2) mid way through the second half Bournemouth had a free kick about 20 yards outside our box and about 10 yard in from the touch line, not sure who took it but they tried to do what Fulham did for the first goal at Wembley
ONWARDS AND UPWARDS
Yes, I saw that Raya was very far out and to the left lining up. The attempt was so poor that the Fulham parallel wasn’t even picked up by the commentators who just remarked it was a waste. Shows how unlikely scoring like that is. Had Bryan done that in August he’d have looked like wasting a late opportunity with selfishness.

The Bishop of Rome isn’t infallible, and neither is Canos. No one, ever, has a said he is (much to your disappointment, I’m sure). But your relentless criticism of him makes you look like a [checks notes] complete cock.

Any chance of you supporting the players during the actual game, rather than slagging them off? At least try please. You might enjoy it.
Blimey. that is over the top and I will not rise to a childish bait nor attempt to evidence my loyalty/support. Opinions are what posting is about. I very rarely post during a game as my phone is normally off. Try to get an early night.

Your Wednesday evening Fact Check courtesy of Untouchable (Top 2 New Year edition):
Love your post, apart from 15. Counting your chickens. The last winners of this equally exhilarating tie also played Bristol the following Saturday. They lost 4-0.

  2. After being 1-0 down ✅
  3. Against a team that was in the PL last season ✅
  4. Bournemouth hadn’t conceded in 5 before today ✅
  5. Bournemouth had only lost twice before they turned up in West London this evening ✅
  6. 16 games unbeaten ✅
  7. Maximum points from Reading, Cardiff and Bournemouth ✅
  8. Up to 2nd in the table ✅
  9. Only 3 points from the top of the table ✅
  10. Our best points return at this stage in a Championship season ✅
  11. Canos continues to find form ✅
  12. Bryan continues to find form ✅
  13. Squad rotation spot on from TF✅
  14. We now have a grit and determination and can dig deep. Don’t underestimate this. We’d have lost this match in every season before this one. ✅
  15. Bristol City are getting smashed on Saturday ✅
  16. Happy New Year to all Bees. I love you all even when I disagree with you ✅

Apologies, there was someone on here earlier posting as ‘TorbayBee’ saying cray-cray stuff like Canos isn’t the Pope, and that fans who support him belong to the ‘Canos Protection Team‘ (whatever that is/isn’t).

Given your bizarro, faux-indignant reaction, obviously somebody must have hacked your account and posted under your name. If you go into Settings you can change your password there to stop it happening again.

Hope this helps.

Great win in the end. After a shaky first 15mins we more than matched Bournemouth and deserved our win. By the time they got the first goal we had already woken up and started taking better care of the ball. Last 10mins they went direct and it suited us. The problems came when they were playing quick on the floor and running at Pontus and Pinnock. For all their possession they didn’t create a chance 2nd half. But they’ve some quality players.

I thought Henrik, Janelt, Jensen and Bryan were our main men. JDS first half but tired 2nd half. Lots running on empty but kept going strong. Toney worked hard but didn’t get too much by way of chances. Would imagine the team for Bristol City will include Thompson, Fosu, MBS, Marcondes, Ghoddos and Forss.

Hands up :

I would have taken a draw after 5 minutes and again when we went a goal down.

Bournemouth looked awesome going forward at times and we did brilliantly to come back, dominate the game for long periods and eventually win this one.

Two top teams.

Funny -I thought he had a bad game. IMO, both he and Toney are going through bad spells (do they need a rest?)
You on a wind up? Rico wasnt flying forward tonight as we would have been exposed defensively but to say he had a bad game is quite something

One top team
One team with top attacking threat and appalling full backs.

We were slow out of the blocks again and Muff were running riot. However despite going behind we edged back in and deservedly equalised. Second half was a superb defensive show. In the end we deserved the win.
Special mention for Bryan who had his best game tonight and looks to have regained his sharpness.
On we go.
Yes, and it is fascinating to watch. It is almost as if we have a plan, and we will see it out regardless of what actually happens in the game.

We start slowly so often that I can only assume that it is part of the plan - keep an even pace. Then we slowly impose our style of play on the game, work it through, and, well, win! Certainly against weaker sides we will muller them anyway (Reading), but when we go behind - the last two games - we do not stray from the plan, but just keep playing. The team must have immense faith in not only TF's tactics, but with each other, to be able to see the plan through the 90 minutes.

What a result, Bournemouth are a really good side. We showed a steel and resilience we didn’t have last season.
That goal line clearance from Pontus! How did he do that, ... as good as scoring a goal in my book.

Absolutely buzzing here!!! Fantastic performance today from the whole team, subs included. Worked so hard and after a tough first 10 looked the better side for much of it. Was worried we were looking leggy near the end but subs freshened us up and saw us through. Sooo proud of the boys!!

best side we have played in the last two seasons
Nonsense. LEEDS at GP last season were like nothing Id ever seen at GP. Came at us from every angle.

Great result though and we finally look:

A) tough to beat
B) confident
C) mentally strong and not panicky

Great team selection, great subs, great side. Best opposition faced in a long time and always looked like we could win. Any side that finishes above us this season will be in the premier league...

Dont care who plays against Bristol sh*tty on saturday, please just let us play the same team as today against Spurs. I think that Xl will really give them a game.

I think we will make a few changes on Saturday with Fosu, Marcondes and possibly Sorensen starting but agree tonight is our best team with Norgaard still out.

Bloody wonderful!! Bournemouth looked like they were going to overrun us in first 15 mins and could see a five nil coming up. So much credit for a resilient performance resulting in a win. Onwards and upwards.

I might be in the minority but after today I’d prefer Druggie Nick and Jambo up front, with Logan in the hole against the Spuds.

Well done boys , every bees player had a good game tonight. That was some game of football, we played against a really good footballing side and no mistake. Any neutral tonight would have loved watching that game. Josh for me looks a premiership player, Janelt feck me he is some player, our wide boys tonight really made u.s click, we are just getting better and better COYB.

It is obvious what the priority is. Cups are to give the squad game time and am totally in agreement with that. There are a few who will benefit from some rest ready for rest of the league games. We have a great opportunity this year and must stay focused on that aim.

I agree with all of this especially Leeds have been the best team in the Championship with Wolves since we came up. The big difference was despite Leeds having so much possession last year they didn’t create that many clear cut chances as Bournemouth did in the first 20 minutes.

Despite that I can’t remember Bournemouth having a clear cut chance in the second half. They do have Premiership quality all over and we had to dig deep then we started to impose our game. Something we couldn’t do with Leeds at home.

Finally, you saw two excellent sides tonight playing football the right way. Having watched some Premiership crap over the last week, it was good to be entertained and I am convinced more than ever we can hold our own in the Premiership. Just need to bloody well get there.

I messaged a bees mate after 5 nervous minutes and said once we are through the first 20 minutes the game we will settle down, and they did. This squad are really something special.

We started so poorly and I don’t think we sat back deliberately, they forced us back and the game could have been gone after 15 minutes before we started to establish a foothold into the game.

After that we were magnificent.

Muff manager said his side lost to two defensive errors. I know it’s all managers speak and all that but really these oppo managers don’t like to face up to reality, the better team (just) won...

Yet again a result I don't think we would have got in seasons gone by, which I hope is a good omen for our promotion prospects! We rode our luck at times, but I wouldn't call it a "lucky" result, just a high quality match between (probably) the two best sides in the division, and crucially we took our chances. Onwards and upwards!

I think it’s a fair comment. All three goals could have been defended better (though normally defending v Mbeumo involves pushing him wide and onto his right foot so I can understand being puzzled by him taking the initiative to go that way!). There were also a couple of moments of defensive excellence (Pontus and Rico’s last ditch clearances) absent which we’d have had a huge mountain to climb. In the end we were better because we had more control but the margin between us winning 2-1 and being on the end of a 3 or 4 nil were very fine.

I think the reality Tindall was evading was more about his tactical changes and substitutions which helped them to cede control of midfield to us and allowed us to have the time to keep defensive shape against their fast attacks, whereas that was harder first half. That was likely a bit of naivety and inexperience showing in a thought process expecting them to be able to turn the screw by their dominance in the final third (cf Frank’s all out attack 2-3-5 when chasing the win against Barnsley last GP league game).
