.....don't score... don't win......simple.
We did score though and still didn't win.
And yes I'm taking the pee.
First half was ours. They went in at half time and clearly said they needed to push as back, looked at their own analysis and saw the holes we had open for them and exploited it.
We can only live and learn.

We were so good until they scored but should have put at least one of our chances away before then. Jensen played well, but will take a lot of flack for the missed chances. However, I’m not confident that any other fit midfielder we have would have definitely scored any of those chances. Our finishing is just poor across the board.

Frustrating to see Ivan spend the last 10 minutes of the game either very deep or very wide - I want our best finisher to play on the last man, not hug the wing or come into our own half for the ball.

Mads Bech Sorensen was immense tonight - best I’ve seen from ever in a Bees shirt. Such a shame he couldn’t get a win.

Errors errors errors.

Let’s not forget that it’s notnonly taking our chances but we also seem to be punished for every little mistake.

All three goals maybe bar the first came from us giving the ball away when we didn’t need to. Mads caught flat footed for the first. oh well.

Well, our first half performance was a vast improvement.

Jensen very good, shame about his finishing.

Pinnock everywhere second half but shame about his nowhere pass that led to one of their goals.

Thought we did OK. Had we had a bit more luck first half and de gea not been on such good form perhaps we'd have got something.

Wissa looked dangerous when he came on.

Not feeling too disheartened, there were plenty of positives tonight.

Big differences between the sides;
Pace
Finishing
About £400 million
Pace is a big issue for us, we look slow. I saw no-one with real Pace in the line up today. I thought Mbeumo was really quick but either he has put on some weight or I need to go to specsavers, he is by no means slow but he I've seen him run a lot faster than he has this season, plus he can't seem to control the ball or finish, but he was very good today and gave us energy and a great work rate. Rico is the only player with sheer pace in the team. Toney would be an absolutely incredible striker if he had a yard of pace in him, but his pace let's him down so much, and our gameplan doesn't seem to be working for him. If he drops deep, we have no one in attack to help, if he gets forward like today then Mbeumo drops back a bit more and Toney hasn't got the pace to beat anyone

It hurts when you hear the BT pundits pull out the stat of 3 losses and 10 conceded. That's damaging for what could be important goal difference at the end of the season.

Positives today were seeing much more attacking mentality and the first half and all the chances we created. Unfortunately most fell to a Jensen who isn't one of our out and out goal scorers, and not Mbuemo or Toney. Plus De Gea showed why he is such a world class keeper. The stat came up Showing he's made the most saves this season. Create chances like that against most other teams and were going into half time 3-0 up.
I also didn't feel so nervous every time we conceded a corner or were taking a goal kick. The entire defensive unit seemed much more at ease and cohesive too.

We still have to play all 6 of the teams below us and they should be our must win targets, plus a few other draws.

Now we are heading for the championship.

Most pathetic post we'll see this week, despite some strong contenders from Pat K.

Great first half from the boys. The difference was in taking chances. It'll come for us, starting Saturday. We showed we can compete with the best, again.

Going home immensely proud of every one of them tonight. If only Jensen could finish! Was still a great performance from him.

Before anyone gets too suicidal on the GPG, consider this.

Manchester United are the first team to win 300 AWAY Premier League matches in the competition's history.

....you should have been where I was....E115....De Gea's legs should not have stopped us being 2-0 up at HT.... finishing was our weakness.....we were punished big time 2nd half....simple.

Was never a 3-1. Two huge chances in the first half to be 2-0 up.

yes I was that Indian **** whom told the ****s around me in E214 why they are filming their second goal. Loads around me jumped up and took out their phones. Bunch of ****s. Was told to sit down f*** that.

East stand was a disgrace tonight with many tourists and United fans in that stand. You have a lot to answer Varney.

Bees did well against quality players but it was the quality that counted in the end. That game replayed would probably end the same 9 times out of 10. What Brentford have to do is stop making mistakes and missing chances against lesser sides than United otherwise we'll be struggling when we should be safe.

Side note he Utd fans were the loudest we've had in, and many joined the 67 clap. Good on them.

Congratulations on the club selling x amount of memberships to make a bit of extra cash. Nearly everyone around me in the east stand got up and cheered then filmed the celebration of the 2nd manure goal. It was like being in the Fulham neutral stand . f*** off varney.

Money, ergo quality innit? Small margins though. Convert a couple of those big chances in the first half and we win. Let's keep enjoying this season. Tonight was actually great fun even though we lost. This is little tinpot Brentford v. Man Utd FFS. At times though it was more like The Mighty Bees v. a former superpower.

If we continue to start games with that intensity and positivity, this season will continue to be fun and we will scrape together enough wins to stay up. Liked how we were pro-active tonight, as opposed to deliberately backs to the wall in some recent games.

I was in the East Stand tonight (decided to swap tickets with my mum, give her a better view) and saw absolutely none of that thankfully. Heard one person yell in what seemed like happiness when Rashford came on, and a bit of an exodus towards the 85th... but no celebrations.

From the West Stand, I couldn't see many of them joining in with the applause in the 67th minute either. Even the United fans did their bit.

Personally, the whole ticketing system needs an overhaul to prevent these types from obtaining tickets over loyal Bees.

....hope so my old friend...on reflection...those two chances probably fell to the wrong player....passing the ball into the net doesn't always work.

Not sure if it has been said, first half was the best performance in months. De Gea was world class though in that half and McTominay was world class in the second; disappointing it was against us but both a joy to watch.

Lets move onto Wolves, repeat that first half performance and we'll be ok. Great occasion tonight!

Mbeumo is pretty rapid but was probably surprised, as I was, by Dalot's pace. What did stand out was Norgaard's lack of pace as Fernandes outstripped him for the second. I guess speed of thought and reaction over a couple of yards is important in the role he generally plays (a bit like Sheringham or Nigel Clough at the other end of the pitch, back in the day) rather than sprint speed over ten-twenty yards.

That might have been because Ronaldo was being subbed.

I think people forget who we are - Brentford …. The aim is to scrape into the Prem next season and go from there.

yes it’s disappointing losing a lot but we have been spoiled by years of brilliant championship football!!

anybody who remembers our championship season 2015/16 will know things get better and we need some time.

Aaaargh....Pontus shouldn't have stepped up to Fernandes for their second. And I'm sure he stepped up again and got caught out for their third.

Anyway, we raised our game for a big team, again. But we are failing to raise our game for the likes of Southampton, Burnley, Norwich, etc. This has to change.

Whilst I'm happy we raised our game after recent performances, playing well and losing does nothing for confidence.

Play like that against the bottom half teams in this division, and we will win games. But we have to raise our game for those types of games.

Oh how I wish it was Toney on those chances instead of Jensen. No disrespect to Jensen but oh how I wish it was Ivan with the ball at those moments.

And please please please can we get someone (or two or more) in that will be able to feed balls into Toney. Damn I can totally understand his frustration. The man is being starved of being given the ball in decent goal-scoring areas.

Well done to Mbeumo. He had another strong game. Very impressive.

Overall I am pleased with our effort tonight. Good effort but we need to take our chances.

Walking home, can’t believe we lost. The definition of a smash and grab - I felt like they weren’t in the game?! - tell me if I’m wrong?

if only we finished those first half chances. Unreal support..

Saturday is a pivotal point of the season….we need those three points.

You are right mate, again we have fluffed our lines in front of goal over and over and then gifted soft ones out of nowhere.

We are not learning lessons, we all knew this years ago, we are just experiencing what we all know happens at this level, miss you chances and make a mistake you will lose,

Nah was definitely after everyone took the mick out of Ronaldo, seemed specifically for the Rashford announcement. If you were gonna celebrate one opposing player coming on, Rashford's not a bad choice I guess. He's not usually very good on the pitch and he's a nice bloke, win win?
