1. Thomas, please give your team talk before the first half, not the second.
2. David, I think you might have misheard Thomas in post-match press conferences. He said if we are going to concede first, better to do it early so we have all match to catch up. This was not an instruction to get the opening goal out of the way as early as possible.
3. Sergi, pressing high up the pitch does not mean fouling high up the pitch. Wise up!

To turn this on its head, I'd say if I'm a Stoke fan, I'm going to be pretty pissed off with that. "We" bossed the first half, having worked out how to play against Brentford last season. Brentford were poor and ended up expending more energy than us chasing their own tales in the end. So why we faded so dramatically after only 45 minutes, I have absolutely no idea.

And from our perspective. Why the fk does it take 45 minutes to start playing? It's not as if we don't know what's coming. Surely we should be able to change it up quicker than that once we see what Stoke are doing. Sorry for all the whinging. It's not normally my way. It's just that having made it this far through the pandemic, and having queued up for the vaccine last Monday, it would be a real shame to have to peg out with heart failure on a Saturday afternoon.

Brilliant second half though. Another goal for Ivan. Another assist for Bryan. And a thunderbolt from Vitaly which somehow went in shaped like a dipping volley despite being despatched from the deck. Saman was immense. Mattheus was the proverbial cucumber and imperious with it. Back four effectively served up another clean sheet (we can't allow the opener to count against them). And despite his aberration, David was far superior to his opposite number who really lacked confidence and consequently had several mix-ups with his own defence.

I think the difference was that in the first half Stoke had more effective players in Norrington-Davies and Thompson playing those hard tackling/fouling roles but both being on yellows were cruising towards red cards if they carried on in the same way. They were replaced by weaker players and we very quickly realised Tymon in particular was a weak link we could terrify by running at. We could have tried going long sooner but in the first half they had the men to stop us getting those long balls.

I’d have thought MON’s plan would have to have kept those two on for another 15-20 minutes and just replaced to freshen up and keep up the work rate otherwise and do what Barnsley and Coventry did. I suspect had we not gone 1-0 down they might have had to have gone even harder first half and possibly gone a man down, or played a bit higher up the pitch and left more gaps than they did defending a lead.

So unlike Barnsley, who’ve set up and trained into a high energy high press game over a long period and are now getting it consistent, for Stoke it was more like a burst of adrenaline mixed with hope given the goal head start.

I had half an eye on it and they weren’t that bad, they bought a lot of good players in the summer, they got rid of the little fat pig manager and the next one but Pearson has sorted them out.

When you see the goals though, a corner that went straight in and then a pass back that the keeper miscontrolled and got robbed. You think our “fans” gave Raya a hard time, I bet Michu and the gobshites are having kittens tonight.

I think Bryan in particular came alive when we became more direct and looked to run in behind. Difficult to press a team that mixes a short and long game. The pressing players soon become disheartened chasing back towards their own goal which then gives us the space to play out from the back.

Well done to the boys today, after a 1st half that we never got control off and spent so much time in our own half.the boys came out 2nd half and looked different class. It was good to see us change our style of play and we had stoke hanging on all half.every bees player rose to the challenge,and for me a very gutsy performance to clinch the three points. It seemed to me that Stoke had four more players than us in the 1st half
with them closing us down intercepting, and winning 2nd balls. But the manor in the way that we came back has really filled me with confidence that we are good enough for a top two finish. Well done boys so proud of the way you came back today, and gave me a very happy birthday.

Absolutely MASSIVE result!! What a turnaround. Fantastic second half, totally different team. Introduction of Jensen made a huge difference and Mbeumo and Ghoddos simply outstanding second half. Norgaard coming back the icing on the cake. Gave us all the willies with some needless free kicks near the end but well deserved winners in the end and with a bit of composure could well have scored more.. So good to finally get one over on Stoke. Now, please, please, please, no more shooting ourselves in the foot!!

I don’t think that is true, the only thing stopping him from being nailed on player of the year is probably Ivan Toney.

VJ has been an utter revelation this season and I don’t why people are a going as if nobody has noticed.

Well done to Thomas and his coaching team yesterday; I know he made an amusing comment when asked in an interview, if he takes credit for his half time teamtalk. He responded along the lines of no he can't take praise because that would mean what was I ............ doing in the first half .

Look the same teams have been beating us with the same system for 12 months; it cost us promotion last season, and up until half time yesterday had put us out of the top 2 race. I still don't know why it took the coaching set up so long to change things around - it wouldn't have taken others so long (12 months) but I'm the first to praise them for doing so; we finally beat this system, and please god we can now kick on and achieve what this set up deserve.
