Jesus this sad. Jambo's son said everyone was turning round on way out for one last glimpse
I went back and had a look the day before the season restarted. Stood there for about five minutes before leaving and still kept looking over my shoulder.

Still not sure if I'm going to do the tour.

Me and dad went on the tour today.

Saw parts of the ground I've never seen before.

View from seats in Brook road amazing!!

Sad day as this will be my last visit to GP, but have lots of amazing memories.

Apart from the rain, it was very enjoyable. What really impressed me was the view from the top tier of The Wendy House. Best view in the ground.
Yes I agree, first time I had seen the ground from there. But having tried the legroom I think I would have passed.

For anyone that's been already. Is it a case of the tour guide takes you to each stand and you can mill about at your own pace?

Peoe have posted plenty of pictures, that they took, on Facebook.

I didn't realise that there was still some of the old terracing, on the corner of New Road and Brook Road.

I noticed that too and took a picture also. Never been in that corner of the ground since the wendy house was built and never seen the remnants. Strangely unemotional after my visit today probably because i would rather remember the ground as it was with the Brook Road terrace rising up as it did and tge New Road going right to the back.

Had the tour this evening. Nice experience to see the place one last time but very hard not to get emotional at the end when you realise that you’re walking out of the gates for the very last time.

You get about 45 minutes total so about 10 minutes per stand. We were taken around by Mike Sullivan (Commercial Manager) who appreciated that we didn't really want a tour just time in each stand, but he was able to answer any questions we had.

Says, one of your party should bring their season ticket, or you may be refused entry.
Some season ticket holders are still waiting for their slot to go

Was unsure about going, and it felt quite odd walking around, but for the last 5 minutes, knowing I was about to leave for the final time, and with one last chance to look back, it did get to me.

Goodbye old girl. Looking forward to the new gaff, one day my kid will feel about Lionel Road the same I do for GP.

Bit of a shame that the banners are still up. Wanted to see it in all it's glory not with 50% of the seats covered by tarpaulin.

Can you transfer tickets? We've got a booking for 10.15am this morning but my dad is now unwell. If anyone is interested please let me know - 2 tickets. :(

Ditto, I've got one ticket I can't use for tomorrow at 12.45, tried to contact the club but 'due to the pandemic' they're closed, apparently.

Just cancel your tickets on the eventbrite website.

People can then see that there are returns and book them for themselves.

Ffs train cancellations from Waterloo to Brentford!! Wouldn’t have it any other way though. Final row with ticket staff for being late and not having my season ticket with me, then QPR will probably turn up. Brentford innit. :sorted:

Went yesterday and arrived early. Was told to "wait by those bins" until I was called for my time slot. Wouldn't have had it any other way!

Went today, happy to report no problem getting in,. Plenty of time to walk around the stadium I have been happy to spend years watching us grow and achieve more than I ever thought possible in the days of division 4, to be historic. Thank you Brentford, for enabling me to say goodbye in my own way.

Just got back having done to tour with Mrs WB. Most enjoyable, and nice to be able to sit in our seats for the last time.

Can you sit in NR mate.?
Jnr and I could yesterday Ace in N506. There are some seats not accessible in the central blocks as they are covered over at the aisles to segregate the yellow / red zone or whatever they were called.

Just been this afternoon all very relaxed plenty of time to look around and take photos
after the post yesterday about some of the old terrace between brook rd and New rd
still being there took a photo of it, had to be done.

Felt very strange sad and lifeless in a way, the last thing I did was take a photo of Brentford FC
sign above from where I have stood on countless occasions in The forecourt watching different ex players
of various clubs come in and obviously moaning with others about the manager/ the team selection/whatever player
we had a down on at that time/ the referee/the tactics of the opposition and on and on.

I have spent countless hours in there and it always felt like home today it didn't
Glad I went for the photos but left feeling homeless

Berkshire, Lboro was my uni!
Still royally cheesed off - they managed to send me an email today as a ST holder, about reduced capacity in the future, but none before about this tour.

Feel the same after 41 years of enjoyment and sadness in the ground. But glad I went.

Are you able to share this photo? I'm sure I will have seen it back in the HC days but I genuinely don't remember...

I went today, obviously not as nice with it being empty and quiet, but better than not being in it at all.
The guide was pretty good and managed to get to my seat for photos.

So sad we won't get to see a game there anymore, thanks Covid :(

Had a really good day. Enjoyable tour - the ground felt very sad but it was good to be back. Plenty of time in all areas. Actually enjoyed upstairs in the Wendy house. Great view and tried to remember what it was like standing in the Royal Oak. Only downside which will annoy some. Was asked by one chap to take a photo of him by the dug outs. After which he said 'Oh I'm a Saints fan really - I just like coming to these small old grounds. He got a few funny looks from the group. Annoying how he got a ticket!!
Had a good pint of Pride outside the Griffin then walked to Lionel Road. Beautiful stadium. So different. Very surreal day.

I've been a fan since 1972, and didn't even receive an email.

Could but to be honest the actual amount of the terrace you could see was 2/3 square yards its got the floodlight pylon on then very much overgrown
with thick weeds so no chance of the actual scope of the terrace as it was.

But if you are doing the tour as you go up the Brook rd stairs look to your right and down

Did it yesterday very well organised and glad I did it.without being dramatic it was like visiting an old friend on their deathbed you look back to when this was a fit and proper stadium and brilliant memories of it mostly when we had poor teams. In all honesty will be glad to see the back of it in its present state.Well done the club for doing this
