Morning all.

I'm getting boat details for this one. Hopefully going from Kew Pier downriver through London to the Thames Barrier. About 15-20 minute walk to the ground.

COYR!!
Cheers 8Corner, already had some enquiries.

Nothing like a bit of competition to ensure a free beer upon boarding

One boat has been booked and hoping to get a second reserved. Details still tbc but we're looking at 10.00 from Kew Pier, disembarking at Barrier Gardens around 13:00.

Evening all.

We've been informed that we can't use the pier at Barrier Gardens to disembark (some previous shenanigans involving football supporters).

The good news is that we've made arrangements to use Greenwich Pier (by the Cutty Sark) with a short walk to Maze Hill station. From there it is a very short (2 stops, less than 5 minutes) train journey to Charlton so probably works out even better.

So no sailing through the Thames Barrier?

Still tickets available but the boat is already 2/3 full (thanks to all who've already bought their tickets).

I am hopeful of agreeing a small amount of additional capacity with the boat company. If you are still interested you can put yourself on a waiting list (using the same link).

Meanwhile, a little reminder of that great day at Orient in 2014...

I'm sure this will be of interest to some on here. Apparently there are new safety regulations under proposal that would see many of the small pleasure boats on the Thames having to be scrapped (including boats that took part in the evacuation of Dunkirk).

Danny & John Collier (from Colliers, the company we use for these trips) were apparently on BBC news last Thursday as part of the campaign against Marine Coastguard Agency's (MCA) proposals that would effectively put them out of business
