Train services are that restricted that there are none at all it seems.

I think we should act like QPR fans over this, and send irate letters with lots of adjectives to the FA. 🤓

Who will send them back and say send them to the Premier League.
Nothing to do with us. 😜.
As Christmas is coming we get confused and send irate letters with "wtf and give us our game back mother f**kers and oh by the way merry Christmas and Happy New year from Bob and Margaret and all the family"

Have you ever sent the wrong Christmas cards to someone?
Do people do that?
I have.
Wrong envelope.

If Nanny says back to topic then just say we changed it.

We can complain all we want but the KO won't change. I would far rather both clubs do all they can to help make it easy and safe for fans to get to/from the game, including realistic parking options (bearing in mind it is Boxing day evening and "normal" parking restrictions will not apply).

Event day parking restrictions will apply in the area and if it say permit holders only then it means that 365 days a year.

Yes, appreciate that. But those restrictions must have an end point - it would be useful to know where the restricted area actually is. I'm happy to walk 30-40 mins if that means being able to get away smoothly at the end!

I'd guess that B&HA will make some additional arrangements and (here's hoping) include a P+R from locations a bit further out.

For once, this has all worked out tremendously well for me.

Looking forward to eating crimbo leftovers and watching the racing at Kempton before taking a stroll down the pub for a couple of beers at The Plough in Rottingdean and then a taxi the short distance to the AMEX.

Not to mention that the reduced attendance because of transport/kick off time will give me a much greater chance of securing a ticket in the away end as I had originally feared I would be in one of the home ends for this one.

But then, I'm a selfish bastard. :hat:

I do find it strange that they've not done some sort of parking deal with Sussex University which is pretty well opposite the ground.

They have but only for premium members

Brighton City Council impose restrictions all year round to protect the residents.
That area is the whole of the city apart from a handful of roads.
Woodingdean is south of the Amex and a good 45 minute walk over the downs on a road straight to the ground with no pavement iirc, but I could be wrong.
Pray for no adverse weather.
The park and ride from Mill Road and the Racecourse too.
Trust me I have looked and I will keep looking.

Almost every Brighton fan I have met is not going.
Almost every Brighton fan my brother has met is not going and he lives in Worthing.
Their tickets are useless to anyone bar themselves as they are face recognition I understand.

Will the university car parks opposite not be open for this? Hard to imagine a time when the uni will be quieter.

We do.
If this was a home game then we would not give a monkeys.
We want to go and we will, but it's not been made easy or should I say easier.

Could be worse…..you could be in Northern Ireland with my in laws 😁

Who on gods earth, other than Brentford and brighton fans are going to turn on a football at at 8PM on Boxing day? If it was Man Unt v Liverpool I bet only man unt and Liverpool fans would watch it at that time.

What a stupid idea, I will have it on the ipad with the volume down whilst pretending to enjoy the usual forced fun in the front room.

The most ridiculous time for a Boxing Day match, even with limited parking and no trains I would have made the effort to drive down from Twickers if it had been a lunchtime KO, but that's the penalty you pay when SKY rule our game, can't see a very big turn out from both sets of fans, At least I can watch it live on the box with a few drinks to hand.

huge empty tranches at tonight’s 20.00 fixture at Reading v Bournemouth, a match that you’d expect to be at full capacity had it been at 15.00

Perhaps the club should treble the taps points for this game that would sell a few more seats proper loyal fans get rewarded ??
TAP's won't get you there and back, though...

This calls for the club to lay on some cheap coaches with match tickets. Can’t have people turning this down in droves due to the kick-off time.
Options are being looked at, even train chartering (which I doubt will be possible)

Car of 4 and park on yellows, if you get a fine agree to share and pay straight away and it’s usually halved. £70 fine becomes £35, shared between 4 and worse case scenario less than £10 a head
Just don't park on double yellows and just make sure it isn't towed away.
There are some places, not many, too park.
The less home fans that go the more chances we have.
I am having a good look at the moment.
