No longer my beloved NAM
Not too much on the pitch. I will go for the fact that they were still serving beer after the final whistle so I managed to buy a 480p Fosters 🤮 for a quick beer before the coaches left. #intervention #premierleague #kellybrook

So many champagne moments. I’ll go for the whole bus back to Brighton singing the new Vitaly Janet & Charlie Goode song - you had to be there :sorted:

Just about half way through the season and we’re mid table and miles clear of trouble.

We’ll strengthen in January and we have some ridiculously good players to come back from injury or Covid.

Still enjoying every minute of it.

No need to wet the bed any time soon.

I am one who thinks Jensen is not consistent enough throughout 90 minutes to be in the starting 11 but he did play a great through ball in the first half to Baptiste

We are not miles away from trouble…3 or 4 defeats on the run and we are in it….this is the premiership 🧐

And what happened to your pal and his abortive attempt to enter the stadium? Anything to do with the sniffer dogs? Flat beer moment for him!
Yeah, had a few too many beers so we met him in the pub afterwards. Nothing to do with sniffer dogs, but thanks for bringing the tone down, well done

We’ve won more games than the bottom 3 combined.

Norwich are doomed and it’ll take more than a bottomless pit of money to sort Newcastle’s problems.

I also have no doubt that we are better than Watford, Burnley, Southampton and Leeds.

We’ll buy in January and have very good players to come back into the team.

My glass is very much still half full.

I’m sorry mate but we are able to enter a relegation battle that we all expected on day 1. No complaints we’re a David fighting against a lot of Goliaths, we have relative peanuts to spend and are right up against it for the next 21 games.
We need some inbounds and our best players returning to their best. I’d still have accepted this position before we kicked off against Arsenal

Neither Norwich nor Newcastle will get 3 wins any time soon. Not sure Watford will either. Those wins against Everton and Watford with average performances have bought us some time to get players back and a couple in. Then we should be fine. However, we do need to beat 6 more teams this season.

Norwich are down but anyone from the next 6 or 7 could join them…we play like that too often and we will be in a proper relegation battle….complacency is our biggest threat at the moment 🧐

With players coming in and coming back and January we will be absolutely fine.

Agree with lots of this. If we play like today again, we’re going to get a kicking.

I‘m hoping that today marks a low point in terms of performance and that January will see us back to early season form.

I still believe there at least 3 teams worse than is and we’ll have enough to stay up. We’ve all seen enough sh*t to deserve a few years in the sun.

I really hope you’re right
I thought when the injuries hit hard a couple of months ago that we’d be in or around the bottom three at the start of the new year. We have surprised me by how well we have fought and picked up the points we have but the lack of numbers and quality in depth is going to drag us down.

Will the DOF conclude that three other teams at least will not pick up sufficient points to catch us or will we strengthen?

I hope and pray it’s the latter assuming we can find the quality we need otherwise I suspect it will be a long hard and difficult new year.

I said to myself when injuries hit if we have 22 points in January we'll be fine.

We have played two less games and others havent picked up as many points as i used in my worst case scenario so we're fine.

I will concede that i have us down to lose to Man City. But 20 points with Ajer back soonish and a few new recruits and it looks good to me.

We already have Wissa, MBS, Baptiste back since i thought that.

The Everton and Watford wins were crucial.

I hope it’s just me being a wuss but I think with injuries and suspensions and loss of form we don’t have the strength in depth of most other squads.
I see a long tough 21 games that we will do well to get as many points out of as we have the first 17.
Again I will be delighted to be proved wrong but I don’t see enough creativity and enough pace out wide on both sides of the pitch to feed Toney.
We need strengthening in Jan and our key players returning from injury, sadly Raya, Ajer and Josh D aren’t back anytime soon

Our support sounded great on TV.

There was a great back-heel from Nørgaard to create a chance in the second half.
A “full” Premier League debut for another B team graduate, Mads Bech.

Remembering 20 years?? ago walking out of a Boxing Day game against Brighton after 70 minutes completely drenched and pissed off by how crap we were that day. Also how dreadful a place gillingham was to watch football..

Thinking Darren Freeman was a great player…..

How the fortunes of both clubs has changed for the better is my champagne moment

I hope you're right BUT excluding Southampton because we haven't played them yet, first time when we played the others, we won 2 drew 4 and lost 2.
As I said on another thread we still have to play Man City and Man Utd twice, Liverpool and Chelsea away, a rejuvenated Arsenal away and a rejuvenated Spurs at home.
Make no mistake we are in a fight for our premier league status and we cannot afford many more performances like last night.
We need new faces that will hit the ground running and a complete reversal in lady luck regarding injuries.
Fingers crossed. Come on you bees.

A lot of those are now at home and Norwich are sh*te and got lucky against us.

Just check the Ashes thread to see im not an optimist. I tend to try and see things as they are.

England Cricket not good enough!

Brentford more then good enough to stay up and i think we will comfortably.
