Steady on mate, what exactly is it that you disagree with?

Just think the chant is poor and no consideration to all the women who've been victim to sexual abuse, there's bound to be tens of them at least in that stadium at any given time.

Again, not advocating we ban people for the chant, but erm, if we could have a discussion like functional grown ups rather than a 'GFY', would be nice.

Not singing about rape is about the lowest bar we can expect some to hurdle, and yet there will still be some that stumble over it.

This is on a par with Kevin Godfrey signing in my eyes if it happens....;)
Kevin Godfrey
Kevin Godfrey
My brothers favourite player when he was mascot (Fulham 0 Brentford 1 header from Evans) the year we went up
When Godfrey was told he was the mascots favourite player he was in shock - ‘Kevin you’ve got one!’

Also, people have every right to express they're concern at certain chants in the West Stand. When I'm at the footy, if there's no children around me, I swear almost every sentence, and do say some pretty unsavoury things about the opposition fans, players, and the referees. I've sang some pretty grim chants too, but when it comes to rape and stuff like that, that's where it crosses the line for me, it's not about Ronaldo or Mendy for me, it's disrespectful to the victims of the crime.

Like I'll sing 'feed the scousers' and other fairly gim songs that rile up the oppo fans, but you won't catch me singing about that sort of sh*t I heard at the Man City game and last night too. I don't think anyone should neccesarily be banned for singing it, but it's pretty low hanging fruit which I wouldn't wanna hear belted out if I was a victim of one of Ronaldo or Mendy's crimes watching the match.

If a footy player sexually assaulted your daughter, would you be cool with watching a game where people sang 'she said nooo'
Whilst I might slightly disagree with you, this is the most sensible post on this topic

Trouble is bud, everytime there is a post, just like this one people expect some news,
After +2k posts on this thread, the last thing I expect in this thread is news 😂
(doesn't stop me hitting refresh on it about 20 times a day)

This is a waiting room for the over-excited-cant-believe-we-might-actually-sign-eriksen fans to torture ourselves in for the next ten days or so.

No news..,.but......
Last night when Marcus Gayle was talking to Martin O'Neil on AstroSport about CE.......he corrected himself several times after saying where he thinks he will play and what he will bring to the team etc, etc.
He kept correcting with an awkward smile,to say 'IF he signs, I said IF" then forgot himself again by talking about wages.......talked as though deal was done and then again, looked sheepish and said "well of course that is IF Christian signs"

Just made me think, what does Marcus know that we don't?
Maybe as said above .......wishful and hopeful thinking..........anyone else see it?

Probably have no effect whatsoever but did wonder that if we can get this deal across the line whether it would encourage others to follow.

Do you mean some of our other current targets?

You only need to look at reports that Lingard is looking seriously at the magpies as he is ‘impressed they have signed his friend Kieran Trippier’. So yes!

I like you all am committed to Brentford no matter what.

However, if we are serious about CE we better get it done like NOW!!!! before we get sucked into the relegation se saw.

With CE, Josh and Raya and a RWB and a LWB we could still be on a “Magical Mystery Tour” for more than one season!

Let me clarify. That post was a more sensible explanation of their veiw compared to the other's. And like I said, I am against his general simplistic veiw of things. Sorry to derail

Worry not. We didn’t get here by accident and the same folk that plotted our rise are plotting how we stay and become established here. There is no top team in football that I would rather entrust this to than them given the need to act within our obvious financial constraints

I quite like ‘Oh Christian Eriksen, Brentford loves you more than you will know …’
How about the old Sven song:

Chris, Chris, Chris, Christian Eriksen...
He's a lovely geezer, and now he's scoring goals for Brentford.

(I hope)

I'm coming to the opinion that we probably need to play one of Vitaly or Norgaard. As good as they both are, I do think the midfield is a bit blunt in an attacking sense and so reliant on Baptiste, Jensen etc who play at the tip of our midfield three. We're also incredibly dependent on the Wing Backs too, and when Sergi fills in at LWB and Mads play's RWB neither add a huge attacking threat IMO.
I agree... but reckon Vitaly and Norgaard are two of our best players. Could Vitaly play left wing back in a 3-4-3? (Or more like 3-4-1-2 if we sign Eriksen... feels mad even to be typing that).

So this is like pricing an option. This is going to go down to can CE's agent find a materially better deal in the remaining time before the 25 man squad has to be submitted. We think that's 11 days at the moment. So with every day that passes the probability probably improves a little. But not linearly.

Therefore with 11 days to go I give this a completely unBlack-Sholes calculation of 26.3%

If no-one else comes in for him then it will happen. Most probably...

It's going to be a long 11 days (hopefully)

Not sure how I feel about this. If we're just an 'if nobody else is interested' kind of solution. But I guess it's just a reminder of what we're competing for. Not as if this is Swindon Town's player or the year.

That’s the reality of the situation and sadly who we are.

You have to think CE and his Mrs would prefer to move back into their spectacular house in Hampstead, particularly as they have a son who’ll be starting school in the autumn. Surely she’ll want to be near her old muckers among the Tottenham WAGs too.

Much as the agent will be after dosh, dosh and more dosh, is there really a London club that’s going to offer materially more? My money’s on home comforts and the Danish connection. Come on Mrs E, you’re the boss… sort it 😉

Was the same with Ivan and we don’t hold that against him. Well…most of us don’t…

Good research. But kid;s starting school and we're only offering a 6 month contract? Doesn't sound like a game changer to me!

On Marcus Gayle, I've seen a few people talk about it as if it will happen. I think Marcus was just getting caught for words there, I highly doubt he'd have an inside scoop on our incoming signings.

Better offer he can receive, but how many boxes can they tick? London, Premier League, regular starting position. We have a lot in our favour...
