Gonna be a long drive instead now. Looking further forward trains look a little disjointed for Newcastle in Nov and Leeds in Dec, hoping that’s because they haven’t finalised timetables yet

There's a separate thread for Newcastle md but there's engineering works between Peterborough and Doncaster which means a disrupted service (reduced frequency and longer journey time)

They certainly are. Thankfully the team are making it all worthwhile.
Please add me to the list of angry people who have already booked their journey and now have a rail replacement bus service to contend with.
Luckily I was arriving In Burnley at 12 (it's not a night game etc) and departing Leeds at 8:15 so there is enough leeway to make the game and then train home. Not even a direct bus to Burnley either, two buses needed each way argh.

Trying to sort out train from London to Burnley is a complete and utter nightmare; I've decided to go with the club coach and it will probably be quicker given all the rail disruptions.

It looks like rail replacement service for either of the two main train routes. Euston - Burnley (via Preston) involves rail replacement from Blackburn. This still looks pretty pricey. Kings Cross - Burnley via Leeds involves rail replacement from Hebden Bridge. So it may not be too badGoing via leeds, no e mail about bus to Burnley yet

Leeds-Hebden Bridge-Burnley is a loong journey by road. Think Bromley-Eastcote-Harlow.
Blackburn-Burnley is a much shorter drive on faster roads.

I did not fancy driving much for away games, so I can have a drink etc but it costs so much to get the train even with a railcard! Hoping to do the full 38, so trying to keep costs as low as poss.
I misread this originally and may have made an error in my earlier message so in case it helps:
The replacement bus leg is only for Hebden Bridge to Burnley. The first part is a train.
If you pick an option via Todmorden however, it seemingly is two buses. This seems to crop up on several options going home at least, though not all.

I’m on the 8.33 from Kings X, gets into Leeds 10.47, train to Hebden Bridge 10.58, gets in 11.40, cab to Burnley 20min, anybody want to share?

Not sure if anyone would be interested in this route but I am taking a Euston to Manchester return and then a £10 national express coach from Manchester to Burnley. The coach is quicker and more direct than the replacement buses. More or less 50 quid in total with a railcard

And the coach is £10 return just to clarify, very difficult journey but I'll take 1 train and 1 coach with a bit of flexibility on timings as the coaches are every 30 mins ish

Just a long drive up from Somerset for me. I looked at trains but looks too difficulty and costly and getting back difficult
£72. Euston to Burnley Central. 2 changes on outbound (Manchester & Preston), 1 on return (Preston). Buy a return to Milton Keynes (but stay on train), a one way each MK to Burnley & Burnley to MK (stay on train). Limited to the trains/times booked. No railcard.

Thank you for sharing this..it sounds a safer bet as I was worried about all the connections to get back to Leeds. If one goes wrong there was a strong chance I'd miss my return train at Leeds so this Manchester/National express idea looks less stressful

I am staying in a hotel in Accrington from Weds - Saturday with the family. The enemy will drive so i can drink. All these train issues made up my mind. Nice place but only downside is trains from Stoke to Accrington are not feasible so I am going to have to not do that one. It would have been great if we had pulled out preston or burnley in the cup.

an option if anyones travelling via Manchester Piccadilly , come out of the station take the footbridge on your left, cross the tramline , go down the side of the canal and court , walk along Canal St take a right , to Chorlton bus depot that's about a 8 min walk across from the bus station their is the X43 Witchway runs between Burnley & Manchester every 15 mins cost @£9 return, they are very distinctive double decker black & amber buses ..cheaper if two travelling or a group of you .Burnley bus station is 10 mins walk from the ground.

Heading to Blackpool from Stoke on the Thursday morning. Weather looks grim for Thursday and Friday so I thought I'd take in the Blackpool Tower afternoon tea dance.20 or so of us will be training from Blackpool .
Fleet John and you regular Blackpool chaps would have done this in the past I'm sure. Any thoughts on what I should wear? Do I need to pack a dinner suit?
