It need not break the wage structure. The difference can be accommodated in the signing on fee!
The 'Wage Structure' includes all money paid to the players. The wage structure exists for two main reasons, yes?
1. Financial sustainability of the team
2. Making all players happy that they are paid similar amounts

If you are recommending a signing on fee because of 1, then you are missing that money is money regardless of when and how its paid. If you are recommending a signing on fee because of 2, then you are missing that money is money. Regardless of when and how it's paid. If there is some third reason you think Brentford is maintaining a particular wage structure, I would be very interested to hear it.

Most players who sign on are paid a fee usually related to the circumstances of the signing. These fees are negotiated at the time of the transfer or contract renewal. They will all differ in size for example it is likely that Toney will have received a different package to that of Peart-Harris. In the same way that CE will receive a separate package.
What that wage structure is at Brentford I do not pretend to know, however, I respect your opinion and reasoned debate!

I am a new fan as of the promotion living in middle Florida, and to my delight at a bulk food store there is a gentleman who works there that is from West London! The look on that man's face when he saw my Brentford shirt was priceless! Was telling me he feels conflicted because he's always pulled for Brentford but also for Arsenal, and now that they are in the same league for the first time in his life he doesn't know what to do!
I think anyone who has been a fan since promotion to the Premier League pulls for Brentford. :sueme: 🤷‍♂️

I understand that, I am concerned that you do not seem to understand that you can break the wage structure of the team even if Eriksen is the lowest paid player on the team in terms of weekly wage by giving him an exorbitant bonus. That's still making him significantly more highly paid than any other player, thus breaking the wage structure.

Maybe we need to offer CE some incentives that wont break the bank.

Perhaps giving him 2 hours TOIL at Christmas (not to be taken during first team games) will do the trick.

Or an Ole & Steen pop up at the training ground.

YES!!!!!! That doesn't count, does it? No one will ever know about that. You f***ing genius, you.

Hope you don't mind but I've given Phil Giles your email address. Expect to hear from him before midnight. (or not).
Do you think if he does re-sign there won't be a signing on fee?

Bit of a change in the betting

Man Utd 4/5 (was 1/2)
Brentford 2/1 (was 3/1)
Spurs 7/2 (was 4/1)
SkyBet

Interesting...

It's not interesting, it really isn't. I thought this had been done to death. It's a market that was changing as and when people put bets as small as £20 on, based on rubbish info being spouted all over the web or just general value

You can dislike the post all you want :ROFLMAO: There are over 2000 posts on this thread and a lot of those talking about odds and it has been spelt out time and time again by many different people, the odds dont really mean anything, yet people still quote them saying they are interesting.. At the moment, no one knows where CE is going, probably not even CE himself so the odds are just simply irrelevant as there is no insider information

To stay or not to stay,
So far no answer found,
He won't or he may,
Or he might continue to confound.

Anyway it keeps us all busy,
This chat and this worry,
Sending us all in a tizzy,
But maybe he's not in a hurry?

Third verse coming soon....I hope!

I heard he get knocked over by a wind surfer and lost all memory of where or who
He is and immediately signed for Fulham.

Agree. I would say it was interesting from a pure money making venture when it went to 12/1! I was too slow unfortunately

Indeed, I got on at 8s purely because I thought the price was too big and there was value. Had a score and odds went straight down to 6-1. Couldn't believe it then went out to 12-1 and I missed topping up/ No inside information here, no gut feelings, just pure value betting

They seek him here. They seek him there. Those clubs seek him everywhere. Is he in Heaven? Or is he in Hell? That damned, elusive personnel !

Haha. I started reading this to the tune of "Dedicated Follower of Fashion" by The Kinks but then realised you were going in a different direction. So..ermm..

They seek him here, they seek him there
He'll pass the ball, but never square
They can't beat or break him so he's got to be the best
Cuz he is Christian Eriksen, he plays for Brentford

Oh, yes, he is (oh, yes he is)
Oh, yes, he is (oh, yes he is)
There's one thing that he loves and that is flattery
One week he's in yellow shirts, the next week he's in stripes
Cuz he is Christian Eriksen, he plays for Brentford

:sneakoff:

The whole 'Team X made an offer' thing bothers me because Christian Eriksen is a starting midfielder/attacking midfielder on about 16 teams in this league and a quality sub on the other 4... and available on a free transfer. Any team that is not reaching out for a contract is missing something

Interesting (subjective)

- West Ham have made an offer too....
Damn it! We're well out of the race now.

The Porn bros. have offered to throw in the last 20 years back catalogue of the Sunday Sport and a lifetime's supply of French knickers from Ann Summers for Christian's missus (or for him if he has a secret fetish). They'll even buy him a shed to store it in.

How can we possibly compete? Work with some long-haired Norwegian for 3 years, with cut price admission to Kew Gardens and the Brentford Piano Museum.

I think he’d be more interested in an offer from Katherine 👀

Someone on SkyBet’s had an absolute boat load of money on Newcastle, they’re 3/1 now. Be a shame to lose all that money when he signs for us next week 😂
