very very very bad day at the office - I think most of us are shocked as it hasn't happened this badly for quite a while - international break has come at a good time for us to reset and go again - I really hope TF learns from this - some players aren't as good as he thinks they are when played together!!

Sorry to those who complain that Jensen and Marcondes are scapegoated when we play badly, but both have been truly dreadful today. Sure, others have not been good either but they have both stood out as particularly bad!
Can't disagree I'm afraid. Would add the entire back four to that second half though and Daniels.. Dalsgaard in particular has been woeful.. Pontus has been extremely quiet for a captain..

Mate, I'm normally very positive in defeat but that was appalling. No point in sugar coating that. Awful defending.
I agree, it's been pathetic from us but when people spout rubbish like "we were arrogant in team selection" or "even I'm better than so and so" it deserves to be called out for the nonsense that it is imo.

from the match i saw in the Carabao cup, PNE was the better side against brighton, Alireza Jahanbakhsh was the one who made the difference. PNE are no joke imo and probably title contenders this season in the championship. I'm waiting to see the extended highlights..
They are bang average - wont finsh top 6 IMHO if we want to go up this has to be the only time we play that badly this season

Agree, the both of them cannot play in a midfield three, both too lightweight and not enough industry.

Can we now start taking this seriously and play our strongest team!! Raya, Benrahma, Fosu and Baptiste need to be involved more...

One of those games where you lose a key player and hope things will be ok. Sometimes they are today they certainly were not

Pretty poor all round. Can't remember seeing a game where we were outplayed for near enough 90. Shows how important Norgard is to the team. Great for Toney to get his brace and Josh did well. The rest should hang their heads. Have to play our best 90 from the start and I will be glad when Rico and Raya return to the 11.

Result was unfair on Preston, should have been at least 6-0. Can’t remember the last time we looked that bad, maybe Stockport under Wally Downes? :fishing:

FFS. That was just awful second half. We did ok first half and you'd have thought we'd have enough second half to hold onto that but we gave up the kind of capitulation we saw when Dean Smith left. Absolutely horrendous. No excuses for that really. Really pissed me off...

Our build up play has been dogsh*t for months and we've got away with it because of our quality in both boxes. Take out a couple of key personnel and that defensive solidity begins to crumble, add in an opposition that is very competitive and well set up to cause us problems and that is the result.

Knowing we had this game coming up, going all out for the meaningless feel-good win over Fulham doesn't seem so smart now either, does it?

Worst home game from us in many years.. completely embarrassing second half.. JDS & Toney only ones who can hold head high... where is the leadership?? Pontus and Henrik let us down today big time.. Changes needed and some players need dropping .. Credit to Preston who stuck with their game plan and executed it well.. we let them do that.. injuries happen and its down to the players to adapt to the scenario. We have an int. break to work on this

Completely. Hope Norgaard is okay or we may have to fast track Janelt in, or switch formation. Jensen and Marcondes are no Norgaards, they are not up for a fight and we had no control in midfield, or no defensive shield.

A few hours ago according to some this was the strongest 18 Brentford had ever put out. At half time, despite not playing particularly well, they held a pragmatic 2-0 lead. Now some are saying two thirds of the team are not fit to wipe the boots of the other third?

Some perspective please. That was an X-certificate second half. Unfortunately, it sometimes happens.

PNE outran us, outfought & out thought us.
No complaints about them, but we were flat as a pancake.
Just happens sometimes, but we can’t let it happen again if we’re serious about challenging.

It was my first time seeing PNE play. from what i saw they played a really modern and attractive type of football with high pace pressure and attacking football, i really don't know how they have been playing in the past in the league but whatever happened today, may it be the lineup or maybe high pressure play from PNE i'm not sure since i didnt see the game. But what stood out to me is knowing that when Norgaard went off the midfield collapsed (possesion percentage) i'm wondering if there is someone who could pick up the midfield better than those who played in the midfield after his substitution?

Gross overreaction. It is simply that we have lost composure and shape since we lost Norgaard. Playing far too deep
Isn't it a bit alarming that something like this happens when we lose one player!?
Thompson has really struggled.

At best he is not ready, at worst he is not good enough.
I think he was one of the few players who emerged with any credit tbh!

Our defensive organisation just vanished, no-one taking charge, it really showed how much everyone looks to Norgaard for leadership.

Credit to the opposition, but that was very poor from us. We haven’t addressed our midfield issues - hope to not see Marcondes and Jensen in the same midfield again in a Championship game. Just not combative enough and the way we play if we don’t win the battle to earn the right to play our way we’ll drop points against more workmanlike teams time and time again.

Poor response from the management today when it was evident things were not working.

Agreed. What happened to Pontus. Is he 100%?

We need better than Jenson and Marcondes all summer and we havent. Henrik is past his best and we should have been looking for a upgrage. I would be looking to play 3 at the back without Rico. Hopefully Baptiste gets fit as I rather play my mum or misses over Jenson and Marcondes.

Baptiste is injured and Fosu just as inconsistent as Canos. Would def have started Raya and Benrahma though but Norgaard is so key. Let's hope he's not injured too badly and this German kid can step up quickly..

Think we need Raya back asap, he'd have picked out a couple of those crosses, is much more vocal and allows us to step up the pitch more. We're so deep with Daniels in goal it just invites pressure...

Thought they were excellent, especially Brown. And with Sinclair, they have a goal threat.

Want to see some fire from TF after that. He must be furious.

Thought TF should've changed the shape when replacing Norgaard. Was very surprised he didn't. Game was clearly going to go one way with those 3, in that shape. Big defender of Jensen and Marcondes, but the pair of them with JDS screams out for missing industry and the "passion" - game ownership and accountability.

Considering the players missing and odd selection its not a bad effort. Playing all.our games away is not easy but its a good effort so far. Worrying that 4 goals conceded in such a short space of time but still.onwards and upwards. One query is those coloured seats from bits I have seen dont make the crowd look bigger. Well done Bees. Its a start.

Is it me, or does Thompson look completely out of his depth. I’m not scapegoating him for this loss as most of the team was shocking.

He just seems he’s not a championship plater, I’d say he’s league 2 at best.

Their first win in the league today - they work hard but we basically gifted them 3 pointswith awful Sunday league defending. I think we found out how important Norgaard is today - Marcondes and Jensen have 1 good game in 3 if we are lucky and playing them together is asking for trouble.
