Like the team. Is Toney injured ?

I would of argued this anyway. Toney has looked jaded for a few games now. He always seems to play 80+ minutes too.

Didn’t hear the rumour, is he injured or being rested?

Someone posted on here (that they later deleted) that he was seen in Twickenham in a “boot”. 🤷‍♂️

sh*t hadn’t heard any rumours? Cov will get a massive lift with that news , Although they may have planned their defence around Toney?

On paper, a serious lack of experience and leadership on the pitch. Let’s hope the youngsters get it done.

Having digested the team, it is still very strong. Provided Ghoddos gets up and around Forss. Attacking full backs and fairly attacking midfield 3. Bench looks v light but we know we have players coming back to sort that.

Toney not on the bench.

I wouldn't play BM as he has been dreadful for too long but lets see how it goes.

We can win this game without Toney but if it is serious it would make the autos very difficult. Big chance for Forss but we will have to adapt how we play a bit to suit him.

It does make some sense to play Ghoddos as a 10 and hope that Canós and Mbeumo can do more defensive work on their wing backs.

Not to worry.
Forss will grab his start opportunity, and play well.

Plus he is playing in his favoured position of being in the middle, rather than coming in as a sub on the wings.

If Toney is injured, rather than being rested, then it cannot be any surprise that for a player who has played most minutes of every match, expends so much energy, and is constantly being thumped and tackled to the ground, that something will catch up with him.

Just hope it is more of a niggle, as didn’t see anything wrong at the end of Wednesday’s match.

Happened in training?

Yep, weirdly I quite like the look of that team. Forss will make the runs, we just need Ghoddos and Jensen to find him. Need Sergi, Bryan and Roerslev to have decent games.

There is no doubt Toney is a big miss, and maybe will be for a few games! However if Forss is given a run of games, which is now likely he'll be an ideal replacement, and keep the goals coming. Our weakness remains defensively, interesting take on the Cov twitter; they're going two up front today, and their fans are as surprised as we were with our selection. That signals managers in this league, have caught onto our weakness and Cov fancy testing us today. I like our selection though, it's fresh, will add energy and provide players with a chance.

I do think Cov's style will suit Jensen, Ghoddos and Mbeumo, it might give them some confidence to kick on.

Re Ivan I always have wondered why he has two bits of tape/strapping on his leg

That’s not his injury though. That’s muscle support.

Surprised Reids dropped but looks like a regroup and repair and will be great boost if we can come away with the points.

Not "dropped" just a big ask for 2 games in 3 days, I would have thought.....

Don’t want to paint a pretty picture on this but like the rest of the team, Toney could probably do with a rest. Played well but getting very frustrated in the last couple of games - lack of protection from refs. Timing not good though but I guess no time would be

To be honest I've felt for Forss as whenever he comes on we're chasing the game and he plays out wide rather than through the middle. He's a very good forward who we will need to adapt to and play him in rather than expecting him to hold it up.

A lot of young, 'nice' players in that lineup. Not lacking in quality but a bit worried about the cynical side.
