7pm on Wednesday, is now the date we're all waiting for.....

Can Frank's faltering fellows snap out of this awful run of form with a top performance against an erratic Sheff Wed ?

3 points is all that matters on Wednesday no matter how we get them (well ideally without injuries/suspensions). I think we’ve actually had some luck in that after 3 defeats we’re still 2nd!!! A win, even if we play sh*t and get a dodgy offsite mishit deflected goal is all that matters to keep us 2nd and to gain some confidence and belief back. Wednesday would be the ideal time as if we could then beat Stoke it’ll set us up nicely for the trip to Norfolk...

Hard to imagine how we win with the mounting injuries and our general crap luck but Thomas rightly said we've coped without Jannson and Norgaard just fine. No reason we cant do the same without Toney/Henry.. although maybe it's one too many now.. we'll see.

Would take a draw to simply get a point! Although hoping for a nervy win.. 2-1!

Great unbeaten run, but realistically I fear we might be in for a bit of a slog now. If things get any worse squad wise, we'll get to the point where we're trying to win promotion with what some call our "cup" team and I call the "reserves". And it turns out we can't even call Dom back. No point blaming Thomas, he can only work with the tools provided and I don't believe anyone could do a better job. With a full team, we win this 3 or 4 -0 I reckon. But I'm afraid I sense a ghastly 0-1 on the horizon. Hope I'm wrong and happy birthday Plastic. :sorted:

I know there is no such thing as a must win game in February, but for the sake of confidence then this game gets pretty close to a must win. Hopefully we will do it, I don't care how, but a 1-0 scrappy win will be ok in my book.

We will start the long road back to form and having the players back from injury with a 1-1 draw. I reckon 85-90 points will be needed for the autos, which is 9 wins and a draw from our remaining 15 games, or maybe more likely 8 wins and 4 draws as a minimum, if the requirement is only 85 points. It all starts on Wednesday.

With fully fit first team squad this would be a no brainier an easy win , but that is not the case. Therefore I will not predict the outcome.

............where is Voice.....???...........
There is a repeat showing on Wednesday but it's at 2am. You're better off switching to Cornwall and Devon Walks with Julia Bradbury on ITV at 8pm if the game's going badly.

We havent really created much in the past 3 games so goals will be at a premium - either 1-0 or 1-1

This will be our 4th game against Wednesday, on a Wednesday.
We have had mixed success - winning 1, drawing 1, losing 1.
We lost on Wed 26th Sept 1990, in the League Cup (1-2 - Terry Evans scored)
We won earlier this season !

Our best day of the week to face the Owls is Sunday (2 games, 2 wins)
2018 and 2010

Closely followed by Friday (1.5 points per game)
We've battled them twice on a Friday, 1 win, 1 loss

Worst day of the week to face Wednesday is Thursday - 1 game, 1 loss - The 2005 Play Off 1st leg !

Mondays are a pretty average day to face them - 1 win, 2 losses and a draw.
We lasy beat them on a Monday in 1936 / Christmas fixture
William Scott and Robert Reid with the goals in a 2-1 win.

On Tuesdays, we are also pretty average - 10 games - 3 wins, 1 draw.

Obviously, we have played them on a Saturday the most.
21 times, 6 wins, 10 draw

There's never been more than 6 goals in this fixture
3-3 twice in 1950 (Pointon, Hill and Dare) and 2005 (Burton, Peters and Hunt)

This is Sheffield Wednesday’s first game in Brentford, lets play and score like we did the last time they came to Brentford. It would help with the memory of the Old Girl, little did we know that was the last first team game played there

You should send this to Craig David. He'd record this.

What a few weeks ago was an easy walk in the park suddenly feels formidable.
At least we can blame injuries.

Clean sheet please, even if that means a bore 0-0 draw.

"Panglossian" I mean, obviously. Not "this". Which has been used loads of times.

Jeremy Simpson is the referee.

He was in charge of that game at Elland Road with the Neal Maupay shenanigans and our 2-1 win at Boro in 2018/19 when the Boro players spent the last 10 mins falling over in the box and he waved it all away.
