We need to take our chances to close this game out as I can’t believe that Everton will be that cr** in the second half.

I found that half very frustrating. We struggled to keep possession for any decent amount. We are not great in front of goal at the moment. Pontus and Bryan should have scored. Hope Canos does better this half . Been one of his worst halves.

Let’s be honest with this, we’re looking quite ropey against a very poor Everton team.

Having said that Bryan is creating enough space to get a goal in this one and Toney looks a real pain.

We have 0 creativity from midfield and are just by passing it with long balls. Alvaro’s kicking has been off and has kicked it twice into danger. I also think Everton should have had a pen towards the end of the 1st half.

If we get a second we win but I do fear we’re going to concede out of the blue here.

The above may be a little harsh but the reality is this Everton team are poor and 1-0 up at half time, we SHOULD go on to win it.

Managing the game well and playing a little deeper to contain them. We have been a little pedestrian in possession though and a little fortunate to be ahead. We need to deal better with Rodon and Gordon is causing Sergi some problems.

Toney and Henry the main guys for us again going forward, and good forward options on the bench today. Feel this may be a good game for Jensen. COYR!

I don't want to see Goode in the team but he's done OK that half, and I hope he keeps it up. We don't look as confident or flowing as we did earlier in the season but if we can win this one it will make a big difference.

Not at our best there but we've done enough. Alvaro has had a decent half but two poor kicks have caused us some problems.

We've looked dangerous on the break and then played the wrong pass 2 or 3 times.

Get the next goal and we'll win this comfortably.

I think Alvaro’s save against Rondon, was what Darlow tried to do last week, But the pace of Ivan’s shot was too much

It's been okay. To be ahead is 'great' and it could have been another, but we'll need to be better to win this. Everton will not be this poor again. I just hope we don't go for the same 2nd half tactics we did against West Ham. I think we might, but feel we should get Baptiste on soon and push for another.

Playing quite well but Evertons threat is on the counter from a Bees attacking set piece.
Think we might see a different game 2nd half.

1-0 up and playing well. Some of the posters above need to get a grip urgently.
I like your eternal optimism, but I reckon people and just saying what they’ve seen. No need for grip taking whatsoever, we certainly weren’t “great” first half but hopefully we do enough to win it in the end 👍🏻👍🏻

Our defence needs strengthening in the January window, too many reactive at the last moment challenges instead of reading the game and sniffing out the chances before the danger, that is the difference at this level, also, are we too reliant on Toney! this is just constructive criticism, 3 points will put us back on track.

I wish we were a bit tidier in possession, we have given the ball away too often, I think Baptiste in for Onyeke who’s on a yellow would help. We just need the 3 points today! Another goal would make it a lot more comfortable for us

Even CN has been guilty of that with 2 passes straight to Everton players

was a pretty bad game all round first 20 minutes, still not at our best the rest of the half but created some good chances

Everton are a workmanlike side. It's remarkable how much space they find in our half.

We’re giving Everton much too much of the ball at the moment.

Townsend running the show, all the crosses coming down their right, need to mark him out the game, he's got too much space!

It’s a tough watch at the moment, there’s no composure. Baptiste on, Frank off please Thomas!

Continually giving the ball back to Everton. No midfield composure.
