The irrepressible Christian Norgaard and Mathias Jensen get through so much work in midfield that defending is not a priority for a player who is undoubtedly most comfortable when looking forward.
Clearly, the writer hasn't go the hang of this Brentford midfield?

Good article and I think it tried to be fair and balanced. I don't remember one player making such a significant difference to a PL team from January onwards, it's been unbelievable. Maybe Tevez and Mascherano had as much of an impact in where West Ham finished away back but that was two players and well the deals were strange.

Credit to the club, our model is perfect, the stats are used well but sometimes from a basic football perspective a world class player can just make the team better and remind us for all the models, good people in the background it's footballers who can make a difference.

He still has a foot on most chances that Brentford get. Whats not to like. Enjoy him while you got him! Hopefully also next season :)

All the seasons he was with Spurs he did the most miles of all players in the league. He might not be a tackler but he does the defensive work for the team.

Does anyone have data on how much Eriksen works for Brentford? I Dont think its less than when he was at Spurs? If you want to make him a luxury player anyone, then use facts! He work more than anyone. Despite his small stature :)

No data I'm afraid, but I've got it on good authority that he is helping out in the club shop pre-match and also manning the Box Office phones on a Wednesday! He is a worker indeed

Are you even supporting your club or not?
I'm sorry, but I'm confused by this question and it's relevance to Mr Eriksen? I don't have the spare time to be offering my services to the club shop or box office, so does that make me less of a fan? 🤔😭

Danish media resently reported that United had been in for him three times during his career, but that he and Levy had turned them down each time.

Don't know if true or not...but if so - they might want him again.
If he's got any sense (and it looks like he very much does) then there's absolutely no way he'll want to go there. Car crash territory. Going to take them years to sort out. He'll have zero guarantee of playing time and there seems to be little in the way of team spirit there. He could end up with a huge wad of cash but be sat in the stands for months.

Not sure to be fair 🤔
Reading it again, I’m not sure either. In the sense that Eriksen does put in a good defensive shift, albeit of a different nature to that of Norgaard and Jensen. So the journalist is quite wrong in this regard.

I didn’t think it a particularly good article anyway, as I said on the MJ thread. The writer chooses CE’s worst performance to claim that he was the best player on the park.

Raya coming back helped a lot too. Both our reserve goalies weren’t very good.

Amazing that only 6 clubs are mentioned in the April PL team of the month, and that we are one of them, plus having 2 players in the line up.

Who could have imagined that a year ago, when we were still involved In the play-off matches, let alone the Final.

Who could have imagined, even in their wildest dreams, that Christian Eriksen would be playing for us!

What a truly fantastic year this has been!😊👏🐝🐝🐝❤️

I have regularly ridiculed people over the age of 14 who wear football shirts with a name and number on the back but I am still so giddy that this man plays for us that I have just ordered the third shirt with Eriksen 21 on the back

Mind you it is an international delivery so knowing the club shop he will probably have already signed for Tottenham by the time I actually receive it....

Does anyone know if we have the finances to keep him? At the end of the day even if he wants to stay can we afford to give him a respectable offer?

I guess it depends on how we have budgeted. If we were to say budgeted £15m for an attacking midfielder, and, we could use that as wages for CE, over 3 years that this just shy of £100k PW

TF has publicly stated he wants to keep him. So I guess the answer to your question is yes CB.

Different bits of budget. If CE starts a bidding war on wages beyond a small uplift I think we’ll just shake hands early and let him go because pushing the boat out for £100k is pointless when Newcastle csn just offer him £150k without blinking.

It's not a source of income for me

Anyway, for some reason my bet wasn't accepted and the odds are now 5/6
Aren't there laws against insider trading? 😎
