I'm doing a boat for the game at Orient - Saturday 15th March.

This could be a vital game in our promotion push and there's no better way of going to the game than a cruise down the Thames.

We depart from Putney Pier at 11.00 to arrive at North Greenwich (O2 Arena) for 13.00 and the short onward tube journey to Leyton.

There'll be a pay bar on board and there should be sausage and bacon butties available too.

Prices are £10 Adults, £5 kids. If I do make any profit it'll be put back into something for the benefit of Brentford FC.

The usual couple of points to note please:
No alcohol to be taken on board please.
The boat is one way only so you'll need to make your own way home/onwards after the game.

PM me if you're interested (or see me at a future game).

COYR!!

Nice suggestion Bish. I'll either do that or split any profits 50:50 with the official Away Travel lot. I think they do a sterling job in running a coach (or more) to pretty much every single away game although for one or two games the demand/finances make that a bit touch and go. I take my hat off to the coach die-hards and hope a bit of funding might make the difference the next time it might be in question

Hi Mate

I will be up for this and will add my numbers through the usual PJ contingent.

Please can I suggest any left over funds are donated to http://www.themulberrycentre.co.uk/about-us/ based at West Mid University Hospital, Isleworth. BFC already have strong links with the organisation.

See you soon.

Just a thought, being as balloons are more or less lightbulb shaped can't we get some printed up to look like giant lightbulbs for the Orient game with "Brentford FC lighting up Orient since 1889" on them, sell them before and on the boats with a mark up and donate the profits to charity.

Second boat confirmed!!

We have a total capacity for 250 and I have almost 190 names so far. I expect both boats to sell out so, to repeat Fencer's point, if you've booked places please pay for them up front.

The second boat is almost sold out. I've made a provisional booking on a third boat.

Having consulted the charts and tides etc. we need to embark from Putney at 10.30 (NOT 11.00 as previously indicated) - basically we are sailing against the tide so need to allow 2 1/2 hours to get to North Greenwich.

I should have boat tickets for the Walsall game. All places to be paid for in advance please.

Being as we are going by boat can we take flares !
If you've still got some, wear them. It'll be great to hear the chant of "Lionel Blairs" again

:D

Left London early, drinking on the train, Hooters for 11:00, 3.5 hours drinking. Down to the ground in no fit state to watch the match. My Running Mate West Ham Lee lasted about five minutes in the ground before telling me he was going back to Hooters. After about 15 minutes of being sat down in the ground staring at my shoes not even able to watch the match with everything spinning I decided to join him.

When I got to Hooters he was not there, so I decided to try and sleep off the booz on a nearby wall. I awoke from my drucken state to believe that I was being felt up by a bird, I was under the impression that woman from Nottingham view drunken football fans as potential life partners and thought I could well be in. However I soon realised that in fact it was not some fit bird at all but some scumy 13 year old girl nicking my mobile phone in front of all her mates. By the time I realised what was going on it was too late. Despite my remonstrations she had my phone denied all knowledge and passers by could only see a drunken yob arguing with children, they were only ever come down on one side :mad1: In my rage I kicked the wall that I had been asleep on, perhaps a little harder than anticipated and when I took my shoe off my foot was covered in blood and quickly swelled to a point where I could not put it on again, fortunately the amount of booz I had consumed acted as a great pain suppressant.

By this stage the kids had buggered off laughing at me and a concerned passer by pointed me in the direction of a local NHS walk in surgery so I headed down there and got my cut bruised toe bandaged. However in the melee I left my shoe in the doctors without realising it. I met up with all the lads just after the final whistle and had a good drink on the way home.

As a foot note I bumped in West Ham Lee when I got off the train at St Pancras (by chance as some Northern kids still had my phone) who had consumed so much alcohol during the day he had no recollection of what had happened to him from the point he left the ground to the point where I met him in London.

I was a postman at the time and by the Sunday the drink had worn off and I was unable to walk and in a lot of pain. I ended up having to take 3 days off work to recover and rest my foot.

Despite my run in with the Nott's County Female Youth all in all it was a pretty good day out and like Alan Partridge I bounced back :sorted:
