Always makes me laugh, when he and Jensen do the same things during matches the reaction from the crowd is very different!
Couple of not so great moments from CE at Old Trafford esp. in our own half - but overall still absolute quality. The service our forwards received from him (and, latterly, Jensen) was excellent and the finishing very poor. Toney should have had at least one goal to his name.

His agent will no doubt be fielding some very attractive offers, that we can't match financially. But we have Thomas talking to him every day about all the other reasons why he might want to stay and I think that gives us a very good chance of persuading him to discount those financial reasons. There has to be a reasonable chance Thomas is persuasive enough.

Not his greatest night, few misplaced passes, lost a couple of midfield challenges. Still our most creative player with some nice tricks, good set pieces & probing passes. Covered an awful lot of ground.

Rough translation of what Eriksen said to the Danish media after yesterday's game:
"It's been great. It is a warm club that has welcomed me since day one. I’ve been integrating really fast, so it's been everything that I could dream of at the moment."
"The results have also been very good and the feeling around the club have been very positive, so I am grateful for that. It's a club with good people, so it's an exciting club."
He acknowledged there will always pros and cons for any opportunity available to him, but finally it will be a decision he will make together with his family.
I would expect before joining that he imagined Brentford should just be the six months, but he's finding it actually difficult to leave if focusing on personal relations and his family.

I have followed him very closely since he broke through, and I have rarely seen him as relaxed and joyfull as he is now. Could be because of what happened...but there is no doubt that he loves playing for this club. So maybe the chances ARE good.

Sublime passing range again. In all honesty, I think he's lost some of his defensive ability and gets turned a few times.i don't think he would get into the spurs side week in week out.

The more I hear, the more I am absolutely convinced he's staying. I heard "99.9%" certain of staying today...but applying the GPG "Bedwetter:Optimistic" normalisation formula I would put that down as 99.8%

He also had the assist to the assist to the second goal, and the long inch perfect pass to release Toney who set himself up brilliantly btw. He had a great free kick delivery to toney as well that would have been another assist to assist had Wissa only got his foot on Toney´s pass.
I agree CE should have done better on his direct free kick and he obviously took to much risk in his pass that let to the disallowed goal. He also failed a Banana cross with his right foot where I wondered why he did not use his great left foot. I also agree most of his games have been better. But I don´t think this match made any difference to his potential offers in the summer. (ask Thomas if he lost interest)

Bit of a curious performance this one. Thought he gave away too many balls in the first half and was very lucky the Armstrong goal was offside. To be fair he was clearly disgusted with himself when he saw the ball go in. Defensively could do much better too.
Having said that, you just need to see the highlights and its obvious he's practically involved somehow in nearly every single dangerous moment the team created. His corners and free kick quality is just ridiculous, it's come to the point where you nearly expect a goal from every set piece. Should do better on that direct free kick though.

Some loose passing today in probably his 'worst' game to date in a Bees shirt. 'Worst' being a subjective term as he still created the energy & momentum in the middle of the pitch to be at the heart of much of the best of our offensive play. Like others on this thread I feel more confident than ever (or delusional) that he is going to extend his stay with us ❤

Why not 4 years? Or even 5? He is still relatively young, don’t see why we wouldn’t tie him down until retirement age (with a relegation release clause) - especially given his kids are looking to go to school locally. Players like CE don’t fade off until 35+, just look at Pirlo or Silva.

I think with with Jensen playing, we were trying to get the middle 3 further up the pitch, fight fire with fire, if you score 3 we will score 4. With CN being the only one behind CE. It also placed more responsibility on the defence duties. With Southampton having 60 %, this was more than normal. Thus affected his game more and it showed.
Saying all this we still won 3 zip

Surprisingly strong reaction.. I am a supporter, yes, but even as a neutral it is not hard to imagine a player of his caliber would have made an assist anyway if they had not fouled him. I think I made a fair post, in a friendly tone.

It's pretty clear, he was just about to pass the ball to Wissa, when he got fouled. Luckily the ball found its way there on its own.
