Birmingham finished the season after lockdown poorly and were lucky to survive relegation and must be one of the favourites to go down.

I expect us to win tomorrow and can't see them troubling us. I don't think it be pretty but a good but scrappy 2-0 win.

Toney and Canos.

No idea, we've better players so should win but it's so different from the usual start of season. No late summer clad hugely expectant crowds. I assume no Raya or Benrahma. Strange feeling that it's all just an extension of Covid football weirdness. Back room staff really going to have to earn their money getting the psychology right. COYB

Really difficult to predict. Karanka will have them better organised than they were last season, however they'll again have gone from trying to play football to a less expansive style so will still be learning the ropes. Heart says I fancy us to take advantage but head says 1-1 Toney..

0-0 They have a squad full of absolute cloggers and we won't be firing on all cylinders. Plus they've signed Adam Clayton who is always a pain the arse.

Hate playing against Karanka teams. Undoubtably we are the better team, but I expect either a boring 0-0, or a 1-0 defeat.

We need to hit the ground running and win our first game for a change. The way we operate means all too often we struggle at the start of a season till new players or even tactics bed in.

I swore to myself that I would stay away from the prediction threads this season, but old habits and all that.

If it is a typical Karanka side we will find it difficult.

We owe them big time, for the first game of last season.

Brum Scum 1-2 Super Bees (Canos, Toney)

I'll be delighted if we're totally outplayed, have 30% possession, they have 25 shots, but we score with a header from the halfway line totally against the run of play having no other shots but win 0-1. Could never happen in real life of course........

The friendlies have indicated nothing due to international absences and little time to get our mojo going. We absolutely have to get on track again with solid defending. If we do that l'd say a win. If not Stoke again.

News reports say Birmingham has a spike in COVID-19 cases. What are the chances of tomorrow’s games being postponed?

Chesterfield away in 2004 again. 3-1 to the awful Brummies and meltdown on here.

I shall like a lot of us fans watch this game with disappointment, just think what could have been.

We must move on a least a point today. The Birmingham team have more to do today in adapting to the Karanka way of playing.

We only have one who has to adapt his way of playing to ours

I’m going for a 2 1 win for us , just to get the season started
