True, but we’ve had months to identify a replacement for Benrahma and backup for Mbeumo.
But if they players we want aren't currently available at a price we think is right then I'd rather the club held fire rather than bringing in someone who they don't rate.

Anyway, we won 7-2 let's just enjoy this weekend and leave transfer talk till Monday eh?

Funny old game - credit firstly for a team coming to Brentford and giving it a go. They certainly are not the worst side we have played.

I was confident we would win at HT but also felt HT came at a right time although I thought we were wasteful in the first half. Second half although we went 4-2 up didn't actually feel comfortable until Janeltat came on. Cracking second half and clinical in the last 10.

Finally, we sell £60m worth of forward talent and now top scorers in the league and a team on a roll. To score 7 at any level is an achievement but to do it twice in consecutive seasons in the second tier of English football is impressive.

A cracking afternoon had !

Stunning result and pretty much deserved against a "plucky" WW team. Still a bit of defensive concern though - with about 2 mins of injury time to go McCleary had a free shot on the edge of the box. We really do need to close them down quicker - he wasn't really ar*ed, but had it only been 3-2 he might have been a bit more determined. But that's me just nit-picking probably. COYB!

7 - 2 up and this is what your talking about.
It's still a fair point. One throw was on the half way line but taken just outside our penalty box. There's a general lack of consistency in reffing throws - many foul throws are ignored then you get a ref who's a stickler, same with taking the piss over place it's taken.

Best player in the first half by a country mile ?.....Janelt !! ....Must start against Brizzle he just stops bad things happening before they do !! He’d arguably have stopped both Wycombe goals by tackling the big man which Jensen missed and he’d have broken up play as they attacked direct from their kick off .
Ultimately that was great fun to watch one of those mad games you get in a season , win again on Tuesday and we’re back in our rightful 2nd place which is the minimum we should be aiming for.

Had to take the dog out at HT. I left muttering about dropping points etc. I came back and we were 4-2 up. Then more goals. Nuts!

First half had shades of Burton away when we were 3-1 down at HT and appeared to have forgotten how to defend balls in the box. But even then, we were by far the better team first half in both games and turned it on by just keeping doing what we're good at. Nice to have got the game at theirs in the Coppell season out of the system too!

We needed Jansson in that first half. Complete disorganisation in defence and no leadership, centre backs all over the place, Rico had a mare –that's when he really comes into his own.

Not complaining about result or performance or anything, but cannot agree we were the better team in the 1st half today, never mind "by far".

And certainly couldn't breathe out until Ivan's peno lodged in the corner of the net.

Really strong second half showing, cant really complain when you win 7-2 but teams seem to know high balls into the box are our downfall, need to be much sharper and not give away such cheap goals.

4 consecutive home wins now in the league? Maybe the players truly feel LR as home.

Swansea we needed to be more clinical worked on that and today get 7 goals

today absolute shambles from balls into the box let’s now work on that and be better by the next game, also stop giving away stupid free kicks in wide areas

I think janelt or norgaard must always play as that midfield anchor although I like Jensen he’s not strong enough for that role

our class completely shone through today They huffed and puffed but were just not technically good enough to beat us,they will win games like that against lesser teams tho

They had three good efforts, two down to inexplicably poor defending, one of which was an excellent finish where at most you could have said perhaps Jensen could have been a bit beefier with his challenge on Ikpeazu (who looks like a younger, more mobile, Akinfenwa). Other than that we opened them up repeatedly, forced several saves off their keeper and looked like we would score every time we went forward. As indeed we pretty much did in the second half.

Yes. And Canos turned that game around I remember. Hence the scenes at the railway station.:sorted:

31 or 32 games by the Reading side that won the league a few years (2206 maybe??) ago.
