oh sorry mate , i am in Blackpool so didn't look after the Leeds bitbut then what Nick? Rail replacement? No thank you.
1h 24m to go 43 miles by car from me in North West Leeds! If you've ever wondered why Burnley has a reputation of, how can I put this, being a little cut off from civilisation, consider this.
I am in Nottingham, a distance of 74 miles from Burnley as the crow flies. I have researched possible train routes and the journey time varies from 4 hours 38 minutes to 5 hours 36 minutes.
I'm driving there.
There's a separate thread for Newcastle md but there's engineering works between Peterborough and Doncaster which means a disrupted service (reduced frequency and longer journey time)Gonna be a long drive instead now. Looking further forward trains look a little disjointed for Newcastle in Nov and Leeds in Dec, hoping that’s because they haven’t finalised timetables yet

They certainly are. Thankfully the team are making it all worthwhile.yes; really testing our mettle for these away games aren’t they !!
Join the 17 of us ( so far ) in blackpoolPlease add me to the list of angry people who have already booked their journey and now have a rail replacement bus service to contend with.
Luckily I was arriving at 12 and departing Leeds at 8:15 so there is enough leeway to make the game. Not even a direct bus to Burnley either, two buses needed each way argh.
..............looks like the scooter and sidecar for this one...................
It looks like rail replacement service for either of the two main train routes. Euston - Burnley (via Preston) involves rail replacement from Blackburn. This still looks pretty pricey. Kings Cross - Burnley via Leeds involves rail replacement from Hebden Bridge. So it may not be too badGoing via leeds, no e mail about bus to Burnley yet![]()
Leeds-Hebden Bridge-Burnley is a loong journey by road. Think Bromley-Eastcote-Harlow.Going via Leeds, only 1 stop on replacement bus (Hebdon bridge)
..........it's all ok...........he has a history of this..................Leeds-Hebden Bridge-Burnley is a loong journey by road. Think Bromley-Eastcote-Harlow.
Blackburn-Burnley is a much shorter drive on faster roads.
Bus bag of cans?..........it's all ok...........he has a history of this..................

I misread this originally and may have made an error in my earlier message so in case it helps:Leeds-Hebden Bridge-Burnley is a loong journey by road. Think Bromley-Eastcote-Harlow.

Not sure if anyone would be interested in this route but I am taking a Euston to Manchester return and then a £10 national express coach from Manchester to Burnley. The coach is quicker and more direct than the replacement buses. More or less 50 quid in total with a railcard
Can you show which trains please£72. Euston to Burnley Central. 2 changes on outbound (Manchester & Preston), 1 on return (Preston). Buy a return to Milton Keynes (but stay on train), a one way each MK to Burnley & Burnley to MK (stay on train). Limited to the trains/times booked. No railcard.
Can you show which trains please
Hope there's fuel by then..........Just a long drive up from Somerset for me. I looked at trains but looks too difficulty and costly and getting back difficult

Nearly £150 from the West Country and arrive back next day.
Nearly £180. If anyone fancies first class well over £700.
Leaves at 7.45.Driving - £50/£60
Train - £70 with a railcard.
Only the coach which is £35 seems better value at the moment!
