Good point and where better to start than with us.
I would go as far as saying an advisor to TF, and a potential first team coach after he has completed his badges; not that I’m trying to get rid of TF, far from it, but for me it has a lot of potential to it.

That aside as others have pointed out it will be great to have a world class player around the club, bringing with him the knowledge, ethos and attitude needed to be a top professional.

it would also be a big statement from BFC to the premier league that we do things the our way.

Attacking midfield is probably West Ham’s strongest position. Benrahma, Fornals, Lanzini, Vlasic and potentially Lingard.
Thats a good point. Even though I think he is better than most/any of them (if he gets back to form). Doesn't Fornals play further back as well? More of a Box to box type?

I think he is much more of a playmaker, he isn't pacy like the other options they have, much more like a Jensen for us. So he drops deeper yes

Sorry - I'm a bit peed off at the moment. Tested positive for Covid yesterday meaning Weds almost certainly out and fed up with last two results. Is Erickson really likely to join a club who may not be in Premier League next season? I know I will get shot down for this but we are in a scrap and not sure he would risk it tbh.

We’re 10 point off relegation. Which is a lot better than Newcastle, who will probably be the other option if he wants game time.

We need something, because I think we are bang in trouble.
The thing is, and it would be a major coup if we did bag him, but when would we reasonably expect him to start making an impact on the first team? He clearly won't have had a pre-season and given our intensity in pressing and high physical expectations (ie running around after loose passes) I can't see him dropping straight in?

I think it would be a good morale boost for everybody.

Even if it’s only 10/20 mins to start off with, that bit of quality and technical ability he has is exactly what we’re missing.

Bloody hell I wish he would just announce where he’s off to so this thread can be closed. Little chance he’ll be coming to us

If it happens...And I really hope it does...we shouldn't expect some sort of savior. I think that's very important to keep in mind. But he would undoubtedly add some quality in passing etc.

Just ignore the fact the ITK in this thread said we’re the most likely club in the Premier League to sign him

I agree our defending from corners is worrying and we have nothing going forward in midfield but on the ball was much better today
Wouldn’t Eriksen make us better going forwards in midfield?

I’m not sure if they’ve watched the last few games, but 6% is ridiculous.
In the last 6 weeks we’ve beaten Watford Everton & Aston Villa and drew with Leeds, these types we need to pick points against. In that time we’ve lost to Msn City & Liverpool which would be expected. Results against Southampton & Brighton were disappointing. If in the next 8 games we can pick up the same return of 10 points then we will be fine

10 points clear of the relegation zone, and are a better team than those down there. Heck if we were on 13 points I'd fancy us to stay up. 6% is about right, we'll get a few more wins and that will be enough.

Nailed on. I keep on saying it but we need a max of 12 more points to guarantee staying up. Less than a point a game is more than achievable.

Why would this be the case?

He's coming to take someone's place in the team.

He's way off match fitness and sharpness and will be a long way from contributing significantly in matches.

JDS might be at a similar stage of his comeback and be able to contribute positively instead.

I'd love to see him come and I hope his natural skills will lift those around him in training etc. But I don't think it's automatically the boost you envisage.

Twitter fans seem to think he’s going to Brighton this morning. Where has that come from?

I can’t wait for this speculation to end. And I would love it if he is with us when all said and done.

It’s just people being hopeful. There is 0 concrete link from the media to any team, so of course they’re gonna be hopeful they can get a player of his quality.

Fans from dozens of clubs falling over themselves wanting CE to sign for them. But apparently according to some on here, he's not good enough for Brentford.

Honestly...

“Brentford and Eriksen Perfect match”
Translation for those on their phones.

Editor of Danish football site thinks Eriksen and Bees would make a perfect match.

The game about Christian Eriksen's future is in full swing. In fact, it should be right up there if one is to believe English media - including The Times.
And even though Christian Eriksen is probably surrounded by people who can advise him, I will still take on the role of consultant for five minutes and try to give it as a career counselor here in the 11th hour:
The match between Eriksen and Brentford is in my eyes absolutely perfect. Like Michael and Kathrine from season 6 of 'Married at First Sight'. Like Kelly and Dylan from 'Beverly Hills 90210'. Like Kasper Hjulmand and the Danish men's national team.

Yes, we are right on top of that blade, and before the readers shout out their frustrations a la 'What the hell is René Schrøder thinking of him? Eriksen will damn well play in Barcelona or Tottenham', I would just like to be allowed to elaborate on my position with some concrete points of impact:

The Danish connection
It should simply be important for Eriksen that Brentford has as many in the squad and in the coaching staff as he knows. There's just a huge difference between going into a locker room filled with familiar faces and one where he hardly knows a single one. One where he quickly feels safe and as part of the jargon rather than one where he has to start from scratch and risks feeling like a stranger.

2. The family .
For almost 10 years, boyfriend Sabrina and Christian Eriksen have been through thick and thin together. And no one will ever forget the pictures from the Park as she stood on the sidelines watching her partner fight for her life. Both before and after the eerie episode, Christian Eriksen has told how important the family is to him and how important it is for him that it thrives. So does Sabrina in London. Here, the couple has a large circle of friends and with a massive Danish presence on the Brentford team, she will of course also become a fast and natural part of the player wives and girlfriends she already knows from the national matches.

3. The pressure of expectation
All honor and respect to Brentford, but neither fans nor the local press will throw themselves at Eriksen or the club if the creator does not deliver exactly what everyone hopes. There is no pressure to win titles from the first move after the collapse, and it should appeal to Eriksen to be able to live a more protected football life - at least in the first contract after the heartbeat.

4. The form
There is no doubt that a Christian Eriksen in the form he showed prior to his collapse can play on the highest shelves. But now it's almost seven months ago that he trained with teammates and played match. And everyone who has tried to sit outside for so long knows that you can not just step on a track again and from day one, two or three hit the level you once had. At Brentford, he will be able to play quietly in form, while bigger clubs probably do not possess the same patience.

5th WC
When you saw DR's interview with the Danish creator, there was not least one thing that could get Christmas lights in the eyes that back in June had been dead for a while: WC! And with the relationship his national coach Kasper Hjulmand has with Brentford coach Thomas Frank, there is no doubt that Eriksen will ensure a close dialogue between the two most important people in relation to getting him to the World Cup at the end of the year. If, for example, he ended up at Tottenham, Antonio Conte would probably be whistling indifferent to Eriksen's World Cup dreams. He would only focus on Tottenham's next match. Kasper Hjulmand and Thomas Frank would definitely like both the short and the long Eriksen course.
In the above argumentation, I have chosen to keep everything that is about economics out. Because then Brentford does not have a Chinese man's chance to join.
And I totally believe that family considerations, security and well-being weigh more heavily on Eriksen and his family than how many zeros can get on the payroll. Therefore, clubs like Newcastle and PSG should not be part of the future puzzle that Christian Eriksen and his real advisers are putting in these days.
