great win. calm and focused after early goal against us. quick question, what was defensive set up at the end: 1st subs: rico off winston on (thought mabye at that point mads bech was pushed out left with winston slotting in middle) then toney for mads roerslev, couldn't work out was the formation then?

Made life difficult in the end when in cruise control. Need to eradicate silly mistakes and giving fouls away around our box .. worthy winners tonight and not at our best .

First few mins I am thinking oh god no, not again, after that we took them apart. Shame about their second goal as they had done nothing since the first minute but you get nervous after that as they have done it before but they created nothing else so job done.

Do we have the minerals....Yes we do.

Looking at it from the outside you'd say everything points to us getting promoted.

I did wonder tonight if last season could end up being like the Trotta season and it could all help us in the end. First time I've thought that.

I love that, 7.2 at home and then we win a big bottle game to go second and we can stil say nowhere near our best and still have half the first team injured. (y)

I was worried about tonight. With a chance to go 2nd, I felt this could be like Stoke or Barnsley.

We withstood the mental task tonight. We can do this.

Great win against a decent team (albeit riddled with injuries). Fantastic Toney goal (and the others weren't bad at all). Pleased to see Ghoddos on the scoresheet. Great to see Jannsen so involved in the stands. Pleased Fosu got MoM. Janelt was also excellent.
But two very poor goals to concede. Defence of a set piece again appalling. What's the problem? And the second was terrible complacency. We've a good shout for going up but only if we iron out these problems.

Magnificent win!

What I love is how this is all a complete team effort - not just relying on one or two players like last season!

Plus, it’s constantly amazing how we progressively improve players to the best standards.

Janelt is real steel in the midfield - blocks so many moves. What a find to step into the Norgaard gap.

Canos superb energy and back to his old Sergi confidence, but with far more street-wise guile and skill.

Fosu has developed so much, creating opportunities for others.

And Ivan does what Ivan does best, gets there first ahead of a defender.

And Ghoddos, without the beard and the extra weight of that, ran and ran, and plays in that more central position to great effect.
Plus he has a mean shot on him.

Everyone else played with real enthusiasm and to the team scheme.

Plus, ex-Bees, Mawson and Bentley played their part with assists!😂

Last point is that such is the ultra competitive state of the Championship, that the constant warning sign is you can’t give away one mistake to any other team, whether it’s Wycombe or Norwich.
Any mistake is pounced on so quickly.

Onwards and upwards.😊🐝😊

I looked and looked and have decided Bristol City 2nd goal was on side as it was a Jensen touch to him.
1st goal Pinnock again sloppy.
Sorenson is growing up every game and his pass to the wing was Hoddlesque and he was so comfortable driving forward. That probably comes from Janelt who quietly gets on with everything and I can't beleive we got him so cheap.
Fosu is emerging into a real quality championship winger and he knows how to feed the lethal Toney. Canos has taken his game to a new level. Ghoddos and Jensen were OK (good goal by Ghoddos) bu JDS has to be in that midfield before either of them when fit

Clear offside. Neither of their goals should have stood / happened.
Wells was so far offside, the ref must have thought the ball was played back by one of ours. Quick look at the highlights suggests he might have been right (Jensen). But I've only looked at it on my phone screen so could be wrong.

For all that we came close last year we never actually got into the top two at any point that I remember? Feels good. Now to stay there.

First half a bit meh. Much too slow and soft goal to concede early on. Still should have been ahead though. Much much better second half. Moved the ball quicker and got it up to Canos and Fosu who were having an absolute field day. Fantastic goal from Toney then the icing on the cake from Ghoddos. A bit more sloppy play at the end though to let them back in it. Need to cut that out, won't be good to be doing that v boro or Reading. Canos and Fosu were the perfect wide pairing today. Sergi just edging MOM for me for his intelligent play but Fosu v close. Pleased to see Ghoddos get the goal, he's going to get a few for us I think, hits it sooo hard! He gets in very good positions and you can see he's getting sharper and sharper. Still a lot more to come from him I think. Janelt and Jensen started to dictate things second half and really there only looked one team in it after the second went in. Frank will be pleased, if a little worried about the lapses we've had defensively. Not sure all the subs with 10 mins to go is helping keep concentration..

I got a bit worried towards the end when we started to make all the subs and playing players out of position, no one’s going to give us an easy game, another 3 points towards promotion.

When Toney went off I think Forss went central and Mads Roerslev played on the right wing. Ethan made it a bit more exciting than it needed to be, but up to second and Norwich seem to be having a bit of a wobble. Another draw for Norwich against Swansea on Friday would be handy

MBS went to left back with Reid playing central alongside Pinnock.

Roeslev played right midfield and Forss went up top.

It was a Jensen touch.

Commentator on Sky (O'Neill?) said Brentford don't have any great players like Norwich & Bournemouth and said we did it by
team effort, cheeky sod, hope that motivates our players to push it down his neck!
