Another massive game…Everton got injuries, suspensions and poor form so should be a decent time to play em….if we can actually play the right team and set up I’m confident…..going 2-1 is (Toney and Bryan)….proper scenes at full time 👏👏👏👍🤞

3-1. Ivan to carry on scoring, Wissa to come on and carry on scoring, and a Janelt belter from outside the box.

Lets not write this lot off. Loads of injuries but there are still some very good players in that squad.

They should be higher so im going for 1-1.

0-0 which would mean we have stopped shipping goals at last. I'm sure we will create a few chances, we always do so would be happy if we take one. Everton are no mugs and Benitez is a smart coach. I wonder if the players are not doing it for him though which could be enough to push us over the line. Be nice to go in at halftime without conceding.

Must win... as two of my Isleworth primary school mates from the 80s, who I'm still in touch with, are Toffees (yep they stuck with them after '85!) and this one has been a loooooong time coming 😉🐝⚽

Took a quick look at the match thread on a couple of Everton websites: ToffeeWeb - The Fans - WebBoards

It appears to be Doom & Gloom all round at Goodison, they're not at all hopeful. Have as many imjuries as us, too.

So I won't predict a score, but will predict a Bees win. :sorted:

Everton worst team in the league atm, but Benitez is cunning. Expect the bus to be parked but bees scrape home 1-0

Would love a 1-0 with a goal from Toney and a rock solid defense...

...but suspect it will be a 2-2 basketball game!

First game for this keeper not to concede and bees goals by Ivan x2 , Bryan and Ethan 4-0 and the fools at MOTD2 will still concentrate on some other game in West London

My neighbour is a Everton fan so hopefully some bragging rights. He's been "supportive" of us all season.

the atmosphere has been very good imho
The Leicester Sunday avo game was very flat atmos wise, certainly when compared to Arsenal or Liverpool on Friday and Saturday evenings respectively.

It's the usual catch 22 though isn't it, do the fans get the team going or the team get the fans going. Nothing new there for Bees or any other club for that matter, sometimes it clicks and sometimes it doesn't.

The atmosphere for those games and Chelsea were brilliant . Its the same for any club but the West Stand against Leicester was 10 times louder than most Sunday 2 pm prem games i have seen

I can’t remember who against but one of Everton’s Sunday games had a very flat atmosphere on telly and they had 40k+ in and a traditional ground and support. No point in beating ourselves up over atmosphere, just do our bit on the day. West Stand is intentionally the place to stand and be loud so if the other stands are quieter that’s no surprise and it’s in the hands of those there to make more noise if they want. But in the end the players should perform regardless and when they’re giving it a good go always get the support up.

What do you mean "if"? I'm turning up, what more do you want?! ;)
Maybe we should have a chorus of “Edmundo, woah oh, he lives in Syd-er-ney, but he’s always been a Bee”?

I think we need to put up a sign on our internal wall near the away dressing room, reminding Begovic not to kick it in again when they lose.

Bees 2 Toffees stuck to 0!

I predict whichever numpty they have in goal gets a lot of abuse, loses his head, gets sent off and numpty number 2 comes on to even more abuse.
Final whistle sees a 3-1 win.

I can picture it now:

Chapman ( who I like btw): let’s talk about Everton. After a good start to the season, is Rafa beginning......

5 minutes later....

Chapman: and a good win for Brentford

Shearer: yep

Chapman: right that’s all we’ve got time for. Don’t forget tomorrow we’ll have live coverage of the junior division under 7s UFC extravaganza love on bbc three at 1am......

As long as the “good win for Brentford” part is true I’m happy. Both of them are quite supportive of us on R5 which is more focused on listeners who know about the game and MotD is more for the casual fans who only watch the big clubs on the telly. Iirc Chapman has long come to watch the Bees as his local club well before it was at all fashionable - I’m sure he used to mention it way back when he was Sara Cox’s news and sport sidekick.

This is what my Everton supporting mate said when I asked him if Benitez was serving up good football:
“God, Everton are hard work at the moment. Not El Gordo's fault, he just walked into a stinky lift, he didn't fart in it. We are ravaged by injury and the weakness of the squad is a disgrace given the money spent over the last few years. We should be just the ticket for arresting Brentford's current poor run of form :)

Bryan to hit the post and score from the rebound.
Pressure on Rafa when we go above them.
Hope they pick Begovic ahead of Pickford. Bees legend, should get a sarcastic heroes reception imho.

Or just reinforce it with concrete behind the wall panel and wait...

If they go with Rondon and Tosun it will be important to stop/defend crosses. Don't want them causing issues. Both those two pretty hopeless but both big strikers still cause problems.

Even with all the injuries they have, they’ll be stronger than pretty much any side we faced in the league last season. Can’t be taken lightly.

They’ll see this game as a potential banana skin too and one that could easily go the way of their 5-2 reverse recently against Watford. So I expect that they’ll be very motivated to do a professional job defensively and avoid such a scenario.

Based on the above I anticipate a tight game with perhaps Everton edging it. I’ll go for 0-1.

HOWEVER, if we can make BCS a proper cauldron and we can get a fast start and rattle them I believe we have the quality to pull off an upset. We have to make the uncomfortable and doubting themselves.
