Scott Marshall - Arsenal pedigree and replaced Herman. Was garbage.

Focusing on recent arrivals Will Grigg

There was a fair amount of excitement around Nicky Adams signing....not sure what went wrong there

Robbie Nielson falls into the category of players of whom we'd have done better had we not signed him...

Marshall, the Icelandic lad from Arsenal who suffered a bad injury, McEachran (so far), Grigg, Hofmann. Folan in a way as well.

I seem to recall either Leon Townley arriving from Spurs or Danny Cullip coming in from Fulham creating a bit of a buzz, neither of them worked out of course.

Mark McCammon, Ricky Newman, David McCracken, John Mackie and Big Nick were also awful or way below what I expected them to be.

Only made 15 apps by the time he left (Wikipedia), although he was steady enough I think. I just remember (probably Townley) a bit of publicity and excitement about one of them when they arrived without them ever living up to the hype.

Alternatively I may be talking utter nonsense :D

Paul Davis was my instant thought.

Kind of agree with Rebus' Leo Hounslow West but not sure I expected too much from him.

Murray Jones must rate a mention and Alan Whitehead (after Fred Callaghan's quote of "better in the air than Concorde")

John Akinde fro me....when he played for WW he was mustard....You Reds....
I think he was only signed on the basis of 'that' goal for Wycombe at GP.

I seem to recall that Detzi played well for us when on loan at the end of our promotion season... and then he signed for us and played only a few games the following season!
Highlight would probably have been hitting the post at Filbert Street.

Was that the Air France one that crashed?

Record signing at the time I think.

Lee Frost for me, brilliant on loan, useless when we signed him permanently.

He seemed to have played quite a number of games for us which suggests he wasn’t all bad, but I seem to remember him being extremely slow and a really poor reader of the game which was disappointing given his pedigree. Also we paid a significant amount for him at the time which made it worse. Scored a few OGs as well

The Hoff was disappointing and the Ryan Williams signing was just strange. There’s actually been a few recently, Gogia, Kersch, Tebas and of course, Betty. Can’t get them all right.

Jesus some of these names are making me break out in a cold sweat. I keep thinking - he was the worst then someone comes up with someone even worse. Paul Davis and Murray Jones take some beating though.

We all chipped in and got.....
Shipperly.
Not even a 1000 on the gate could sweeten that deal.

Sweetzer very disappointing second time around after being so good originally. Also the "wee gem" (to use McLintock's words) Rowan Alexander: wee he was, a gem he was not.

..............Bjellend............
Harsh, very harsh. Got effed-up by our own pitch. Own goal of a huge proportion. Someone's head should have rolled over that disgraceful pitch.

It’s been mentioned many times why Williams was signed......
