Norgaard had his worst game this season and was wrong side 4 times first half.
Toney had his best game in 4.
Jensen played well but you can’t miss the chances he missed first half.

Was never a 3-1. Two huge chances in the first half to be 2-0 up.

yes I was that Indian **** whom told the ****s around me in E214 why they are filming their second goal. Loads around me jumped up and took out their phones. Bunch of ****s. Was told to sit down f*** that.

East stand was a disgrace tonight with many tourists and United fans in that stand. You have a lot to answer Varney.

Was this towards the back? My ST is in row 22 of that block and didnt see anything like it in front of me.

In fact it felt like there was far fewer aways than normal near me!

Well, we didn't deserve to lose that 3-1. First half we were the better side and put in one of our strongest 45 minutes of the season. Some good goalkeeping and some rotten luck keeping the score 0-0 at HT. And I include in that "rotten" luck that our chances didn't fall to our best finishers!

Second half United showed a bit of class in their counter attacking and clinical finishing. We couldn't quite live up to the first half but we were still decent. Play like that against Wolves on Saturday and we'll come away with something.

Couple of comments on some individuals. Thought Jensen had his best game of the season, really got stuck in and got forward very well. On another day he would scored at least one. I suspect he went off because he ran himself into the ground rather than anything.

Lossl didn't really have loads to do, but he looks a bit more accurate with his kicking than Fernandez. I also thought Fernandez would have saved their 3rd goal. I was right behind it and he should have kept it out. I thought when he was at Huddersfield his shot stopping was average at best. I guess what we gain in some aspects with him, we lose in others. Let's hope Raya returns soon.

Finally, the "fans" that got their phones out to video the Utd players celebrating can f*ck right off.

Gutted....mostly because I felt like I was the only Brentford supporter in the bit of the East stand where I was sitting. Never had this at GP and frankly don't want to experience it again.
Was nice to get on the platform and discuss the game with Brentford supporters.

I thought we played really well. We caused them a lot of problems, particularly first half. They have an excellent keeper who made a lot of good saves from decent efforts. Yes, we might have done better with those shots but they weren’t poor efforts. We didn’t give Ronaldo a sniff. Got undone by a really good move and a tremendous bit of control by Elanga.

That was a much more encouraging performance than we’ve had in a while. We actually passed, moved, pressed and looked to get forward. Toney was in his right place. Bryan was full of running. Jensen was everywhere, picked some great passes and defended strongly. We made them work for that win and they know it. Let’s not be too harsh on our team.

Congratulations on the club selling x amount of memberships to make a bit of extra cash. Nearly everyone around me in the east stand got up and cheered then filmed the celebration of the 2nd manure goal. It was like being in the Fulham neutral stand . f*** off varney.
Mate today was the worst experience I’ve had at the new stadium, I didn’t even feel like I was in a Brentford side of the ground. I’m emailing the club to complain and demand to be moved to some where I can feel like I’m at a Brentford stadium, not that I’m expecting any response from this lot.

for anyone that wants to see what we had to put up with, people filming Uniteds celebrations

Disappointing because we were comfortable until their goal from nothing. We were wasteful in the first half and that has cost us. This was by no means a vintage Utd team. They are a mile of City and Liverpool but they have individual quality. The ability to do what we do but quicker and the ability to take their chances - like Rashford did. We need someone from our midfield to put their chances away. Josh DaSilva might just be that man.

3 moments of brilliance won that for United. They came out in the second half and upped their game.

Also couldn't believe Rashford running past Rico, how quick he be?!

Massive increase in performance both individually and collectively. Very disappointed not to get something out of that result wise.

I'm going to disagree.

Mads Roerslev seemed to let Elanga get in front of him way too easily.
Pontus seemingly stepped up and got caught out of position for the second and third goals.

All avoidable goals, in my opinion, and therefore three moments of poor defending won that for United.

I was further back - a high number taking out their phone and filming the second goal - the guy next to me told me to relax but I won't ever have that in a Brentford home end.

Canos exposed?.....has been on occasion but not tonight. Greenwood hardly got a kick? Rest of your observations fair enough.

Difference was the quality of De Gea in the first half and McTominay in the second.

Quality of our finishing is a huge issue. We need to take our chances as we know that we are going to concede chances against premier league teams.

Goalie option looked better and I thought that Pinnock, Sorensen and Jensen were very good. Norgaard looks knackered.

On Saturday l, we will have 3 games in 6 days. Hopefully the the team can raise themselves as we need to pick up some points to try and get some momentum.

Yes I am quite sure there will be some who are like, 'who gives a damn if we performed well and put an effort in we still lost.'

However, I am a glass half full kind of person and I can't see as a Bees fans that you don't feel some pride in the boys tonight. Yes, our form is not the best right now by any means obviously. But we did show tonight for the first time in awhile what kind of team we are and what we are made of, and any other game would have gotten the 3 points easily. Did get punished for not finishing chances, but its the Prem that's going to happen; never gave up is the thing for me.

I thought everyone had a solid game, but especially Bryan, was just everywhere. Great to see Ivan get a goal, hopefully this gives him a bit of confidence going forward and he can turn his self around and become the player we all know he has in him.

We played well as a unit for first time in awhile and it showed. Now we just have to keep that from the start against Wolves and moving forward and we will be fine come season's end.

Come on you 🐝

Now we are heading for the championship.
Why don’t you just do one mate.
Why did we have to wait for their guy to do his shoelace up?
Why only 4 mins injury time, 6 subs, 4 goals, they spent over 2 mins celebrating each of their first 2 goals, several times were told off and not booked for not taking corners, Ronaldo taking over a minute to walk off.

I was genuinely expecting to see 8 mins go up, grab a second and watch them panic,
Ronaldo chucking a massive strop after being substituted.

Champagne moment right there.

I thought it was a pitiful sight. The bloke was one of the greats, if not the greatest and to still be getting on the end of stuff and scoring goals is remarkable but I though he was awful tonight.

I said his legs had gone in august and many people laughed at me, maybe not so much now. He had one good pass off his chest and headed off the bar but other than that didn’t win a header, didn’t beat a player, did absolute nothing. A mere shadow of what he once was and it is sad to see. Watching him trudge off petulantly was a bit pathetic as he was a total passenger again, offered his team nothing.

He need to do the honourable thing and go to the USA to sell a few shirts and leave us with the memories .

V frustrating, excellent first half where we actually played some great stuff on the counter. Should really have gone in ahead. We were caught a bit cold second half as they really upped the tempo but we'd looked like we'd taken control again when they rather undeservedly went ahead. 3-0 really flattered them but TF's subs left us very exposed in midfield with Norgaard struggling to do the work of three. I imagine we won't be particularly happy with any of the goals we conceded. Toney still not quite at it and Pontus had a bit of a mare again. We need to find someone with a bit more pace and technique in that role if we can. in fact in general we need more pace across the team. On the positive side Mbeumo and Jensen were excellent and linked up really well with Jensen getting forward much more than we've seen in the past, just a shame those big chances fell to him, although you probably wouldn't fancy even Toney to put those away in his current form. Special mention for Mads Bech who looked absolutely quality on the left side of defence and Roerslev who had another good game at RWB. To think that we played against Man U and Ronaldo with two B team graduates..... Not entirely convinced Lossl was that much of an upgrade, not sure he came for one cross and his kicking was a little ropey I thought. Could probably have done better with at least one of the goals. At least he didn't try and play one-twos in the box though! Wissa looked much sharper coming on today and more interested. We need to play like we did first half against every team in this league though, not just the big ones. No use turning up for games like this and coming away empty handed but proud if we then go and pull another Southampton against Wolves....

Yeah. Second and third, Pontus should have stayed in the defensive line but as soon as he stepped up left a gap behind him that was ruthlessly exploited.

Performed well against Liverpool? We were sh*te up there. Best performance in a long time tonight. Looks like the mojo might be coming back despite the result (and I wasn't expecting one anyway). I'm feeling quite positive about tonight, just hoping for the same level of performance against Wolves.
Sorry matey was meaning Liverpool at home!

This is the best we’ve looked since Raya went down in my opinion.

Echoing the comments about the lack of pace. Pontus is a step slow for this league and he’s exposed when the outside center backs get stretched and aren’t there to cover him. Ajer’s pace and Raya’s decisiveness off the line really offer Pontus a lot of protection that we need.

I don’t see much of a difference between Lossi and Alvaro, tho it’s early to make judgments about either. Maybe Lossi’s distribution is a touch better but Alvaro has a slight edge in shot stopping.

Encouraging performance, disappointing result. Move on.

Errors errors errors.

Let’s not forget that it’s notnonly taking our chances but we also seem to be punished for every little mistake.

All three goals maybe bar the first came from us giving the ball away when we didn’t need to. Mads caught flat footed for the first. oh well.
Errors in poor finishing!!! At last we have found Jensens best position , in the opposition box, should have had a hatrick ! Mads for me is our best defender at the moment, best first half from Jensen i have seen this season but very quite second half.

Very good post, the better team didn’t win but in this division you have to take your chances, they did and they won.
I think we have enough and with the crowd behind us we should get the points we need at home to stay up. I’d like to see an inbound to lift the players and the fans

Positives were our first half performance which was the best for ages. Also Toney finding the net.
Negatives were you just knew at half time that we would lose it because Man U would take a chance that came their way and so it proved. Pontus was also poor.
Jensen had his best game for ages but blew away any credit by costing us the game through bad misses.
Thomas needs to think about a couple of changes as IMO Wolves will be a bigger handful and we need the points.

de Gea is an exceptional shot stopper with his feet and the ball on the deck. Jensen lifts any of those chances a foot off the floor and they’re going in. Fine margins.

Levels up tonight. Should have been home and hosed by half time.
Second half felt we just dipped a fraction and in this league you can't do that really.
Also tonight we were receiving passes and turning forward more making us more of a threat.
Thought we were good on the whole, 3-1 a bit harsh tbf.
Didn't meet any Man U fans tonight pre match and by the time I got to the pub, post match they were all back in Isleworth;)

We were excellent first half BUT we can’t finish….sorry Jensen can’t finish🤮 but united knew they should have been 2 or 3 down at half time and came out 2nd half much improved….that was the difference….finishing….we don’t start doing that and this season could be a lot more stressful than a lot think just cos we got a few more points on the board than a few others …for now 🙄 I’m getting more worried by the week that we might bottle those big 4 relegation team games coming up…we need some inspiration from somewhere and fkin soon

Good noise coming from the West Stand tonight, but so quiet around my seat on North Stand halfway line! We saw from the Bournemouth and Arsenal games what a difference our crowd can make, so it's a shame more people aren't getting involved. But at least the relative silence was better than the reported East Stand "support".

Norgaard has had a January to forget. It’s a shame we didn’t take our chances. Need to turn up for 90 minutes though. They could see we were waning and made us pay. Right decision to drop Alvaro.

PS A new ground record of 17,094.

But had to come across iirc. If Pontus had backed off, I remember thinking that we could have held our shape and possibly prevented the goal.
I'll check the replays when I get some time, but I'm fairly sure what I saw at the time was right.
Let's see...

Thought Norgaard was excellent though. Had a couple of Man U fans who texted me about his positional skills.
Neutral foreign journalist mentioned to me that he's a "Rolls-Royce" of a midfielder. Would get into most midfields outside the biggest clubs in this country..

Weird that, I thought he gave the ball away on about 5 occasions and wasn't positive going forward.
