I think the police believe (mistakenly) that as there’s no pubs along that stretch of the high street from the Express Tavern stretching east until the RHG then it’s not worth bothering with.

I think away fans should be kept back but we can’t moan if it happens to us.

Sickened but not surprised by this, TBH. I got the train to Brentford rather than Kew Bridge for the first time this season because I knew the pubs would be much quieter. Coming out of the station there were a couple of groups of Chelsea lads prowling the streets and no police presence at all. It was the same walking up to LR.

My youngest lad who's in his early 20s left the Dug Out Bar after the game and got separated from his 2 friends.
He was attacked by Kew Bridge by 15 Chelsea youth, he was on his own.
He's partially sighted, Brentford and football mad, wearing a Bees shirt with pride, hates football violence.
They punched his glasses off his face and he also lost his phone during the attack.
He had to get back to Uxbridge without his usual vision, asking people and bus drivers for help as he couldn't see properly.
He got home after 2am.
The only blessing was one of the Chelsea lads stopped him from getting down to find his glasses on the pavement,
which probably avoided getting his head kicked in.
Now we have the problem of having to wait to get an eye test and new goggles made up, which wont happen this side of Christmas.
If anyone has found any glasses or a phone near the junction at Kew Bridge, please PM me.

That walk is a regular escape route for those heading west on buses, pretty much only Chelsea would be an issue here IMO

He's fine thanks mate, he would've thought "what the feck is going on" as he really doesn't like aggro.
He was attacked by a gang in Shepherds Bush a few years ago, took 2 years to sort his injury out which included
a bone graft in his mouth, he must have thought, " here we go again".
He can handle himself, luckily coming out of this by being a bit shaken up.
