John Akinde fro me....when he played for WW he was mustard....You Reds....
Definitely up there. Eddie May also. Leo Fortune-West.Paul Davis
Yes. Drewe Broughton is in the mix also.Lorenzo Pinamonte
I seem to recall that Detzi played well for us when on loan at the end of our promotion season... and then he signed for us and played only a few games the following season! All those above, plus Kruszynski,
Cullip was ok wasnt he ?I seem to recall either Leon Townley arriving from Spurs or Danny Cullip coming in from Fulham creating a bit of a buzz, neither of them worked out of course.
Only made 15 apps by the time he left (Wikipedia), although he was steady enough I think. I just remember (probably Townley) a bit of publicity and excitement about one of them when they arrived without them ever living up to the hype.Cullip was ok wasnt he ?
More than one soft goal... almost one a game!!Bill Glazier, played crap, gave away a soft goal and retired!
To be fair HH was a hard act to follow.Scott Marshall - Arsenal pedigree and replaced Herman. Was garbage.
I think he was only signed on the basis of 'that' goal for Wycombe at GP.John Akinde fro me....when he played for WW he was mustard....You Reds....
He was truly awful, and I think makes it into most Worst Ever Brentford XI's.Paul Davis
One of those that were brilliant when he was on loan, but ***** when he was signed permanently.Scott Canham
Highlight would probably have been hitting the post at Filbert Street.I seem to recall that Detzi played well for us when on loan at the end of our promotion season... and then he signed for us and played only a few games the following season!
Was that the Air France one that crashed?Alan Whitehead (after Fred Callaghan's quote of "better in the air than Concorde")
Nine appearances.Bill Glazier, played crap, gave away a soft goal and retired!
In my minds eye Marshall came good and showed why he was signed towards the end of his Bees careerScott Marshall - Arsenal pedigree and replaced Herman. Was garbage.
That seems to be a re-curing theme.Lee Frost for me, brilliant on loan, useless when we signed him permanently.
Tony Funnell is a bit harsh.Scott Marshall, Tony Funnell, Nicky Adams, Cleveland Taylor, Calum Willock - more to come I am sure!
Along with Davis, this has to be up there!! What a shocker.Shipperley was supposed to put 1,000 on the gate.Turns out he was putting 2,000 calories just on his breakfast
Harsh, very harsh. Got effed-up by our own pitch. Own goal of a huge proportion. Someone's head should have rolled over that disgraceful pitch...............Bjellend............
It’s been mentioned many times why Williams was signed......The Hoff was disappointing and the Ryan Williams signing was just strange. There’s actually been a few recently, Gogia, Kersch, Tebas and of course, Betty. Can’t get them all right.
Had a great debut, but it was downhill after that. Also the "wee gem" (to use McLintock's words) Rowan Alexander: wee he was, a gem he was not.
