This season the women's first team will play in Step 6, in the catchily named London and South East Regional Womens Football League Division 1 North....having finished runners up and secured promotion from Greater London Women's Football League (Premier division). The division had 7 teams in it last season and now has 10 so I think we have partly benefitted from league expansion. One division below Fulham. QPR also applied for and got promotion to step 4, so remain two steps below them.

This should be a link to the league table for div 1 North for 21/22 Table | Division 1 North | London & South East Regional Women's

London and South East Women's Regional Football League - Wikipedia - this is not yet up to date for 21/22.

Season kicks off on 22nd August. The ladies are playing a friendly at Bedfont sports club - next to Heathrow - against Clapton CFC right now. Is this the normal home ground?

The ladies development team played in step 9 last season, Greater London Women's Football League Division 2 (North), but won the league.

I am yet to discover whether they are also taking a step up.

Initial league fixtures for the women's first team here -
9 Sunday fixtures between August and November. Bedfont sports ground is the home ground.

Rest of the fixtures tbc per there and the FA's website.

Development / B team on a second tab, just friendlies so far.

There was a double header friendly last Sunday per this picture.
Presumably the development team were playing Luton reserves.

It is good to see publicity in the new stadium. If the club want to promote the women's team, though, less good to see nothing about these fixtures in advance on the official site or the club's own social media. Appreciate there is rather a lot else going on at the moment in BFC land, but if you're staging 2 football matches it takes seconds to fire off a couple of tweets to let the world know.

This is now up to date to show the first team's opponents for 21/22, with the usual Wikipedia map. Closest league opponents are London Sport E Benfica, who play in Paddington, and Walton Casuals.

The ladies development team played in step 9 last season, Greater London Women's Football League Division 2 (North), but won the league.

Also confirmed that the Women's B team (formerly the development team) will play at step 8, Greater London Women's Football League Division 1 (North), following winning step 9 last season.

B team league table and fixtures here: Greater London Women's Football League
That league kicks off on 5th September.

Looks like the home games tend to alternate between the two teams rather than playing back to back on the same day.

Yesterday's big kick off at Rectory Park, Northolt.... Sport London e Benfica 1 Brentford Women 2
Some line-up info here [FA website]
though not sure this is totally reliable... did we really only have ten players?

Brand new kit alert for the ladies team too. Good news.

Only the result reported on the official site, though the chairman has his finger on the pulse

The OS does have a detailed write up of pre-season for both teams and interview with Karleigh and the B team head coach Review of pre-season for Brentford WFC

Yesterday's game against Clapham United was postponed.

Bees United wrote a feature to mark 30 years of the women's team, actually published in May but linked from the OS yesterday

Bees United look at Brentford WFC
The original Brentford women’s team was originally Feltham women who started around 1970.

They became quite successful and from memory played in a regional league just below the national set up but changed thier name to Hampton in the mid 1990s. I’m assuming Amy’s team was a reserve or junior side when it started.

So they were Feltham, then Brentford, then Hampton? How confusing.

The article says Amy's team in 1991 were "the first time women played in a league in Brentford colours..." even if this sentence is entirely accurate it seems odd to badge them as the first if there was a separate predecessor team. Seems as though all teams were only informally linked to the BFC until relatively recently. Anyway there is continuity for 30 years with Amy's involvement in this team so 30 years is a significant landmark.

The article is incorrect, and yes, it’s a significant landmark. Amy and Roger kept it going for years when no one else would.
