Today the sound on the video was behind the vision. Not by as much as the commentary, but a good few seconds. The service would be fantastic if they could integrate the commentary with the pictures and I seriously hope that they are working on this!

You can pause one or the other to align them. And they've explained that marrying marky's comms with IFollow pictures would affect the access for blind fans. I'm sure it'll come, but this has all been said before...

How do you align the sound on the video with the picture on the video?

I tried having the commentary running in Chrome, with the pictures in Safari, but one or other kept freezing. If I didn't bother with the commentary, the video worked fine, except for the three second or so lag in sound - most noticeable when the goals went in, of course!

Is the following possible:

- Sign up to an iFollow account whilst abroad, pay for the whole season live streaming option
- Access iFollow from a VPN when back in the UK
- Watch stream
Apparently yes but I can't for the life of me work out how. I can't see how you subscribe to one game just to check my work vpn doesn't block the site before I shell out 130 quid.

Also we keep losing so I am not completely incentivised at the minute.

yeah, fair enough :(

the "single game" option only shows on the day of the game, i think

from there it should be straightforward EITHER through the Match Centre OR through the iFollow menu at the top, but as you well know already, it's not the most intuitive system and seems to have a few "dead" links (click here for... nothing)

i just said lol pause one or the other

i was wondering on Saturday, how the commentary was managing to catch up / overtake the pictures. worked it out last night - it was those little momentary freezes in the picture. irritating.

but for 85 of the 90 (or 108) minutes last night, it was brilliant

No sound again last night.....ham and egg outfit.....forget about me.....
that's such a shame Jock, cos i know you love it... it should be more intuitive, and we've tried to give feedback, but unfortunately there are a load of people involved who claim they can't do anything about it, and no-one takes responsibility. (and respect to Themepark, cos at least he tries - a million times better than anyone else involved).

the interface is awful

but it DOES work - there must be an issue with getting it set up on your side.

i'd love to try and help, but i'll be busy on Saturday....

For the fourth match this year the system wont allow me to log in. On each occasion I have emailed and tried the live help without any success. I eventually get a response two or three days later saying my account has been reactivated.

I am now thoroughly fed up with this. There is no customer service to solve problems caused by a waste of space software package,

****ers
That's a bit odd because mine is permanently logged in, I think I've only ever logged in once. I can't even remember what I did as it was pre-season but I must have checked a 'remember me' button somewhere.

yep me too - but i think, the Carabao Cup, it kept being stupid and saying i couldn't log in etc (through Match Centre). but if you go to the iFollow menu, log in there, then go back to Match Centre, i think it'd work.

you can't do that. but i thought you wanted the commentary lined up with the video? just mute the video and then pause one or t'other to get them in line.

As I've attended all the games so far, I've not used it for live action but everything else has been 100% for me.

15 minutes or so before the game, click on "fixtures", this will take you to the match center. Watch game live option should show if it thinks you are an overseas viewer. If it does appear, click that and it will show you two membership options - single match for 6 euro or season pass for 130 euro. (or equivalent).

I've watched two single games and am now convinced to go for the season pass on saturday. I have found that using Microsoft edge browser to suffer less pausing that Google chrome.

One of the worst purchases in my life. Of all the games we played this season, I managed to watch only one (not counting Nott'm Forest defeat I watched via a pirate stream). Even if I want to watch on demand, two-three days after the match, it is impossible to avoid spoilers about the score/outcome of the games. This service is raw, not enough testing was done before the launching and the result is obvious. Honestly, I really want my money back.

From what I understand, BFC can do this now for home games but choose not to. The issue is the blind commentary and how that can be relayed in the stadium.

That can be solved and that's would what I be focussing on right now to win back support for the product.

Can't Markybee use two microphones. One for blind and one for syncing with the video?

or maybe position another mic - the video one - about 20 seconds away at the speed of sound. 330m/s means that we need one about 7km away.

The EFL have offered us the ability to do this and the way they say clubs can do this is by having our commentator in a sound proof room and watching an iPad which is between three and five minutes behind the actual action.

We can't put in an automatic delay system as we don't know what the delay is until we actually see it on a game by game basis.

That can be solved and that's would what I be focussing on right now to win back support for the product.

I'm sure a workaround similar to this can be found.
The bit that the iFollow support team are leaving out in their communication is that the solution that we have been offered to do this is impractical for the vast majority of clubs. I've come up with a solution and am currently waiting for the providers to get back to me on it to see if it's possible. If it is, the powers that be can decide whether we do it or not - but it's not a short term thing to implement :(

Well that would be crappy for the blind supporters as they would hear the crowd roar then have to wait minutest to understand what happened. Non starter.

This is exactly why we said this was a non-starter for us. Even if we did have an ability to add in an automated delay for the iPad to listen to and broadcast, we don't have a soundproof room. If memory serves correctly, only two clubs in our division do!

Syncing video and audio is not what will restore confidence in the product, ease of use and reliability will. i.e. not freezing, buffering etc during stream.

I can't understand why people need audio. When watching the live stream its just like being at the game, no one is explaining whats going on when you're at the game, you just watch.

Complete red herring in my ever so humble opinion.

I agree with this - particularly so if it is 'radio' commentary, where the commentators are describing where the ball is on the pitch etc. Unnecessary and annoying if you are watching the game.

Never mind the commentary, my issue is that the sound that accompanies the video is out of sync.

A few seconds only, again no big deal. Goal is scored, 2 seconds later you hear the roar.

Can't believe that anyone thinks this is a big deal, considering we now get to watch the games live.

Again, believe their energies should be spent fixing the current problems: User accessibility and quality and reliability of video.

FFS what is going on now. I just clicked the link to listen to DS interview and it is sending me to a site to subscribe 130 quid for the whole year. I can't listen to it until I do and ther is no way to circumvent it.

Can we please just scrap this and go back to the old one, it is truly terrible.

It is a big deal. I see the goals on the GPG before the commentary and it is not a good experience. Hearing the crowd cheer a few seconds before you see a goal in is not a good result or visa versa.

I don't know about the new audio, but the live video is 3 to 4 minutes behind the game. If you don't want to know about goals before they happen, stay off social media, including twitter. That was also true with Bees Player by the way.

For the live video, the audio is always behind the action, so is not a spoiler for whats happening during the game.

I know what you're trying to say, Ed. It's the same here. I might have said this already, but it reminds me of Fifa98, or some such, where the crowd sound' was just 'generic cheer/boo/rhubarb'. Pretty irritating. Can I bring up the lack of a time clock and score box again?

These would both be a big improvement. At the moment you have to have a separate means of checking how long is left to play and if you glance away for a few moments, or the system freezes and you have to reload, you might not know you've missed a goal!

This is true. You NEED to keep an eye on other media to know when a goal is going to be scored. There are no replays (although BFC managed this in pre-season). It is actually a VERY CRAP PRODUCT. That people are paying too much for.

I missed the pre-season game, but what you say suggests that all the problems with iFollow could be resolved with enough will. And if it means having a separate commentator for the blind at GP, then surely that too is not beyond the means of the club to provide?

nope - i love it

replays - you can just skip back 10 seconds any time with the handy button. and then press Live again to return to the near-present.

almost all of Ed's problems can be solved by having another tab open with Marky's commentary.....

Mr Tree, have you discerned a pattern in the video and the audio - like, is one of them usually ahead of the other? So do you pause the picture and wait for the sound to catch up, or vice versa? I haven't managed to synch yet, largely because I'm actually supposed to be working when the games are on and people take it badly if I tell them to shush and go away for a minute.

You have to paused the video about 12 seconds. I pause the video when the ref blows to kickoff and then wait to hear the whistle via markybee comms

If it goes out of sync then I do the same on a free kick. Press the "Live" button on the video then follow the same procedure as above.

Its quite entertaining how many times markybee says "he should have scored" when it's far from probable, let alone almost certain. Enjoy!
