Might ruffle some feathers by saying this but signing Johnson is more exciting to me than signing Eriksen. Not to say Eriksen isn't a massive statement, just feels much less likely than this one.
Are you Josh Bowler’s agent or something? Bit of a weird obsession over a bang average championship player with 0 links to us.I would suggest that if we want to spend real money then we must focus on Mudryk. In the short Josh Bowler will do a fine job. Disregard the rest.
To be fair, they are experts in this field. This will upset their fans if we pull this off .. they still think we are “spreadsheet w***ers!”
Forest big club - my arse![]()
I know, that was the joke about standards. Your not thinking I didn’t no?I wish I’d HAVE known![]()
Difficult to tell on here JOS. But sorry for questioning your language skills.I know, that was the joke about standards. Your not thinking I didn’t no?
No problem and not offended, people think a lot worse of me.Difficult to tell on here JOS. But sorry for questioning your language skills.
BTW just loved Big John O’Mara in his day. One of my top three favourite Bees players!
Have we considered Josh Bowler? Sounds a lot cheaper
Drive down costs I say, drive them down!
Oh no not more money☹
Would you be interested in a car share arrangement with me once a week to LIDL?Soooooo expensive. What about Josh Bowler?
Do we know better? In the Dofs we trust. They want far to much for this lad, I've not read anyone else actually making a bid. Walk away Bees . There is better value out there.
Car? Wealthy so and soWould you be interested in a car share arrangement with me once a week to LIDL?
Given Villa have asked for £100M for McGinn and Man U are reported to be prepared to pay over half for him I’d say strong chance there will be a sell on as still profit on £15M if he’s as good as the other youngsters we’ve developedWe're talking about a 16-18 million transfer. No chance of a future sell on clause surely?
I’d be gobsmacked if we signed someone with pace for 15m and then loaned him back!!!Will be very happy if we get this deal over the line. Wouldn’t be overly surprised if we loan him back to Forest for the season though, especially if we bring in Eriksen as well.
A very good prospect for the future, and a sign that maybe from PL season 2 we will be looking at going 3-4-3
We won’t break our transfer record to loan him backWill be very happy if we get this deal over the line. Wouldn’t be overly surprised if we loan him back to Forest for the season though, especially if we bring in Eriksen as well.

Also kudos to him for playing. I know this should be expected but there would be a lot of players who would be pushing for the move knowing a Premier league team are in for him. He’s just getting on with it. We’ve all heard before a manger say an offer has come in and their head isn’t in the right placeNF are still selecting him & taking the injury risk , let’s see if this continues at the weekend , which should indicate how serious they are .
We’re all lucky to witness the complex tag algorithm working in real time.Strong Rumour????
Forest fans on social media rather prickly at the suggestion this would be a clear step up for Brennan, given the decent and increasing chance of us swapping leagues in the summer.£18m and loan him back ?
Sorry to be crude but I wouldn’t piss on Nottingham Forest if they were on fire after the way they have belittled us and put us down over the last several seasons
....ah well....looks like the mast from the yacht is a gonner
Well you would hope a compromise can be reached or guess we may walk away from£18m seems way to much to me unless it’s with huge add ons like staying up etc
Given this only went up to strong rumour after the news we were 3 million short yesterday I’d be surprised if we weren’t going back in. Whether or not that’s the right decision is another discussion.Well you would hope a compromise can be reached or guess we may walk away from
This one? Hope it goes through for the record as we really need a couple of quality additions to boost the group for sure.
It's early days, don't panic. You obviously don't play poker....Whether the price is fair or not they’re clearly not going to budge. Either pay the 18 million or move on to someone else.
Everyone said that last window and guess what? Took us until the day before deadline day to realise they weren’t going to budge and ended up with nothing. It's early days, don't panic. You obviously don't play poker....
What if you could piss petrol?£18m and loan him back ?
Sorry to be crude but I wouldn’t piss on Nottingham Forest if they were on fire after the way they have belittled us and put us down over the last several seasons
You know how we operate, why is that a problem.Everyone said that last window and guess what? Took us until the day before deadline day to realise they weren’t going to budge and ended up with nothing.
Because it’s clear in this case it won’t work. The closer we get to the end of the window the less time they have to replace him. If we think he’s worth it pay it, if not let’s go for someone else. You know how we operate, why is that a problem.
What would be the difference between an £18m defender and a £15m defender (other than £3m)?Obviously they can ask for whatever money they want but I just don't see the value here.
We’re known throughout the game as being more the reasonable negotiators and good to deal with when it comes to both buying and selling.Everyone said that last window and guess what? Took us until the day before deadline day to realise they weren’t going to budge and ended up with nothing.
Let’s see how it plays out, if no other interest they might negotiate on the sell on or a ++ for staying upWhether the price is fair or not they’re clearly not going to budge. Either pay the 18 million or move on to someone else.
That’s what I’m saying. They won’t budge, so if we think it’s too much let’s move on and go for someone else. We’re known throughout the game as being more the reasonable negotiators and good to deal with when it comes to both buying and selling.
If they’re not budging then that’s down to them but if we have our pants pulled down it sets a precedent. I’d rather Phil & Co stuck to the strategy that served us so well and we get him, great, if not, we either move on or try again in the summer.
And £20m is only £2m more than £18m.While £18mill seems high, it is only £3mill more than £15mill.
Just helping everyone with maths there. You're welcome.
sorry I only know up to 18And £20m is only £2m more than £18m.
There has to be an upper limit at which we walk away. We don’t know what that is. I suspect that as the public reports have moved in the last few days from the bare figure to discussing the detail of the split between up unconditional transfer fee and add ons and sell on %s both clubs are probably quite close on the overall total and now are wrangling over structuring. That might end up with a higher stated fee but a payment schedule that puts the initial instalment lower (eg “you can have £18m total with a £6m initial payment and lower add ons or you can have £15m with £9m today and higher add ons”).
