Last game of the year for the B team tomorrow. Could be a fair few trialists involved given Stevens, Pressley, Ghoddos and Thompson from yesterdays side will likely be with the first team squad (and potentially even Haygarth or Kane 'O'Connor). Unfortunately, no stream again it seems. though this time there may be updates on social media..

MacFarlane didn't seem to be at the game v QPR. Unwell/isolating?

Looks like Valgeirsson is playing as a right back or wing back, wonder if we are looking at him as cover/replacement
for HD (longer term)

I would suggest not. Third in the behind Stevens and (when fit) Roerslev

I suspect he offers a number of options. Promising player

What happens to Fin Stevens? Or are we considering HD leaving and then VV & FS covering the position for cover behind Roerslev?

Valgeirsson will be mostly used as an attacking player I think. He's just covering today as Stevens is with the first team squad. He played there in Iceland for a while I think..

Anyway, 1-0 Gilbert. Surely he must be due a first team squad place soon? Has looked excellent every time I've seen him, great eye for a pass, good on the ball and scores regularly from midfield...

I wonder if this weekend is decision time so he can be available for the Christmas games.

In Pressley's interview after the QPR game he said it was good to score two 'especially with the coaches watching' so that may well be the case..

He certainly seems an old head on young shoulders, currently about 10 days short of his 19th birthday. When he does interviews you can see in his eyes thoughts of "stop lofting softballs and give me something to think about". He could well get a go before the end of the season I agree. The extension of the subs' bench to 9 has certainly pushed the B team closer to the first team.

Can he play for the B team if the loan to AFC is still ongong?
Maybe I should have written “How can he play for the B team if the loan to AFC is still ongoing?
Yep, B team not part of any official competition, just playing friendlies so that's fine. We've done it before with other loan players..

Yes. As mentioned above. Even if the Club still had a Youth set up, Youth players can still play for their own CLub in friendly games as well as any professional side they were loaned to.

Surely Oksanan will not be allowed to play as he is currently on loan to Wimbledon.
Read the posts below it..............

I thought that odd. I’d naively assumed that the coaches would automatically be watching B team games...
Presume he meant Frank, KOC, Riemer. I doubt they watch every B team game as they often have the B teamers in training with the first team so can check on them there..

Read the post I was replying to! It was referring to playing in the Newcastle game, not a B Team friendly.
@wanderer paul was trying to point out that I had made a mistake, and was referring to the possibility of Gilbert (not Oksanen) making the squad for the Newcastle game......

B team are flying, would expect to see more of them make the first team squad for the cup games coming up.
