We were good enough to beat Everton, but Everton were poor, despite all their 2nd half possession. Was it deliberate that we allowed them the midfield in the 2nd half?Curious tactics!Clean sheet. A victory. A home win. What is there to be concerned about? Not our best performance but good enough.
Thought Goode was one of our MOM.It does not matter if I do not understand how to make the system TF set up works but it is important the players do. Second half we looked more than a little unsure of how to make it work so everyone just dropped back. I am sure it will improve. Hate to criticise one of our players but Goode, really?
Totally agree with your last sentence. I can’t recall ever seeing a pub team defence keeping a clean sheet against a premiership team and despite all their possession second half I don’t think Everton created a clear cut chance. No we weren’t great today and had I been watching the game on TV as a neutral I’d have probably switched over to Bargain Hunt. And if anyone under estimates the impact of our injuries, then look no further than todays oppositionAt every level I've ever seen us play I've seen games where we've struggled, scrapped and ground out a win. Today won't live long in the memory but we got 3 points so hey, that's OK. Sone of the comments on here are remarkably harsh.

It’s all about opinions. That’s mine, I knew it would not be popular.I’m far from being a paid-up member of the Charlie fan club, but to pick him out for criticism today is bizarre. The boy done seriously goode today and IMHO only Ivan would be ahead of him in the MOTM stakes. He can hold his head high tonight.
Anyone unhappy with that has clearly forgotten where we’ve come from. Remember shipping 7 (seven) goals at Peterborough?
Finally, we should remember we've gone 5 games without a win before this one. Grinding out a result was exactly what we needed. And we deserved it because we managed the game pretty well, in many ways a much more deserved 3 points than the West Ham win.
OK. But by God, it was a hard watch in the second half....Better to grind out a win over a poor Everton side than create loads of chances, like we did against Chelsea, and lose. I'd take another half dozen performances like this if we take three points each time.
I'm also delighted that Everton got 0 points for their lack of respect beforehand, their appalling gamesmanship when Rico got injured and their fury that their team dare lose to us. f*** off home you classless ****s.
Will have to watch the game back to see, but some are saying that as we played on after Rico went down, we can hardly criticise Everton?Absolutely that was disgraceful Henry was down and it felt over a minute of play went on…yet we put the ball out for them in the second half…classless club
