Brentford B are in action this afternoon when they take on Ebbsfleet United at Hanwell Town’s Powerday Stadium.

The match, which kicks off at 1pm today and is a behind closed doors fixture, will see Neil MacFarlane’s side aim to make it eight matches unbeaten.

The young Bees have had the likes of Ben Hockenhull and Kane O’Connor back in training in recent days with both players stepping up their returns from injury. The match could come too soon for the defensive duo, whilst the likes of Tristan Crama, Aubrel Koutsimouka, Max Haygarth and Paris Maghoma are still on their way back to fitness.

Mogensen was on the receiving end of a terrible challenge by Ebbsfleet's no.24.

That should've seen the EUFC player subbed IMO.

Mogensen is still feeling the effects of the challenge too.

Lively game, both sides moving the ball quickly. Enjoying the game. we seem pretty good defensively think we get a couple more second half if we can keep this up.

Looking good today, that's almost a first choice 11 for the Bs.. Bidstrup looking lively but I really like the look of Trevitt, he's got a real eye for a pass, very comfortable on the ball. Pressley looking sharp, would have liked him to come on yesterday instead of Goode. Guessing we were keeping him off the bench for the game today? Stevens looks like he's playing CB with Racic..

Farls seems to be on at Pressley almost the whole time ("AARON!!!!"), can't work out if it's 1) just motivational, 2) AP is a bit lax when it comes to pressing or 3) Farls expects him to press all the defenders and the keeper at the same time if any one of them has the ball.

FFS what a soft own goal

Could not believe what I was seeing.turned it off the, shame as I missed 2 goals. I did like what I saw generally. Especially the midfield of Bidstrup and Adams. The two full backs were comfortable on the ball and had some pace. It was good to see Racic back playing, he looked assured. Not knocking Pressley but there are times when he looks totally unfit and lacks ball control, but then he has scored a fare number of goals for the B Squad

The attacking forward pass from midfield invariably let us down, but we totally dominated the game to the point that we scored their goal as well. Shocking performance from Ebbsfleet.

Same. I am looking forward to Bidstrup moving into the 1st team - he was very Norgaardish today.

I do think the B Team have really suffered with the effects of not travelling during the pandemic. In previous seasons they were really putting themselves up against strong opposition from across Europe, if you look at their fixture list this season there’s been a lot of pretty average fixtures. Not sure it’s helped much with development.

They've actually probably played stronger teams, they've played a lot of first team non-league and lower league teams as well as the usual smattering of PL2 U23s.. I think the only thing they'll have missed from the European matches is the contrast in styles... The challenges they've faced so far this season will have been much more of the kind that they'd face in the first team.

4 of the trialists feature in the OS photos. Anyone got any ideas? One appears to be a regular in midfield..

So as not to alert other teams i guess ?

Ah! So perhaps we should not post photographs either then, and not make things easier for other scouts. If the matches were all behind closed doors and no TV then that would solve any potential problem I suppose. Nevertheless many of us supporters enjoy these matches. Difficult really.

Highlights here. Some really good football played at times, at pace, one touch. Really good pressing all the way through. Missed most of the second half live stream and have to say the brief clips they show the trialists who came on looked v promising, especially the no.17?

This group is of a really good quality. There's some great players in there. I'd forgotten quite how good Joe Adams is at this level. Criminal he didn't get more games out on loan really, he's definitely got the ability. Bidstrup really does look good though and great to see Gilbert back in there. Can't really fault anyone in that line up. Top performance

Yes I certainly did, he has played a couple of times before. Looks very easy on the ball, and is happy to carry it forward.

Was he the black player? If so, yes. Big and quick although the opposition were poor.

Ebbsfleet play in Conference South which which due to Lock Down is finished for the season with all previous games null and void. They last played some 4/5 weeks ago, and I assume that the players are on Thurlough. I think their last game was 16th March and only 8 of that team played against the B’s. So looks like a cobbled together outfit.

Played a lovely ball forward in one of the highlights, you can hear both Farls and Sam cooing about it in the background..
