The catch by the bloke in yellow on the Ealing Road

The header from the bloke in the Braemer Road

The young bloke with the green jacket in front of me in the Ealing Road bogs at half time having a piss failing to wash his hands. 5 minutes see him lining up for food :banghead::nono::nono::nono::nono::nono::nono:

The kids at the front of New Road who, after about 10 minutes and our possession and passing, then Jota's run into the box, chanting in the direction of the dugouts "you're getting sacked in the morning"!

Jota's skill first half, just inside their box, quick feet and glided past their left back and centre back.

andre only needed to side foot it home....why he felt the need to lash the 'kin thing from that range is beyond belief.....i dont think anyone expected to come flying across the line when it should have been in the net ;) 1-0 us and the game was virtually over as they were so bad and thats why its an unforgiveable miss !

keepers warming up doing crosses when Bonham half volleyed a ball back to Dickie Lee and it whacking a kid in the back in the front row of Braemar Road was class, it almost looked intentional

Jota's back heel by the ER/Braemar goal line to get a corner off their player, I am sure he actually meant it as well..

Reading this thread and seeing everyone rimming Jack Bonham out. Was he really that good?

Bingham was indeed good. His distribution was excellent and far quicker than Mr Button. His kicking also had more zip than Mr Button.

All in all, we seem to now have a very good replacement for Mr Lee.

Bonhams confidence was shot to pieces when he joined us so well done to coaching staff for getting him thru that problem and moving on to become an asset for BFC. (From what I saw yesterday)

Jota's skill and Bonham's performance.

Nightmare journey to/from the game put the icing on the cake of a bad day for me.

Had we taken one of any of our numerous chances it wouldn't have mattered how 'sussed' they had us. Just one of those odd days...

And Bonham was good yes, not the finished article but has much improved since his last few appearances last year.

Standing in the ER for the 2nd half, for the first time in maybe 20 years and realising I'm just too old for this standing lark. There's some weird and smelly people that inhabit that stand...

Really? Would you have typed the same if 2 or 3 of the better chances had been taken? We should've been out if sight and coasting the game. No team has us sussed, we lost because we didn't take what we created.

Opposite for me, sat in Braemar for a change among people who calmly chatted about "tactics" & "formations" & weird stuff like that.
Got asked not to swear so much by a bloke with his family & apologised then explained that it's the norm in Ealing Road...

Once again, our errors gave the opposition goals and at wolves we we the better side but didn't take our chances.

Quite correct WP,
Errors at the back - not clinical up front.
Time we looked at signing another midfield player ! - although I dont believe 60%+ possesion ever won a match.
I think WB has a legitimate opinion.

Converting your chances into goals win matches. Possession of the ball certainly helps. If we have been sussed, then those chances wouldn't come our way. We know we lack a forward, we know Gray is still learning, we all know that, at times, we do seem to be doing 'an Arsenal', by walking the ball into the net. But sussed out? Really? Ipswich did a job on us, didn't let us settle, they had a game plan and it worked. Brighton did not suss us out. Stupid errors in the defence gave them the opportunity to score. We created more than enough chances to win the game in the first half. Goals win games, we didn't score from being in good positions to score. We got sucker punched, not sussed out.

With utmost respect to WP I think his response went some way in agreeing with your opinion.
Quote Ipswich did a job on us - didnt let us settle - they had a game plan and it worked Unquote.
This was no surprise to me after seeing Ian Evans watchi us play several matches before they arrived at GP.

Yes keeping possession is great - pass pass pass is good but only in the right place and it dont win matches.

A lot of the latest posts on the match report thread seeems to identify what we currently lack.

However, we are in a league position that I doubt many would have belived possible at the start of the season so we should just give it more time - and await the arrival of a proven goal scorer to add to what we have. Am I really the only person who nearly always thinks "wish we had their target man up front for us"

I am ashamed to say I left after the second goal.

The complete sense of let down over whelmed me.

The first time I have left early in 35 years.

My deep shame today is my champagne moment.

I think Ipswich are the only team this season who have "had us Sussed".

Brighton were awful, but very lucky.

The way the Ealing Road got behind Bonham first half and applauded and encouraged everything he did

The fire drill..

Now that we have gone big time it was quite interesting to see so many people leave after the 1st and 2nd goals

I guess previously i wouldn't have noticed people leaving due to the relatively low numbers we had at games. :looks:

Both of us knowing what defeat meant to us down here.

Someone sporting the longest red and white scarf I've seen in years, sitting behind me in B Block saying about 10 minutes into the game "Is that Trotta playing out wide on the left? I thought he usually played down the middle" ...

What, they sussed we'd miss 5 great chances and our prolific scorer would have an off day?

They (as have others) have sussed if you pressurise our back four when receiving the ball from the keeper they will make mistakes and mistakes in
this area lead to good goalscoring chances, the fact we had by far the most possession does not mean we are going to win (look at NB blog re shots
off and on target, goals win games and if we do not put enough away we are likely to lose after all we usually concede 1 or 2 so have to score 3 to win.
The fact that teams have sussed how to cause us problems does not mean they will be successful but if gives poor sides a chance to exploit where
we are vulnerable.
