It seems we always concede once RH has gone off, and usually from his side.

I'd bring JDS back but not Mbeumo
The place is Fosu’s to keep for now on merit. He may himself tire and need to be rotated out in a bit but having a player of Mbeumo’s quality to come on as a sub is going to be upsetting for many opponents and having the two of them vying for a place is great for us.

For me their second looked like their player kicked it and it hit Jensen and still went through. Is that not still offside? Wells was offside when their player first connected with that pass.

Yep

A little midweek gem, Toneys goal was a cracker. Delighted for both Canos and Ghoddos too.

Nice still having a bit of old school thoughts of sh*t here we go again near the end, I have faith but also a memory...its Brentford innit

Tonight we did something different, when we needed to win, we did. Thinking about our opponents, I'm celebrating with a few cans of Tennents Sweetheart Stout, a cracking set of cans 🍺😜:sorted:🐝

Stolen from my brother. On 1 Feb 2011 we lost 1-4 to Dagenham and Redbridge.
The times they are changing!
I remember that night well, as I was only 2 rows up from the dug out, having been invited by some Dagenham sponsors I was doing some work with. Andy Scott looked like he knew the writing was on the wall for him as manager at the final whistle, and sure enough, it was his last game, as he was fired the next day. The team that night looked a mess, with Karleigh Osborne and Andy Scott at loggerheads, and the MacDonald goal was barely even a consolation, for a side that looked totally dysfunctional once they had conceded the first. How things have changed as you say.

I should never drink before TV games. Was feeling particularly nervous before tonight. 0-1 after two minutes did nothing to calm me down.

Had to open the red wine (Rex Mundi) after finishing the Leffe Blonde. Things got better after that. Sergi scored a great equaliser. That called for another glass. Then a great cross from Fosu finds Toney. Bang! Back of the net! Refill required. 🎼”We are going up, we are going up” 🎼

Calm down lad, calm down! What’s next? Ghoddos. Cracking shot against the bar. Rebounds back out to him. SMACK! Back of the net !
What?? Glass empty again? - “Where’s my stick, Margaret?” (Acknowledgement to Half Man, Half Biscuit) Downstairs- another refill. “Where’s me whiskey?”

Now. - “Where’s me paracetamol?”

Exeunt all.

Great performance against a better than I expected Bristol, more impressive with the players who were out tonight.
Fosu was excellent, Canos another top game. Janelt is something else.

More the first half went on the better we got. 2nd half we dominated. AND WE CAN STILL PLAY BETTER !!

19 unbeaten, Up to 2nd in the league, 11 goals in two games.

Had a beer to toast this achievement

To be honest, I thought they had 2 Premier League standard players and 9 League 1 players. 3-2 didn't do us justice. We were 4 goals short of a fair result.

Great win against a decent team (albeit riddled with injuries). Fantastic Toney goal (and the others weren't bad at all). Pleased to see Ghoddos on the scoresheet. Great to see Jannsen so involved in the stands. Pleased Fosu got MoM. Janelt was also excellent.
But two very poor goals to concede. Defence of a set piece again appalling. What's the problem? And the second was terrible complacency. We've a good shout for going up but only if we iron out these problems.
A great win, and I thought we were on cruise control 2nd half. Their two goals were a bit fortunate because the first was from a free kick that shouldn’t have been given, quickly followed by poor defending by us. Their second was scored by a player in an offside position, again after lacklustre defending by us. I’m not sure that the late avalanche of subs was the wisest either! It turned out ok, but he did it a while back and it failed. I don’t suppose the new centre back is on first name terms with his teammates yet!

We definitely created chances to be more clear and we largely dominated but Bristol still put in a better performance than some.

Enjoyable game to watch, What a goal from Ivan as well.

On a different subject, Can anyone explain why was Mick McCarthy the Cardiff manager at the game? I thought in this lockdown it was Essential journeys only, Non of our supporters can get in, so why was he allowed to, And could our club get into trouble for allowing it????

McCarthy is our next Head Coach, hadn’t you heard!😂😂😂

Seriously though, Cardiff are away to Bristol City on Saturday, so he’s there to have a look at them.

Presumably, coaches are allowed to travel because of their work. I think he lives in Bromley, South East London/Kent.

Mick McCarthy waste of space, shouldn’t have been allowed in the stadium.

A mutuality agreement? A media pass? I agree with you, though. Nothing against Mick Mc.

Thomas has got to stop messing about with the back 4 in the last knockings of the game and could have cost us points again just like Blackburn back in December, bring on Reid and put Sorensen to left full back ok but there was no call to bring in Roslev it just causes confusion and albeit an offside goal it was still missed by the lino and given also put Bristol City on a high in thinking they could get a point out of the game and us under pressure for the final 7-8 minutes.

Roerslev played right wing, not at the back. But I think switching Pinnock from right centre back to left was at the root of the last goal. He wasn't having a good game and got himself a bit disorientated under pressure.

It's hard to criticise Thomas but at times some of his decisions are baffling. Subs galore against Blackburn cost us, having an open midfield against the most physical team on Saturday wasn't wise and then making subs last night as if we were 5 or 6 up. Thankfully he solved the problem early in the 2nd half against Wycombe and got away with it last night but sometimes decisions are bizarre. We're second so doing everything pretty much right but as Blackburn showed this league can bite you when you effectively give the signal the game is won.

I ended the game pretty nervous after their second goal when we should have been cruising. I agree that all the substitutions in final minutes caused sloppiness and confusion. TBH giving Rico fives minutes rest at the end seems pointless and gains very little. The end formation reminded me of the Barnsley game at end of last season when Thomas threw on so many subs it looked like no one knew where they were supposed to be playing. Anyway, minor quibble after another top performance

On the other hand, squad freshness is likely to be a key component of success in this intense season. A coach's ability to rest and rotate important players and use the full depth of the squad is likely to pay dividends later on. There is inevitably risk involved in this.

For us it is brilliant that we are still winning games and moving up the table with key players out injured. At various stages, JDS, Norgaard, Mbeumo, Jansen, Marcondes etc. are going to come back in fully refreshed, which can only add impetus to an already succeeding team.

I bet Warnock eyes are popping out when he sees two goals we have given away, Bristol and Wycombe balls crossed in from out wide

Ive been thinking the same , Im not looking forward to playing Dino's team who excel on anti football , being physical and balls into the box

I don't think any substitution decision has been baffling at all but the effect has caused concern at times. The main factor is not having Jansson on the pitch to provide the organisation under pressure. I hope Reid will be able to bring that – and quickly. Hopefully, we'll see Dasilva and Mbeumo available for selection on Saturday, even Marcondes, maybe Reid for Pinnock or Sørensen but it may be a bit too early.
