Fixtures are for w/c 28th September

However Fulham are playing Aston Villa on Monday 28th September, so not sure on what date this fixture will be played

Bristol City have the same issue with Villa playing the Monday before R3. Their R3 game is being played on Thursday with the next league game shunted to Sunday.

So when we beat West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday, we will be in the last 8 of the comp.

2 games from the final..do we start dreaming?

If we end up getting Fulham that will be slightly silly, especially straight after WBA! I didn't watch Southampton though, won't be watching West Brom and can't be arsed to watch this one given the 'ugh' context. If we get to the quarters then I'll start watching.

West Brom and then Fulham....Fate seems to want us to settle a few scores early this season.
Shame Leeds got knocked out.

Wednesday 30th would be my guess. Not many gaps in the calendar so they'll be forced to squeeze it in.

Nah, you'll watch if we beat West Brom and we play Fulham ;)

Let's win the whole thing, we can beat anyone on our day.

See the winner of the competition goes into a new 3rd tier European Competition. If the big clubs win this, champions league spots and FA Cup then this prize could realistically come to Brentford and how cool would that be. First European adventure since the amazing Anglo-Italian Cup run ...

Are you sure as historically UEFA have wanted that place to go to 8th/9th in the league

The winner will qualify for the playoffs for UECL, but if they already qualified for Europe you're right it goes down the PL table. Its weird.

I'm a bit confused by these draws taking place so far in advance. When are they doing the draw for the final?
Because the rounds are being played very close together. So the draws are being made earlier so that clubs and (more importantly) broadcasters can make travel and other plans.

Any club playing a MondayLeague game will be given the Thursday EFL Cup fixture

And any club who plays on Thursday in EfL cup will play Sunday in the League

Use Brighton v Portsmouth this week to prove my example.

Of course the tie is between

West Brom or Brentford v Fulham or Sheff Weds

So it does not have to be Thursday

A goal kick from Harrow Borough FC
So how many times have we made Round 4 ??
You seem to be having a one-sided conversation! I don’t know, but it’s about 10 years since the last time so I’ll go 3 or 4. A competition that’s never been a priority, and often beyond our capabilities in the past. We’re normally done with it by the end of September.....hang on a minute...

Missed out on going to Swansea City who were riding high in Div Two at the time. Trip to Forest was a good day out however. Had to take a day off school for that

You sure they weren't in Division One - I think that was the last away win v top tier opposition before last week?

Just checked, they were in Div One. They got relegated that season as part of there remarkable achievement of going from Div 4 to Div 1 to Div 4 all within a decade!

They were awful that season and the side that Toshack had put together was breaking up. He had relied on older experienced players, plus a few younger players like Alan Curtis and Robbie James, at the start but that only lasted a little while. Bob Latchford scored their goal at GP. I think one of our goals in the replay was a comedy OG.

I drove to the Forest game. Remember being very surprised how far away it was!

Don't think it's been announced, but I'd be tempted to wager it'll be live on Sky Sports following the conclusion of the last televised 4th round game.
