from their site:
Charlie added: "I'm over the moon, having spoken to the Gaffer and seeing the club and them being top of the League it was a no-brainer for me to make the decision to come over to MK Dons.

"It's been a whirlwind couple of days for me, I had talks with another League 1 side which was quite close to happening until MK Dons came in and once they did there was only one move for me."

Looks like we got a bit of money from the deal. Hopefully some of that 1.5 million they're getting for Baldock....

One of my favourite players of recent seasons.

Gutted that he has gone, should have been playing ahead of Gary IMHO, however I have faith that Uwe knows what he's doing and has a more than adequate replacement lined up.

Will no doubt get his first goal for them on Tuesday if not this weekend...Good luck, shame it hasn't worked out for him under Uwe but it was always going to be his last season and a two year deal with a side also on the up is understandbly a good move for him, even with the franchise scum.

Has been a great player for us. There has been a lot of rubbish talked about him being 'deadwood' and that we should have kept Grabban instead in the last couple of days, but I'm hugely disappointed that he's gone.

That said, the timing looks good for both sides: he didn't want to be on the bench, any sort of a fee for a 29-year-old on a shortish contract is good business, and we move on. Hope we have Grella +1 to replace his goals with though.

Oh absolutely. Terrible scoring record for us. 18 goals in his first season, 17 in his second, 45 goals in 119 appearances plus six goals in 3 pre-season games this year. Useless
wasn't he :)

Was a great player in his first 2 years and sad to see him go but he's been too injury prone in the last few seasons IMO

One of the most honest players I have seen playing for us - never less than 100%! Sad to see him go but hopefully it signifies that we have moved up a level.

One of my favourite players of recent years. Not quite the player he was in his first two seasons but I have some very fond memories of some brilliant performances and crucial goals. Gutted to see him leave but wish him all the best.

The board are unanimous in the support of the manager's transfer dealings today. A good move for all parties and I wish Charlie well.

How many from open play in League 1? Sorry but I've never rated him and clearly the current management don't either. His departure shows we are raising the bar ability wise. I've never disliked him though as he always gave his all. For me he's League 2 level or League 1 level with an unambitious club.

Good luck to Charlie -- he certainly helped to keep us in Div 1, but I could never really see him rising to a higher level.

Could you argue that given the contract length and the Franchise stated ambitions they think he could do it in the Championship or if they get promotion he will be looking for a new club next summer anyway?

Top pro, Mr 100 per cent, but felt he'd reached his peak here. Hope he does well in the future, though can't wish him too well a) because they're in our division and b) because I cannot stand them Franchise t0ssers.

Do the board get a percentage of the fee ?
Is this why it's undisclosed ?
Smells of the David We££ era to me. :suspect:

17 goals a League 1 level speaks for itself IMO, whether they're from open play is irrespective  He may've struggled to reach those heights last year but I doubt many strikers outside of the big money signings of the top 4 or 5 clubs have provided that sort of return. He may not have been the right player for our new style but his replacement has big shoes to fill if he's to emulate Chaz's contribution.

Think Charlie's best days for us are behind him, he wasn't as effective post Scott IMO.
Wish him well though.

Would love to know how much we got for him. Be interesting to see how he fills the shoes of Baldock if he goes. Hopefully he's not their Callum Willock!

I respect your opinion regarding CM, but Brentford legend? I don't think so. Let me give you one or two ex Bees players who do qualiify for that honour.

!...Kenny Coote
2...Jim Towers
3...Johnny Brooks
4...Gerry Cakebread
5...Danis Salman

Of course the list is endless. The word ''Legend'' is bounded about too easily these days. We all loved Charlie for his effort and work rate, and yes he did score some fine goals for the Bees. BUt Legend? I dont think so.
