three opportunities you have to score with one!
I think it is that you NEED to score with one, rather than have to. (He has no god-given right to score). Bryan’s 3rd was the one real chance, and he has so often curled those in before, and hit it just the wrong side of the post. Another time, it will go in. He set it up beautifully. As good as Said against Fulham last year.

With apologies for the delay in this weeks dose of positivity. For various reasons, I spent most of Saturdays game in the sensory room and wanted the chance to watch the match back!
- Lose 0-1 at home to Brighton
- Our first defeat of the season and first PL defeat
- First league defeat in 16 games
- Brighton are a good team and Potter is a good manager. Rolling them over was never realistic but we’ve more than held our against another established PL team
- A game of fine margins - it’s all part of the PL learning curve. Brighton had one shot on target in the second half and scored. But we can look at the chances we had in the first half and wonder why we weren’t leading at half time
- First PL start for Baptiste. Another player plucked from the lower leagues for a (relatively) modest fee we have turned into a PL footballer. He’s going to be a baller
- Raya solid in goal once again. Very consistent this season and none of last years wobbles around high balls into the box look like coming back
- Mbeumo - a million miles from where he was this time last season. His pace always looks like causing massive problems and once he gets his first goal, they’ll continue to come
- Ivan Toney was absolute class again. Maybe our most complete player ever. Vision, link up play, hold up play, scoring, defending - he’s got it all and deserved that 45 yard lob dropping in
- Still in the top 10 after 4 games
- Only 2 goals conceded and otherwise defensively solid
- Still have a positive goal difference
- PPG achieved so far would see us stay up comfortably
- By comparison, after 4 games last season the relegated teams stacked up like this: Fulham: 0 points, 11 conceded; WBA: 1 point, 13 conceded: Sheff Utd: 0 points, 6 conceded. There is no need to pop pills after losing to Brighton
- Wolves up next. We haven’t won much up there in recent times. Ivan to do his best Joe Allon impression in a 2-1 win? Yes please
