I thought that they moved the turnstiles operators around the ground on a match by match basis??

Not Bill, same seat, same turnstile, same entrance, for many more years than I can remember. There have been many other turnstile operators that have come and gone, but Bill remains a constant.

Thoroughly enjoyed the read of that thread.
Have not seen either of them in a while.
Do they still go at all?

Saw them a few games back. One is in a wheelchair now and doesn’t look too good.

Thanks for the info.
We used to sit either side of the entrance /exit where Mr Gilham emerges for h/t announcements.
Used to shout random scores at me and my son which I used to thank them for.
Sometimes they were wrong, but that was OK. Met their mum usually at the last game of the season and she was a really lovely woman who looked very very old and always reminded me of a character out of a Brother Grimm story in a nice way.

Was going to post this in 'Push Up' thread, following a mini hijack! However this is more appropriate.

Does any one know if this chap still comes to GP? He used to sing/shout "weeeellllllll" as though he was going into the Lulu song "shout"?

Yes, he's still there. With his obscenely large tongue.

They go every week. Sir at front row of Braemar right near the Ealing road. One brother is not in a good way at all and does t seem to know what’s going on. But it’s heartwarming to see how the other brother looks after him

That is good to hear. I have never seen one without the other either.

The Pie Brothers haven’t been to games recently. One of the them looked very, very ill for a long time. I fear the worst to be honest.

Her name was Julie, I worked as a steward with for a few years she was lovely girl. Unfortunately she had the horrible experience of losing her very young daughter in a car accident. She was never the same after and didn't see much of her after that. She had been a supporter on the Royal Oak stand for many years before becoming a steward. Used to attend with her pipe smoking boyfriend. Really hope her life turned for the better and would love to see her again.

I remember Julie too, she was such a cheery bubbly character. Horrible to hear about her daughter. A cliché I know but puts things into perspective

Lord, I've just remembered the worst Bees character ever. Sort it Out Man!

He wasn't a Bees character though, wasn't it some kind of promo for a CBBC show ?

I suppose he wasn't a Bees character, more a character who appeared at Bees. Highly unpopular, I do recall. Was he really a kids character? Can't see them being able to show much of the footage with the language that was being hurled around.

I always thought it was something to do with Soccer AM

BBC3 perhaps?

Many of Sort It Out Mans devoted disciples live on in New Road.
Some voices very much more annoying than others.
Not one can even start to describe what “it” is, other than being generally unhappy we’re not at least 1-0 up after 20 minutes.

Released from prison for the wheelie bin protest already?!

Steven Curran leader of the Council asked for early release so Slatts could be there to see Hounslow pick up the Councik of the year award!!!!!

Either that's a freaky large hand or that's not a beer can

#resistedabeadlejoke

Ha. It was a gin and tonic. Standard lads football fare
Few people know that @nocoat was the first successful recipient of a hand transplant.

The problem was that the hand belonged to Andre the Giant.

Used to see a bloke at away games, Andy Scott League 2 era, particularly up north. Think he were a Yorkshireman. Steve?

Not seen him at games for years.

Gaz Thomas, the same sort of time & not seen for a decade or so either.

Hope both are well, characters during my young, free and travel the country following the bees away days.

He joined the OB, moved out of the area without telling a soul (while owing several people money) and went back to supporting Chelsea.

He was spotted in the Nelson when we played them last month.

Good riddance, he's a wrongun.

Didn't consider someone not attending Brentford anymore due to switching allegiance - yikes.

Anyone remember Albert Dixon? Long-term STH at GP with his wife and avid programme collector. I met him the other day in Twickenham and he's quite the character and font of knowledge.
