Rumours abound that Celebration is about to be killed-off.

Part of matchday wins for as long as I can remember, but win some time off (e.g. The Martin Allen years), and most recently heard in the victory over Arsenal.

But what's the consensus on here? Vote in the poll and comment away!

To be able to cast an informed vote we surely need the most important fact - whats it being replaced with?

I mean...it is a bit cheesy, and I thought that in 2011 when I started coming back after being away at uni. But it's also a bit...quaint, nice and endearing. I do like it, but I get the idea it might make us look a bit tinpot.

I would find it a bit of a shame if we dropped it, but I wouldn't protest it either. I would understand.

I see another Brentford tradition is trying to be swept away. Can remember this being played at least since the late 1980s.

I remember this came up in the interest groups a couple of years back.

My view then, as now, is that the stadium move is such a big change that we should hold on to a few things that provide continuity. I'm not totally wedded to it and we should look at this in a few years again but for now I think it should stay.

They didn’t play it immediately after the Arsenal win, played something else first, I was confused like with goals/VAR thinking our win had been chalked off till I heard it start.

They can take our tits, they can take our fanny, but they'll never take our Celebration!

This is exactly right. So much has changed so quickly that its all quite disorientating. The new stadium is fantastic but it doesn't really feel like my Brentford yet. 'Celebration' is a really easy, low impact and entirely harmless way of bridging the gap between the old and the new and helping to ensure that Lionel Road quickly becomes 'home'. I'd be really sorry to see it go.

What was the song that was played immediately after the game had finished?
People seemed to sing along with it, but I'd never heard it before.

100% keep it. A great track at the end of games. The bit from 1:16 for about 15 secs is absolutely right when taking in a tight 2-1 win.

Singing Hey Jude, full house, all standing on their feet belting it out, was one of my best memories over the last few years. I suspect that and the best sound system in the country has something to do with it.

Thanks for the memory Kc, what about keeping Celebration though?

I remember specifically thinking after the Arsenal game that I was pleased Celebration came on after Hey Jude.

Helps make LR feel like home given we’ve played it after every win for as long as I can remember.

Is there any kind of benefit to not playing it? Why would we actively want to bin it?

I'd like Daydream Believer with the appropriate name inserted based on the opposition.

Keep please.
One of those slightly odd traditions - I wonder who decided it was a great song to pick or that it was worth persevering with? Surely cheesy from the moment it was written, nothing to do with Brentford or football, and contrary to the wording of nana's tweet it has never been a "chant" surely.

Played for years and years. Had a break at least once in the 00s then brought back for another decade plus, therefore associated with the best part of thirty years of Brentford and firmly a tradition, rightly or wrongly.
You associate it with a win so it's familiar and yet special. There will have been times in the past where we've won our first home game for a couple of months and it feels like a treat to hear it again. Hey Jude is a big Brentford song and chant but I like this at full time.

Nobody leading a campaign for the return of this? Appeared late 90s/early 00s for a while.

I thought Banana was suggesting The End as an alternative. Nicely left-field, but maybe too long.
How about Break On Through when we win, and Alabama Song for the rare occasions when we don't?

For the rare occasion we lose, if it were to happen again like, I'd play "I'm going all the way" by Sounds of Blackness. Perfect lyrics for the Club on these very rare occasions.
