For everyone that has worked and volunteered at the club. For those that were shaking buckets and those that contributed. For the fans that go through thick and thin and travel across the country on freezing Tuesday nights.
My Dad passed away last August on the day the floodlights went out at GP for the last time. As one of my friends put it - Dad had the best seat of us all!Victory today would be very appropriate in honour to a very old Bee, my Dad, Frank Layton…..Who passed away two weeks ago at the age of 98. Despite his great age, he was still very much alert and watched the games on TV as much as possible.
He had been a Brentford fan since1929 (or perhaps, even earlier) since he grew up on Brook Road right next toThe Griffin and GP stadium and lived there from 1922-54 - apart from his military service years. He had so much wanted to see the Bees in the top league once more ……and this year he said it is our chance.
