Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom from Greek club PAOK is attracting interest from English Championship sides Middlesbrough and Brentford.

Reports from England revealed the two clubs are ready to go head to head for the striker, who started his career at Arsenal.

Akpom has been impressive since moving to Greece, winning the Greek league title and also on the brink of helping PAOK reach the Champions League Group stage for the first time in their history.

Middlesbrough are reportedly interested in bringing the striker back to England, but Brentford interests mean the Teesside outfit are not in pole position for his signature.

PAOK sees the 24-year-old as an important member of the squad but they will only do business if they receive right offers.

Akpom who has scored 14 goals in 28 games across all competitions for the club is valued at £80million by the club, according to reports.

Sorry. £80m?
Yeah, but we refuse to meet their valuation and offer £1m then put out announcement that the selling club are "not negotiating in good faith" etc

Is this brila.net's first dabble into the crazy world of "journalism"?

Will be brought in to lead the “ dickhead gang “ as they currently create a presence at the club and need to have a leader to organise them into a formative group.

Who could forget his four or so appearances for us? Well, me actually and I didn't realise it was so long ago. To be fair, he did speak positively about his time with us afterwards.

That'll be what was mentioned in his Wiki entry then.

He seemed fairly average when he played for us a few years back, might be worth a punt at $80mill? Just slightly more expensive than the stadium.

Would be peanuts to them in the grand scheme of things, wouldn't change much

A minor point but what a sentence this is! We're a big fish now.....(though if so that would be the only true thing in this article)

Presumably he is absolutely crushing Greek football for that price tag....maybe they are naming Brentford to try and draw out Villa to cut out the middle man?

He was **** when he was here. No-one liked him when he was here. He's torn up no trees since he left Arsenal and I can't imagine for one second BFC would give him the time of day again.

So why is there a 'rumour' thread about this pillock?

I’m really pleased about this. Can’t wait to see the beautiful signing/holding the Boro scarf photo, and the dead expression behind his pitiful eyes. Hopefully he’ll be told on a Day One that whilst it’s only 70p to cross Middlesbroug’s top attraction (the Tees Transporter Bridge), at present all payments for bridge crossings, purchases from the Visitor Centre, and any tours not paid for online must be made in cash. And that Grimsby is only 128 miles away by car.
