£12.00 return from South Ruislip to Birmingham Moor Street (1.9 miles from St Andrews) Just booked it, looks like a standard price.

I managed to get Virgin trains dirt cheap - 9:43-11:08 out and 18:10-19:33 back - six of us for about £40!

We're going to take absolutely loads to this I reckon, even if it's not a new ground for most. Cheap day right after a couple of very expensive ones.

£20 adults
£15 students
£10 under 19s
£5 under 13s

That's what they charged a couple of teams I looked at anyway, pretty decent.

Leeds / Norwich / other dinosaur teams need to take note of this.

Agreed. Particularly Leeds, who have a massively bigger fanbase than their home average of just 23,561 suggests. If they had Birmingham's ticket prices I've no doubt they'd pull 30k regularly.

Those going up by train on the Chiltern Line, let's hope the line is up and running by then! There was a land slip yesterday and my daughter is having to use New St to Euston line to come home today and tickets still valid, thankfully. They say it will take a week to sort it out, let's hope it does and not 4 weeks!

It will be done in a week.
Can't have the posh line down for too long, too many important people
use that line, if you know what I mean.

If I can use a cheapo Chiltern ticket on a Virgin Train, that suits me fine. Could also then claim back from Chiltern for the disruption!

Chiltern site and into Moor Street.

London Midland have a £20 anywhere deal at the moment so if you can't get the Chiltern one then that's your next one. (into New Street).

The BBC local news reported yesterday that the Chiltern Line between Leamington Spa and Banbury is expected to stay shut for several weeks, quoting Network Rail.

Travel options for passengers travelling from London to West Midlands:

1. Head to Euston where Chiltern Railways tickets are being accepted on London Midland and Virgin. London Underground will also accept tickets between Marylebone and Euston. Advance tickets between the West Midlands and London should be used within an hour of the time booked.

Happy days if line still out of action. :kingkev:

Anyone know how this works?
Got tickets on Chiltern line from Beaconsfield.
Would our tickets include from Burnham to Euston? If not it makes more sense to drive from here...

If you're on twitter, send them a message re your query, they do reply and quite quickly. Or email them, the same again, they do reply. Had questions re my daughter and chiltern railways were great.

An initial statement gave info on where you can use tickets on other services, but that's disappeared now, my link above is just the news story updated.
