An interesting line up. Could be preparation for the Cup game... or is it just game time for first-team squad players?

3 out and out strikers up front! Should be interesting.. Baptiste clearly needs the minutes as he looked a bit off the pace on sat..

Depends whether the powers that be at the B team still consider this to be the pre-season period. I get the feeling that preparations are being made to get as many minutes as possible for the players who'll be vying for Watkins' and Benrahma's places, should they go.

It's even at the break and The Bees have perhaps had the better of the chances.

Was one of the trialiists Alex Gilbert, or has he now gone elsewhere?

Aaron Pressley's goal is the difference in what was an impressive performance from Neil MacFarlane's side.

have to confess I stumped up the £3 for what was a pretty ropey wobbly camera stream. Won't make that mistake again! However, having said that the B team played extremely well and should have won a lot more comfortably against a Palace side containing a fair few first teamers. We .looked very comfortable on the ball, won the ball back well up the pitch and solid in defence. The new LB Gordon was very good, getting forward and linking well with the strikers, Stevens did similarly well on the right. Dervisoglu, Pressley and Forss worked hard up front and Dervisoglu and Forss should both have got on the score sheet after getting into really good positions. Halil started a little deeper in more of a 10 role but then the front three interchanged regularly, Pressley not looking out of place, probably the best game I've seen from him. In midfield Maghoma sat deep and looked soooo comfortable on the ball. Read buzzed about and Baptiste popped up in some good attacking positions, though he still looks a little off the pace. Both teams made a few changes late in the second half and the Bees took control, finally getting the winner with a neat finish from Pressley after a corner evaded everyone in the 6 yard box. Alex Gilbert came on as one of the trialists and again looked very lively with one lovely bit of skill on the edge of the box that Said would be proud of! We need to get this lad signed up asap! Didn't recognise any of the other trialists so looks like a new batch.. Overall a really strong performance.

Assuming he's got the right attitude to learn and develop (he's passed all the tests!), Maghoma is going to be the one!

yeh, wasn't sure about him last season but he looks like he's stepped up a level already, guess training with the first team will do that for you..

Late here to this post.

Thoughts on Balcombe?

Clean sheet is clearly a good starting point. Text commentary suggested that he had a few saves to make and the YouTube highlights showed him making one save and immediately starting a counter 'a la' Raya. Could he be the No.1 is waiting?

Thoughts on Balcombe?[/QUOTEOnly from the highlights but his positioning seemed very good, which made some of those saves look easy. Not much else to take from it, though.

Didn't have masses to do but did that well, and looked comfortable. Main issue I remember with him from before was with the ball to feet and crosses but that was some time ago so will be interesting to see how he's progressed (in spite of injuries)

That camera-work was awful! Plus I suppose they were fine at pitch-level, but the kits looked virtually indistinguishable to me - hopefully the camera/lighting rather than my failing eyesight!

Cheers for the rest of the report, highly appreciated!

there was a moment in the first half where Pressley I think did a lovely disguised back heel to the overlapping referee!
