Actually, Our mate Djurcin has only scored one goal for Red Bull. And no assists either.
His goal tally, in total over the past 5 seasons is just 36, I believe.
I do not doubt he is a good player, but he may not be a goal scoring/ goal assisting messiah who had a right to be guaranteed a start...
But I agree that there will only be one Big Nick:D

Did I find some dud table then? Could you provide a link please, merci :)

If you believe for one second that anyone demanded starts then you are a lost cause. Sadly Warbs was angry and IMO lost his head and words a bit on Tuesday, I "get it" as I felt the same after that game, I don't think he'll say that again.

FC Midtjylland has used the set up MB wants to implement this season to amazing effect.

Not saying it's directly transferrable to English football but it's a shame MW isn't on board with the project.

84 goals in 97 Red Bull appearances!

Do remember that he's only 22 l believe so it gives a perspective on the 5 season tally. I think the most revealing stat was that he scored 17 in 21 games for Stur m Graz. What , l do know is thAt he's very quick and tends to score when chances Co me his way. A bit like big Nick:D

Who knows, I do agree it will be a tougher league next year simply because I don't believe that some of the "bigger" clubs will be as bad as they were this time around and if Sunderland come down they'll go straight back up leaving only two places.
However, I believe in MB and he won't allow us to suffer second season syndrome, if anything we'll do what we did the last time we missed out on promotion and strengthen further. Top of the shopping list for any Manager will be at least two strong, quick defenders, a midfield guvnor to replace Dougie who isn't and finally a couple of forwards to add to Andre, one a target man and one another quicky like Andre.

The Championship is always extremely competitive, not least because a lot of clubs spend tons of money they haven't got chasing the dream of Premier League football. The finances of a lot of clubs in this league are, frankly, quite shocking. We're up against at least ten or twelve big beasts who will spend, spend and then spend some more. Some of them will fall flat and under-perform (this year it was Notts Forest, Fulham and Cardiff) and the odd one will implode completely (like Wigan). Next year we'll have the likes of Burnley, Hull and Leicester trying to scramble back at the first attempt and with loads of parachute money burning a hole in their pocket. However much more money MB throws at us we aren't going to compete with this orgiastic feast of spending. (He has said so himself).

So we're going to have to take a few calculated gambles with foreign players who may or may not find their feet in English football, talented but potentially wayward young starlets and rising stars from lower leagues. We've been pretty good at this game these last few years - eg Jota, Dallas, Tarkowski, Gray - though we've had a few duds as well. It's our only way to compete with much richer rivals and, with astute management and a strong team ethic, we can and will challenge. But possibly not every season! we do need to temper ambition (very commendable) with a bit of feet-on-the ground realism.

Perhaps. I just always saw that role going to a Comolli type.

You are probably spot on, it was the only thing I could think of, no idea if Zola is involved, I'm happy to hear that MB said we'll go up next season as I know he really believes and is going to do all he can to make it happen.

Where did he say this?

Zola and Martin O'Neill at the game today. Fairly sure the latter wouldn't be involved but the former..?

Its sh*t or bust for MB. We have to get to the promised land for him to get his money back.

Why? Can't see how he's in any way qualified for that role.

He'll be great at signing players..........
Matthew I think I've found a great striker, he's only 42 million and he only wants 150,000 a week, can you sign it off please
Of course Gianfranco, use my Amex card !!!

You just don't get it....;);):sorted:

Well i always rated Calvin. He's underrated imho, not everyone's cup of tea i suppose but a loss to those who don't/won't (ever) get it.
An improvement on certain forwards who have "graced" the hallowed turf
Is he seen as a D0f or hc? ;)

Well he won't see a return on his investment playing Championship football.

I'm not sure that's why he is investing in brentford Fc. In time, I'm sure MB would like to see the club pay for itself and without needing outside funding. Until then, MB is happy to fund the club to a degree we can only be amazed at and enjoy.

Steve Kember was also there.
But I doubt he was there for a job interview...

...but our next 'manager' isn't going to be a manager, is he? It's going to be a Head Coach operating under a DoF.

No he'll be our Manager.....that hullabaloo was created to go easy on Warbs instead of the club announcing he's been given the big heve-ho...

I think the plan was 3 from 8 and Fat Frank and Warbs decided we didn't need!!!!! Heard that some feel MB didn't want promotion and happy to stay down FFS

What I still can't get my head around (even allowing for squad unity!!!! WTF) is why would the Football Department not want to take ANY opportunity to strengthen & improve their chance of promotion. Madness, sheer bloody madness. Like most Brentford fans, "I just don't get it".

Dare I say it, maybe a touch of arrogance and a Manager getting a bit full of himself and starting to believe his own hype?
Still "we'll learn from this "

I didn't want to say that either but I can see why you would say it.....................................Reckon MB must be furious. I'd guess his stats told him this would happen if we didn't strengthen. Unfortunately, any learnings from the January fiasco are bugger all good to Brentford FC. Doubt Warbs will make that mistake next year (assuming of course his new owner will make monies available as MB was prepared to do!!). Funny old game.

Think the GPG Has some 6000 odd registered users. So that would show that the majority of the 9000 are on the GPG although a load not regularly. Hull, Northampton and Ealing Bees make up for those that don't post regularly-------

Plus the odd visiting fan too.
