First game at LR. No fans. Extremely sad that this will happen.
Considering how we've treated cup competitions in recent seasons and the current climate, I'm personally not bothered that there will be no fans. More upset about not seeing one last game at GP as my last one was Blackburn. :(

Rather than playing nine B teamers in cup games surely we should be looking to only play perhaps four or five of them and also rotate our first team so that when we have to rely on squad players it will be more of a seamless transition. This season, more than any other, will highlight the importance of having an effective squad and advancing in cup competitions can only bring more confidence to our younger players.

This season more than any we need to B-Team this one unfortunately, the season ends at the same time but starts over a month later, with a lot more midweek games. Full B-Team I'd be happy with after Round 1, and maybe a few first teamers who need minutes (Halil, Valencia etc).

Other than fact that the EFL are probably locked into a deal that will cost them to get out of wouldn't the pragmatic approach this year be to not have this competition or the JPT or whatever it is called now?

Don't know where all the B team chat has come from. We could easily make 11 changes and have Daniels, Thompson, Roserlev, Goode, Janvier, Baptiste, Jenson, Fosu, Zamburek, Canos, Dervisoglu, Vanencia.

True enough, I should have referred to squad members who do not feature regularly rather than actual B team players. However, the players you name need more active involvement, particularly this season and extended cup runs could assist in this.

Surely, the team should be made up with players who are in most need of match fitness for the start of the league season, based on pre-season training.

But i don't think they'll let us play with 12 players though

Fair bit of pisstaking on twitter that its Wycombe the first visitors to the new stadium, not Chelsea or Man U. Oh well...
Don't go on twitter.

Put the first team out and win the first game. You don't want the bloody scousers to be the first team to win.

This is a game for the full first team. Griffin Park deserves it.

I was looking forward to MOTD this season, oh well...Quest isn’t a bad substitute.

Do we not have a name for the Stadium? That Official (?) blurb doesn’t mention BCS, Just ‘Home cup fixture’, ‘our new home’. Odd.
Ryan Air not yet signed up?
The Community Stadium sponsored by Brentford FC.

Because they have signed legally enforceable contracts for shedloads of money. As you know.
These arent normal times. Clubs need to stand up to Sky and maybe think of the people who go games not armchair pundits. Club and fans used to be as one. Sky need to toddle off until this is over

That's a good idea. But who is going to pay the wages of everyone at the club?

And equally for a myriad of reasons there are people who cannot go to games so for them Sky is the obvious answer.

I have a full sky package and do not watch any terrestrial tv, however in fairness if the golf and cricket were not on Sky I would not bother with the sports package as i find the wall to wall football coverage has eroded my enjoyment of the game

If Sky “toddled off” until this was over, English football would go to the wall. It’s TV money that’s keeping clubs afloat. Just.

It just feels crazy. Sky flick their fingers and supporters dont matter. Watched a B team game today for a while.on You Tube, was easy.
And the club made no revenue from it. Which they do every time a game is on Sky. Why would they sacrifice their second biggest revenue stream so that can show games on YouTube?

A well-policed salary cap, along the lines of the limitation imposed by the NFL in the US, might curb some of the funny-money excesses currently prevalent in the game (who, in all honesty, is worth a salary of £300,000 a week?). It would help clubs to align their outgoings more closely with their income and reduce their dependence on television money.

And what about those who have supported the club. So its Sky first and the unwashed second.
I’m not sure what the issue is. You wouldn’t have been able to watch the Wycombe game regardless of whether Sky are showing it or not. You haven’t been affected by the date and kick off change because you never would’ve seen it anyway.

Now the club has got a bit of extra revenue because Sky have decided to broadcast it.

Maybe use the revenue so people can watch?

I’m not sure what you’re suggesting?

It reads like you’re saying take the revenue from Sky and then use that money to make the game available to be via another platform rather than sky...so taking money from sky and using that to actively reduce the number of People watching it on sky.

I’m assuming I must have misunderstood as that’s the most ridiculous suggestion ever.

Is it? I dont know. Just thought about club thinking of its supporters. Maybe I am out of touch.
