Why don't you guys do what I am doing. My brother and I have booked a return trip in a helicopter from Kew Green to Brighton (landing about 400 metres from the stadium). Easy peasy :)

We should be able to have a drink or two in the Express Tavern after the game.

Just as well your comment was made in jest. Brave New World had nothing on this.

If the facilities and experience is as sh*te as people are making out, they ain't gonna get many away fans, would be interesting to see what % of away allocation is taken by clubs across the league.
On a normal day I would happily train it in from Brighton or Lewes.
This isn't a normal day so we have to improvise and work something out.
Somehow we get there.
Obstacles have to be overcome.

Even if I lived at Heathrow airport I think I'd travel and take the club coach, which actually goes to the stadium....

Is the Coach Station still at Pool Valley?

Still got to get to Falmer from there.
Yes - but if you are getting the national express, get off at the stop in Patcham (by the The Black Lion), cross over the A23, walk up to the roundabout and turn left under a railway bridge and you will find the Mill Rd park and ride. A couple of mins walk.

Tell us how much that would set us back.

As a teenager I cycled to both Brighton and Southend for League games. Great going but seemed 4 times as long cycling back to Heston....

Also remember coming back from a Grimsby away game midweek - got off the coach at Brentford in the early hours and retrieved my bike from a mate's house to cycle back to Heston. Got as far as Osterley Station when stopped by a police car whose occupants wanted to know where I had been and where was I going. Said I had been to Grimsby and they replied " What - on your bike ?? !! "....:ROFLMAO:
Fair play Hants, I did the London to Brighton bike ride a couple of times...and managed to get up Ditchling Beacon...just!
But that was capped by Mad Mick Scarlett....got a new bike and set off to watch the Bees at BARNSLEY.....got halfway, slept under a tree...and made it in time for kick-off.....didn't hear about the return though. 🤣
The things the old-time Bees fanatics did !!!!!

What's Falmer Road like to walk from Woodingdean? Google Maps says 37 min walk.
It will be dark and exposed to the elements, but looks as good a cycle path/public footpath as I have seen
Personally I have never walked it, but I would not mind having a go during daylight.
If it rains then you will get drenched.
Especially from that drizzly rain that gets you wet.

@horshambees what‘s your view on parking at the Hollingbury Asda car park?
I'm not Horsham bee but this is my local Asda - I take it that to park in the car park you are booking through a parking app because otherwise you will get penalty charges.
If you are not using the parking app - there is free street parking on Carden Avenue, the road that you will drive along to get to Asda. The parking spaces are just after you past Crowhurst rd ( the rd Asda is in) on the right hand side of Carden Avenue. There might be parking spaces down Crowhurst rd - this rd is also home to the police custody suite in Brighton- so probably the safest place to park in Brighton!
If you choose to park in this area - it will be at least 55min walk to the stadium ( so you won't want it to rain)- on the way there it will be all down hill but coming back you will be walking up Coldean lane - this is a long steep hill. The top of Coldean lane meets the top of Ditchling Beacon and you will have to walk to the top.

Thank you very much. Yes, I was looking at JustPark. I’m sure this has been covered already, but what’s your advice on parking? I want to drive down for the game, but it seems unnecessarily complicated to get anywhere near the stadium that doesn’t require a trek. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm no expert on Brighton and its parking arrangements, but it would appear that there is very little parking available that doesn't require a walk of at least 35-45 minutes, and that's if your lucky! Good luck.

Are busses running? If so, parking in The Avenue, Bevendean (which always used to be free and plentiful when I lived there) and getting one of the busses from Brighton Uni/Moulsecoomb station would be viable, or get a cab from there, 10 mins drive from the ground.

@horshambees what‘s your view on parking at the Hollingbury Asda car park?
Afaik there is only parking when the store is open.
You get 3 hours free parking whilst shopping and fines of £70 have been issued to parking before opening and after closing at the Marina Asda.
Its a risk my friend, but in Hollingbury there could be street parking. I have not looked to be honest as I feel if you can park there you may as well park in Patcham and get the park and ride.

The only way to park near the stadium is to pay for parking in designated car parks but they are sold out.
The only real options are the park and rides. The Mill Rd is in north of Brighton and by the large roundabout on the A23/A27 intersection. This fills up quite quickly - usually 1.5 - 2hrs before kick off. However, both Patcham and Westdene are housing estates on either side of the A23 that have no street parking restrictions - you can park there and walk to the park and ride. Brighton played at home today - my rd is usually packed with Brighton supporters parking their cars and then walking to the park and ride in Mill Rd. However, not so many turned up today- there were several spaces available after kick off.
The other Park and ride is at the Racecourse in the east of the city. You can get to the racecourse from the north of the city in around 12mins (light traffic) 20 mins (moderate traffic). I would recommend anyone who is driving to Brighton, to use their Sav when driving around the city. The council have put in bus gates that only authorised vehicles can use - buses and taxis. Everyone else has to use the local traffic routes. Lots of people have been confused about what a bus gate is and have been caught using the bus gate and fined.

Brighton have just released some more parking at the University in Car Park C. 277 spaces left at the time of writing, apparently 14 mins walk to the ground.

Just been informed by my Brighton supporting friend that Brighton have released travel details for the Boxing Day game.
There are Park and Rides at Brendon's Equestrian centre Pyecome, Asda Hollingbury, Sainsbury's West Hove ( places here have to be booked due to limited parking) - the details of how to book are due to be released soon.
Mill Rd and The Racecourse- as normal - just turn up.
Apparently, there will be additional parking at Sussex Uni and they will be releasing details about this soon.
Hopefully, they will let Brentford know and all the relevant details can be published by the club.

Despite having a JustPark booked, I mulled things over and decided to give this a miss as I didn’t fancy a 40 minute walk in the pitch black so I cancelled the space and got a refund. Told Mrs GB I was no longer going to football on Boxing Day and in an act of altruism would be spending Boxing Night in the bosom of the family. She said “you say that like you expect some credit for it…”

Having seen that you can park at the Uni though I’ve had to U-turn on my U-turn. I’ve parked there for an Amex event before and it was incredibly convenient. Parking and ticket booked.

If only she’d given me some credit…
