Centre forward from Bognor Regis? Woon, hat trick on his debut if I remember correctly.twas ever thus... just our targets are no longer £5,000 buys from Cambridge or a £500 centre forward from Bognor Regis. So subjective whatever the level of our targets then or now.
Half the fun of following a club rather than football in general.
Thought he was very good , couple of his runs were brilliantThought he was OK against Arsenal - lovely pace and sense but he didn't to me have the level of ball control you would expect spending £20M on
If the asking price as reported is 14 million and we cannot got the fella from Shakhtar might be worth doing if we can? Although i suspect Forest won’t deal at that price .. he certainly isn’t worth anymore IMO.Thought he was very good , couple of his runs were brilliant
Another hat-trick against Port Vale.Centre forward from Bognor Regis? Woon, hat trick on his debut if I remember correctly.
Bryan is from Bognor?!?!Another hat-trick against Port Vale.

Think that is the problem they want £14 Million nowThink people need to remember right now he probably isn’t a 10/15 million player on current ability. However, if we do get him (I don’t think we will), we’re buying him more for his potential ability rather than his current ability.
But again, that’s because they know his value is only going to increase as time goes by. The fact he’s only 20 is why we want him, and why he has that price tag.Think that is the problem they want £14 Million now
I refer to your first line, if he is not a £10-£15 Million player now then we shouldn't be expected to pay that now.But again, that’s because they know his value is only going to increase as time goes by. The fact he’s only 20 is why we want him, and why he has that price tag.
Is it? How much would you pay for Rhian Brewster now? More than the £23.5m Sheff U paid for him as a 20 year old? More than the £40m buy back clause Liverpool have? Even someone very highly rated at that age who gets a big money move and gets to play regularly doesn’t always perform straightaway or keep on that upward trajectory. Brewster might kick on next season or a few seasons later. Or not. Even ones who take a few more years to get back on the trajectory early promise showed don’t command £15m- Toney being a prime example when he came to us. He’s done brilliantly but still is finding goals in short supply. Had we been outbid back in 2020 by Fulham (spit!) he might have had a fruitless PL season with them and maybe now not doing in the Championship as well as he did for us.But again, that’s because they know his value is only going to increase as time goes by. Brewster has done absolutely nothing with Sheffield United. Johnson is performing regularly for Forest at the age of 20, In three years time he’ll be 23, who can predict what level he’ll be at that age, or a few years after when he’s 26/27 in his prime years. If the club do go back in for him, they clearly see real potential in him.Is it? How much would you pay for Rhian Brewster now? More than the £23.5m Sheff U paid for him as a 20 year old? We love a player with potential but “one for the future” who smashes our transfer record doesn’t fit our finances and needs at all unless Phil G is willing to bet the farm. If he is, I’m super excited and will give him and the club full credit for boldness because on the basis of what he’s actually done, Johnson doesn’t look like a £15m player who we’ll sell to Man City for £60m in three years.
Brewster at 20 had fired Swansea into the Championship play offs. He was pretty much at an identical stage to Johnson now when he moved to Sheff U who also saw big potential and Liverpool also saw enough to want a buy back. If we buy him, yes, it means we think he’s going to be a better player than Benrahma. But it’s not a sure thing and players of that age can, like Brewster, go for big money then do nothing.Brewster has done absolutely nothing with Sheffield United. It does seem to be an inflated price, no one else appears interested. If the non activity continues can only see Forest dropping their price.Think that is the potential stumbling block... Forest or at least thier fans want what he is potentially worth. He is probably not worth that now and paying an inflated price means tgat he is no longer an attractive investment.
If Forest believe in him that muxh then maybe they should negotiate a bigger sell on.
They dont like us much so I'd love us to put a bid in to Boro for their RB who is loan at the City ground.
Quite apart from the fact the he looks very comfortable in posession and passes and crosses well he has great balance, pace and finishes clinically. A fine athlete if not as outrageously gifted as Mudryk. It does seem to be an inflated price, no one else appears interested. If the non activity continues can only see Forest dropping their price.
Agree he looks good in the Championship, Mudryk is special I think. The Dofs will not be drawn into paying over the odds for either player, in the Dofs we trust.Quite apart from the fact the he looks very comfortable in posession and passes and crosses well he has great balance, pace and finishes clinically. Where have you seen that? Our friend Nixon saying that we have agreed a fee of 15m plus ons with forest .
Nothing on his Twitter. Presumably someone having a bit of fun.
Can’t see anything about him and us on his timeline in last couple of days
It’s a fake account with 30 followersOur friend Nixon saying that we have agreed a fee of 15m plus ons with forest .
Thought he had signed a pre-contract with Besiktis?Jed Wallace apparently leaving Millwall and is off to Forest (multiple online links), getting their replacement in before Brennan goes?![]()
Yeah WatkinsI'll always resent Brewster for scoring the last ever goal in a professional game at Griffin Park.
Should have been a Bee
Bees let's get this deal done!!! It's a brentford type signing
Nobody else snapped up Vitaly. Just saying…Do you really think breaking our transfer record on this player is justified ?..... i'm not having a pop just mystified some people on here want to spend 15m on him, i honestly don't even see his value above 5m , also if he is that good how come some of the bigger clubs haven't snapped him up ?

Need to trust the process sometimes
I understand you think it’s a high price tag, but if you were forest would you think he’s valued at £5m or less? He’s a young player that I think has got a massive future. I’m pretty confident that at some point in his career he will be worth more than £15m and that’s what it’s about isn’t it? I got nothing against Brentford spending 15m on a player, if the club truly think he is worth the risk, just my opinion, but i don't think he is that good, but we will see over the next few years, who ever he plays forI understand you think it’s a high price tag, but if you were forest would you think he’s valued at £5m or less? Really good postYou can only guess his valuation based on what the press are saying.
But for us to make a few bids on him is a good enough sign that brentford fc have scouted him and must have ticked all the boxes.
I fully trust the scouting/transfer process we have in place and so far signing players has been something other clubs are jealous about how we keep doing it
We don't need to concern are self about values because we are not in the know and Frank has already said we won't sign if its nit all right for brentford. But the diffrnece here is we have bid already for this player and must have done are homework here.
I personally see him fitting in well I have watched him since the transfer links and he hasn't thrown his toys out the pram or dipped his form. The arsenal game and a few championship games I have seen forest play he has stood out as the stand out player.
Now we are in prem (how great is it to say that) the price for any championship or young English player will be increased when a prem club come knocking....
I'm not sure what his valuation should be but from what I have seen he is ready made for us and hopefully the prem and I trust the brentford transfer process.
One thing I think the team and the fans needed is a lift and a player like johonson will excite beacause he is direct.
You seriously belive he is only worth 5m? He has loads of potential. We sign him for 15m and we have got a bargain in my opinion. I'm sure with our system of development he will be worth 30m in a season.Do you really think breaking our transfer record on this player is justified ?..... i'm not having a pop just mystified some people on here want to spend 15m on him, i honestly don't even see his value above 5m , also if he is that good how come some of the bigger clubs haven't snapped him up ?

Out of interest as I haven’t seen enough of him but what do you know about him and what is your valuation based on?
I’ve never doubted our recruitment but questioning why people are telling the club they’re making a mistake at not meeting the asking price. I haven’t seen enough of him to know whether he’s worth what Forest are asking, I assumed DougieB has seen more of him than me?Based on the fact we bid around 12million before and it was rejected.
It's not rocket science to work out he has been playing well and Nottingham don't need to sell that his price will go up not down.
5 million statement for Johnson was his vaule.
Based on what brentford staff think he is worth it's between 10-12 million Based on what you read and here.
So Based on brentford have logged a bid around that figure I think we can safely say with little doubt he is worth more than 5 million.
Like I say brentford recruitment can not be doubted!!!
It's a shame they signed that lad on Loan from Villa, the striker I mean.
We may have beem able to tempt some money plus Forss on loan or permanent.
Hence lowering the out lay lump sum we would need to pay and also lowering the cost of the any transfer gamble you would have if you buy a player.
I'm not sure where you get this "fact" from (his dad, maybe?) but, whatever we "bid" for a player, it's a well known fact that we don't play the auction game but offer our own valuation and walk if it's going beyond that.Based on the fact we bid around 12million before and it was rejected.
