....it's all gone a bit....the GPG does 'nanny state' on this thread....if HMG and EFL decree that this game goes ahead with crowd in attendance....then it's down to freedom of choice whether supporters go.... I'll be going if it is.... because I'll be allowed to and won't be committing any crime.
This thread is about the match being in doubt, not another place to argue about Covid/Masks/Lockdown etc. HTH.

Surprise surprise the thread turns ugly. If only someone saw that coming almost 100 posts prior 🙄

On the subject of the match itself - part of me would be quite excited to see a mixed lineup with a few new younger faces in there. I know we’d like to go 100% full strength but what an experience it would be for some of those players.

Would be looking forward to seeing any from the B team, specifically; Cox, Stevens, Oyegoke, Jones, Adedokun, Maghoma, Young-Coombes and Brook.

Plus the first team squad itself has a few prospects we haven’t really seen enough of yet; Peart-Harris, Bidstrup and even Zamburek.

Not suggesting we play them all but rotating in just a handful of these players into the team/squad would, IMO, keep the game relatively competitive whilst making the best of a bad “squad availability” situation by giving supporters something different and exciting to see.

Have a feeling we'll get a walkover. Chelsea don't want to play

Which suggests if you can get on to BadMan.com and don’t mind being asked to update the Flash Player nobody has used in years plus a few scantily clad ladies popping up you may get to watch the match with less annoying commentary than usual.

I’m guessing Wednesday morning after testing ?
That would be a problem if that happens as it would result in empty seats in the stadium.i have covid so cant go Wednesday but would be able to go to a rearranged game.so at what point do i call the club for a refund as it has to be 24 hours before the game kicks off

England going into Tier 2 restrictions on 27th so minimise travel. We're going into closed doors matches again I reckon

unfortunately your decision impacts everyone you come into contact with not just you. why should the person who gives you an uber ride, who works in your local supermarket etc etc etc have to be at greater risk because you decided to go and mingle with a massive crowd - some will have had a few and for some any form of social distancing or mask wearing will be out the window - when transmission is at its absolute peak during the entire pandemic thus far.

If the Uber driver is concerned about who they pick up then they should isolate and not drive. It’s not up to football fans to monitor their risk, if he is dropping you at a football stadium he has probably already decided on his personal risk,

We have been told to make our own decision, until we are told differently people should mind their own business and stop telling others how they should be behaving.

I hope the game is on but can only see further restrictions coming after Xmas, it probably won’t happen before as the main man has burned his bridges on that.

Where did you see that?
Also didn’t we attend games with reduced capacity in tier 2?
People are confusing ‘Tier 2’ with ‘step 2’

Speculation is we’re going back to Step 2 which would mean closed stadia

Can you show your source please? I am not seeing this anywhere whatsoever. But this however does look positive: Premier League to fulfil festive matches

Looks like we are cracking on and counting on vaccines. Plenty of time for it all to change but until it does I have something to look forward to.

Also Starmer is laying into Boris on Twitter about not attending the cobra meeting today so I doubt we will here of any further restrictions today.

Right!
Let me bring it back to thread.

Surely time for a GPG rating on if this fixture is happening.

Chelsea will sacrifice this game so they can play on Boxing Day and two days later.

If it goes ahead, and for those of us who opt not to go, will we still get our TAPS?

My understanding is you usually get them post-game, only if you attended. If that's the case, maybe for this and other games that people are now opting out of but have tickets for, we might get the TAPs anyhows.

I wondered when the issue of TAPs would come up.

Any limitations on attendances or wider limitations and I think their allocation will need to be carefully thought through.

I'm sure you'd agree that the uber driver and supermarket worker probably won't have much choice but to go to work and both of them would enjoy it more if the chances of catching covid was as minimal as possible.

But none of their U 23s could be on the bench at Wolves so how can they now be free to play ??

I think only ST holders get automatic TAP's and that would only be for league games

Different competition with different eligibility rules
The PL say you can have as many as you can

Each Premier League club have submitted a squad list for the 2021/22 season.

Each squad contains no more than 17 players who do not fulfil the "HGP Player" (HGP) criteria. The rest of the squad, up to a total of 25 players, must be "HGP".

Each club squad list is below as well as an additional list of each club's registered Under-21 players who are eligible over and above the squad limit of 25 players.

Given that Connor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour are on that list. could probably do with a bit of pruning to make it relevant

When they originally travelled to Wolves they had enough to fill their bench, so they weren’t needed
I remember Andy Scott having enough players to fill a bench but would not to make a point. Marinus did the same with two goalkeepers on the bench at Middlesbrough.

I feel really sorry for them, they are going to struggle who to choose from that lot.
