does anyone have a copy of the video the club released of TV matches in the 70's/80's (was it called "Bees on the Box")? I think it had the "Big Match" Watford and Sheff Wed games frm the late 70s. £50 donated to Bees United if anyone can get me a copy? (Although I probably shouldn't say this I'd be just as happy with a duplicated copy of it, or even better have it on a DVD).

I went to LWT and got the rights cleared for the video and Keith Loring sold it in the club shop. I'll speak to Craig about a re-issue on Monday, I've got a copy somewhere if you want to dupe it.

does it by any chance include highlights of the
aldershot and grimsby games that were televised
by 'the big match' in the 71-2 promotion season?

thank you

the walsall game was inexplicably featured on match of the day
and we won 3-2. i'm not sure if it was hurlock's debut.
i seem to remember paul walker scoring at least one of the goals

good luck with the re-issue

I have a copy and funnily enough was watching it the other week. You are welcome to borrow it for copying (if that's still allowed now that VHS is almost obselete). Yes it does include all the games mentioned by Beesotted - great Stevie Phillips goals against Wednesday plus two from Mark Hill against walsall one being an og. In the end I gave £50 to BU and thought I'd wait to buy a copy from the club shop. Is a dvd version still going ahead, or is it dead in the water with the change of personnel at the shop?

Surely there must be some demand for this?

There's copyright issues. You can't just duplicate the VHS and crack on with it. LWT or whoever holds the rights need to be paid.

I suspect Craig was going to "crack on with it" and that could have led the club into hot water.

Surely it's worth someone at the club/club shop looking into it? (I won't hold my breath.) If they got it on vhs in the first place there must be a chance they can get the copyright cleared for a new format?

Of course, but it depends on how much the copyright holder would assign the rights for.
