Getting back to Jensen I think CE has brought out the best in him and made him a better PL player since his arrival
Fortunately I think he's made everyone a bit better. Toney and Bryan benefiting from his distribution, also some great passing from Norgaard that I don't think he would have tried before. Specifically the pass in to the box for Dasilva and few seconds later great vision to Ajer for his goal

I would imagine he's 95% sure of where he wants to go next season already, but I think his agent would probably stop that from happening. Mind you, announcing that and relegating Leeds at home would be unreal!

Norgaard's been doing that since he joined us!

Does anyone know if we have the finances to keep him? At the end of the day even if he wants to stay can we afford to give him a respectable offer?

Fair question, but I think it's fair to say the issue would be more how far we would be willing to bend/break our wage structure for him rather than could we afford it from a P&L perspective?

I would be surprised if the additional £100m+ of premiership & TV income plus the fact that we are now profitable on matchdays thanks to the stadium (can't remember exactly where I read it but I remember reading we were losing money on match days at GP) hasn't given us a pretty big boost financially, even if broader squad wages will have risen from being in the EPL

from the replys
If Eriksen leaves Brentford to come to United or to go somewhere else they could do worse than replace him with Juan Mata - unless Mata fancies a change of scene abroad to finish his career. Shamefully underused at United both under Rangnick but also before that under Ole ... Ole liked DeBeek because he helped choose him but I believe Mata is a much superior player

what ?
Mata is a much superior player

man u ruined him ( from a star to a has been )

I think Eriksen is probably grown up enough to tell his agent what he wants to do, rather than vice versa.

Could be an interesting experience for him in the last game of the season against Leeds, potentially his first experience of hostility (directed at him) since his heart attack.

I think I’m right in saying every set of fans (home or away) have clapped him when taking his first corner etc but would imagine Leeds fans may give him a slightly different reception when he heads over to their corner of the ground.

He’s been around long enough and played in front of enough hostile fans before the World Cup that I don’t believe it will have any impact on his performance.

I would actually think that he would somewhat cherish it, as it would just be another proof that he can still be a player without any of the circumstances influencing the slightest

And would make it even sweeter when he scores (and goes over to them a la Neal Maupay, to celebrate ;)).

Am I reading too much into this, the club are today advertising for 2 Dr's to join the medical team with one of the needing to have a&e trauma experience?
If CE needs a doctor with A&E trauma experience then it’s not his heart we need to worry about

His company (State Drink) shot a PR camping with him as a Brentford player at the BCS the other day. Would you do that with only two games to go...I might read to much into it, but I can't help but think that it's a good sign.

I quite like the caption under his photo

I don't think that it's been mentioned here or on another thread yet but we were told on a recent stadium tour that the club has sold more Eriksen replica shirts in the time that he's been here (circa 4,000) than total replica shirts for all players combined throughout the whole of last season.

Yes, it has been mentioned before. But no bother.

Hmm!! That would make it sound like it’s not a certainty he’s staying 🤷‍♂️
He will make the best decision for him and only he knows what that is after what he's been through. He doesn't owe us anything, as we have already benefitted massively from his presence here. What may well count in our favour is the humanity shown to him from when we first let him know we were interested. That, PL football next year and the Danish contingent, of course!

It would be naive of us to think Champions League clubs wouldn't be interested in him. The heartening bit of the quote is that 'CL football isn't essential to him.'

Sounds to me like edging towards a position where he'll sign a new contract with Brentford with the implicit expectation that he'll land a transfer to a CL club in Summer23

It does feel like an offer to play for spurs in the CL would be hard to turn down.

Guess we’re all arsenal fans for the next few games.
Not necessarily would he start every game like he would with us ? Probably not I had feeling he will stay touch wood

One thing I’ve noticed developing over the last few weeks is that he seems to love Rico almost as much as we do!

Seems like the two of them have developed a proper connection on that left hand side that just gets better every week.
He seems to have the same feeling with Toney and Wissa...less with Mbeumo

I would assume CL football would be to good to turn down. If he left for Spurs in the top 4, I would say "thank you, its been emotional". If leaves for say, Leicester, I would be disappointed.

I would assume one scenrio for sure, we are right up there in the race, possibly number one choice if the package and family life is right.

Every single ball in the box goes straight to a Brentford player, it's quite ridiculous. The gulf in class is big IMHO.

He could be the difference between another fairly big coup in the transfer market too!

Please stay

I am a bit more nervous than I've been. I feel like he really likes the club but that he mentions CL seems like and sign. It seems like he is shopping around and I don't think that will end well for us.

Hope so badly I'm wrong. He fits in so well and I think the club deserves one more season

Let's face it if he's offered CL football then he'll probably be off, and who'd blame him? Out of those going for CL football nex year though it's only really Spurs who might offer him something.

If he goes, it's been fun. I'm looking forward to seeing JDS get up to full speed. I still think that he could be massive for us when fully fit. JDS, CN, MJ and VJ are all Prem quality IMHO
