No not at a gameClub statement condemning offensive language being used by a fan............. Last nights game?
Thanks.No not at a game
If heads are anything to go by, then two...Are we assuming it was a male?

Ironic that he was saying farewell. I suspect he won't be seen at LR anytime soon based on the content in his little video clip.I’ve seen the video - it’s appalling.
And it involves a fan who was involved in the farewell tours.
Appalling is putting it mildly.I’ve seen the video - it’s appalling.
And it involves a fan who was involved in the farewell tours.
Pretty sure the club has the right to refuse admission/ticket sales to anyone it wants. And I believe there may be another complicating factor here...A rather unpleasant video and thing to say....I'm not sure the club's reach extends to outside the ground though surely ?
Same here. I can imagine the content from what has been said above.I've not seen the video. Didn't know there was one in circulation. Clearly been dealt with quickly.
IF its who my mind has gone to he has worked damn hard to rebuild.himselfI’m not defending what he said at all here. But before the character assassination starts please remember that there is a person behind the story, someone who has struggled with mental health as well, people sometimes say things they instantly regret, sadly in the days of social media and trial by the mob, mistakes and errors of judgement can follow you around for a long time.
If it’s the same video I saw yesterday he said the ‘N’ word in a very aggressive manner. So the person behind the story in my eyes is a racist. Found it repulsive especially with the high number of black players we have had at the club over the years.I’m not defending what he said at all here. Agreed. And it sounds like someone is getting in their excuses early. Was staggered to see him working on the tours given his history. I wish I could say I was surprised to hear what he was saying on the video too, which the most vile racist words I can imagine anyone using. If it’s the same video I saw yesterday he said the ‘N’ word in a very aggressive manner. People always regret things when they are caught.
This isn’t a trial by a mob and the the club have made their zero tolerance policy clear.
Hope he can reflect and appreciate the diversity not only the fan base but the players that put on a red and white shirt.
Not very successfully it seems.IF its who my mind has gone to he has worked damn hard to rebuild.himself
No and I could be way off trackNot very successfully it seems.
Completely agree.. swift and decisive action neededIf it’s the same video I saw yesterday he said the ‘N’ word in a very aggressive manner. So the person behind the story in my eyes is a racist. The video is clearly very recent as a Brentford FC Covid Mask was being worn, but removed for the nasty words.I take it the Video is a recent one ... not something surfaced from a past life?
Regardless, good that the club are open and upfront about it.
Let's hope they are also transparent with the outcome of their investigation.
If the person is guilty, need to make it public. A quiet under-the-carpet ban does nobody any favours.
We’ve all said and done silly things when we’re drunk that we wouldn’t when we were sober, however, they tend to be dancing enthusiastically, maybe flirting clumsily or even speaking home truths to someone who’s irritated or annoyed us...being drunk does not make someone shout and sneer racist slurs if it’s not something that’s harboured somewhere in their mind already.Agreed. And it sounds like someone is getting in their excuses early. Was staggered to see him working on the tours given his history. I wish I could say I was surprised to hear what he was saying on the video too, which the most vile racist words I can imagine anyone using.
As for the excuse of "saying things when you're drunk", you are entirely responsible for your actions when drunk. Such as drunk-driving, or GBH etc. It's no excuse. But alcohol does lower one's inhibitions doesn't it.
You say it's harder to do at away games. Why not name the idiot and just ban him from home matches, unfortunately difficult to do at away games.
General question here... is the mental health "card" above or below the race "card"I’m not defending what he said at all here. People can see someone has mental health issues and then it's up to individuals to decide if that is, or isn't, enough to excuse behaviour. It's not a "mental health is more important than race" or "race is more important than mental health" hierarchy.General question here... is the mental health "card" above or below the race "card"![]()
you would assume that whoever recorded it sent it to someone else not expecting it to appear on social media and they sent it on to someone who sent it on etc etcAs appalling as this is I would like to know who was recording this and what was their intentions and who put it out there.Looks like he was set up.
You might be right Bill. Having said that, to know the name of the QPR chap referenced, I assume it was another Bee who was familiar with Rangers mob and therefore a mate of the individual who was the star of the video. As appalling as this is I would like to know who was recording this and what was their intentions and who put it out there.Looks like he was set up.
No idea why you think he was "set-up". It's not like it was some sort of elaborate trap by an in character Sacha Baron Cohen for his latest film. He was asked some straightforward questions, which he answered. What happened to the video afterwards is not relevant either. If the video was never taken, or never shared, he still said what he said.As appalling as this is I would like to know who was recording this and what was their intentions and who put it out there.Looks like he was set up.
Without the the video you wouldn’t be discussing this now.No idea why you think he was "set-up". What happened to the video afterwards is not relevant either. If the video was never taken, or never shared, he still said what he said.
100% set up. Not condoning what he said at all, you cannot get away with that language in this day and age and he will pay the consequences. Some on other groups are already digging out his partner who has nothing whatsoever to do with this episode. No idea why you think he was "set-up". Cant see the point behind that BB.As appalling as this is I would like to know who was recording this and what was their intentions and who put it out there.Looks like he was set up.
maybe but there would still be questions to answer as to why one of Brentfords top boys has chosen the used Tampax pad mask to wear in public.Without the the video you wouldn’t be discussing this now.
I suppose because the branding links the video to the club? Plus they were involved in the tours etc as was posted above.I haven’t seen the video in question so please excuse my ignorance but what’s the basis upon which the club decided to make a statement? Is it because the person was wearing a Brentford FC branded mask? Normally such statements are reserved for employees or incidents that take place at a match etc.
Probably because of all the above. Plus the fact the act itself is so egregious that it demands some sort of action from the club who can refuse admission to anyone.I haven’t seen the video in question so please excuse my ignorance but what’s the basis upon which the club decided to make a statement? Is it because the person was wearing a Brentford FC branded mask? Normally such statements are reserved for employees or incidents that take place at a match etc.
